Guo Jing joined with people from the Beggar Gang to search for Huang Rong, but for a full month, they failed to find any trace of Huang Rong. Guo Jing and Lu Youjiao went north to search for Huang Rong and unexpectedly encountered Jin soldiers fighting Mongol soldiers. Guo Jing intervened to help the Mongol soldiers defeat the Jin soldiers. Guo Jing met Tuolei again. Tuolei asked Guo Jing if he was willing to return to the grassland together.
