The Justice Episode 39 Recap
> The Justice Recap
Xu Shu introduced Cheng Yizhi to Matsumura. Cheng Yizhi chatted with Matsumura about antiques, appealing to his interests. He believed antiques were not suitable for long-distance transportation and suggested depositing them in Rebang Bank's vault. Matsumura had long heard of Cheng Yizhi's great reputation and felt his words made sense, deciding to deposit the antiques in Rebang Bank.
Cheng Yizhi seized the opportunity to mention that he had already resigned as general manager and that Leizi, recommended by Liu Erlang, was now in charge. Matsumura was already at odds with Liu Erlang, and he was greatly angered. Wu Lizi called Cheng Yizhi to report on the progress of affairs. Ningning promised to investigate Leizi's orders for secretly transporting antibiotics to the rear without Liu Erlang's knowledge.
Wu Lizi suggested handing the orders to Liu Erlang, letting Leizi and Liu Erlang fight among themselves. Cheng Yizhi wanted to use Leizi to send these emergency medicines to the frontline of the Anti-Japanese War. He told Wu Lizi the good news that Xu Shu was still alive, and Wu Lizi was greatly surprised. Wu Lizi returned to her room and saw Chopin's manuscript sent by Liu Erlang. In a fit of anger, she threw it on the ground.
Late at night, Ningning thought Leizi was fast asleep. She secretly got up and took out the order from his pocket. In fact, Leizi was pretending to be asleep, deliberately not alarming Ningning. Cheng Yizhi came to the cemetery to pay respects to Professor Lu. Xu Shu arrived shortly after, and he recounted his previous experiences to Cheng Yizhi in detail. Xu Shu had once participated in an anti-Japanese organization, which ended in failure.
Discouraged and wanting to end his life, he took a boat out to sea. Mrs. Lu saw that he intended to commit suicide and spoke to him about life ideals and beliefs. Xu Shu then disembarked with Mrs. Lu and subsequently met many enlightened individuals. Later, Xu Shu met Matsumura, and they became immediate friends. Xu Shu promised to fully help Cheng Yizhi, using Matsumura's connections to drive away Liu Erlang.
Wu Lizi returned to the hotel after work and found someone in her room. She immediately drew her pistol, but to her surprise, Cheng Yizhi was waiting for her in the room. Wu Lizi worried that the sergeant was targeting Cheng Yizhi and urged him to leave quickly. Cheng Yizhi didn't care at all; he was also being followed by the sergeant. He had to use the waitress Lily as a cover. Wu Lizi was very jealous.
Cheng Yizhi couldn't help but hug her tightly. The two confessed their longing for each other. That night, Cheng Yizhi stayed in Wu Lizi's room. Leizi personally supervised the pharmaceutical factory to complete the order. He had the workers load the goods overnight. Immediately after, Leizi delivered four gold bars to interpreter Dou. Interpreter Dou reminded him to act carefully and by no means let Liu Erlang notice anything suspicious.
Leizi swore confidently that there would be no problem, as he had Feng Youru's backing. Cheng Yizhi and Wu Lizi enjoyed drinks and conversation. Cheng Yizhi laid out his plan in detail. He had Heart-shaped Face impersonate a staff member from Feng Youru's Society Department to transport that batch of medicine. After the medicine was transported away, Ningning destroyed the order. Zhou Wenquan arrived shortly after, thanking Ningning for her strong assistance and reminding her to be careful.
Ningning felt a warmth in her heart. Heart-shaped Face and others were escorting the goods when they were intercepted and inspected halfway by customs officers. Many prohibited luxury items were found, and Feng Youru was held accountable as a result. Liu Erlang learned that the smuggled goods belonged to Wenquan Pharmaceutical Factory. He was furious, not expecting Leizi to have secretly done this behind his back. Interpreter Dou was so frightened that he repeatedly begged for mercy.
Matsumura learned that a large batch of antibiotics had gone missing and ended up in Chongqing. He determined that it was due to Liu Erlang's poor supervision. Xu Shu seized the opportunity to badmouth Liu Erlang in front of him. Manager Ban Yuan heard about the smuggling incident and waited expectantly, wanting to see Senior General Aoki's attitude towards the matter. Leizi was at his wit's end, extremely anxious and overwhelmed. Wu Lizi came to question him.
Leizi was furious and forcibly expelled Wu Lizi from Rebang Bank. Wu Lizi ran into Liu Erlang as she went out. Liu Erlang heard she was fired and advised her to work at a Japanese bank. Cheng Yizhi arrived in time, clearly stating that Wu Lizi was his lover. He reminded Liu Erlang to first think of a way out for himself, otherwise there would be endless trouble. Senior General Aoki sent someone to summon Liu Erlang.
Liu Erlang dared not delay and hurried back to see Senior General Aoki. Sato summoned Leizi and Zhou Wenquan for questioning. Zhou Wenquan deliberately exaggerated the quantity of the medicine. He also stated that the smuggled medicines by Leizi all belonged to the Army Staff. Leizi was so anxious that he loudly cried out for justice.
