The Justice Episode 35 Recap
> The Justice Recap
Wu Lizi brought up Senior General Aoki to threaten Liu Erlang, and only then did he leave reluctantly. Before leaving, Liu Erlang also sent Japanese secret agents to watch Wu Lizi at the door. Wu Lizi made a call in the lobby and then swaggered into the hotel. The secret agents followed closely behind her. Wu Lizi hid in the corridor, and taking advantage of their inattentiveness, she safely withdrew from the hotel.
Cheng Yizhi called around looking for Wu Lizi but had no news of her. Wu Lizi rushed home. Cheng Yizhi eagerly told her the good news about his trip to Hong Kong: from now on, he would formally engage the Japanese army economically, becoming a guerrilla fighter on the economic front. Wu Lizi was overjoyed. Cheng Yizhi spoke to Wu Lizi about the pain of missing her.
Wu Lizi sent him to take a bath, seizing the opportunity to report to her superior. The underground party courier disguised himself as Zuo Laosan to transport counterfeit money, but he was exposed on the spot. Both sides engaged in a fierce battle, resulting in ten million in counterfeit currency being unable to be transported. Liu Erlang wanted to issue reserve notes to disrupt Shanghai's financial market. Huang Ruhong disagreed, believing the time was not yet ripe.
Cheng Yizhi came to the grand theater to find Charlie, asking him to come out of retirement to short Japanese business stocks. Charlie knew that those Japanese businesses were backed by the Japanese navy and felt powerless. Cheng Yizhi suggested starting with newly listed stocks. Charlie asked shareholder Xiao Bai to buy shares of Wodefeng Dock and Angie Pharmacy, which would open tomorrow. He also found others to buy newly issued Japanese business stocks.
Wu Lizi sent people to investigate Liu Erlang's family background. They found out that he had no family, was opinionated and self-willed, and was at odds with Zhaozheng Bank. Liu Erlang had a good relationship with Huang Ruhong, and his subordinates, interpreter Dou and Leizi, were in close contact. Leizi forced the manager of Zhenhai Private Bank to distribute 100,000 reserve notes as soon as possible. Manager Song realized that Leizi wanted to work independently, cutting Huang Ruhong out.
Gao Xiaocong learned that Charlie wanted to short Japanese business stocks and promised to help him wholeheartedly. Cheng Yizhi meticulously deployed the plan. Charlie and Gao Xiaocong joined forces, causing the stocks of Takada Terminal and Yoshida Pharmacy to fall three consecutive times, eventually breaking below their issue price and forcing them to suspend trading. Other Japanese business stocks were also affected. Cheng Yizhi was very satisfied with Charlie's approach.
As soon as Wu Lizi walked out of Rebang Bank, she discovered Japanese secret agents discreetly following her. She deliberately weaved through the alleys and finally shook off their tail. Huang Ruhong actively sought out Liu Erlang, offering to quell the storm himself. However, a large sum of money was needed. Huang Ruhong asked Liu Erlang to permit his casinos and opium dens to reopen, which would allow him to raise sufficient funds in a short time.
Liu Erlang readily agreed. Huang Ruhong investigated and found that Charlie was behind the mischief. He personally came to the grand theater to find Guan Xiuyue, asking her to persuade Charlie to work for him. Guan Xiuyue made various excuses to prevaricate. Huang Ruhong promised to send her to Tianchan Grand Theater, allowing the renowned performer White Peony to share the stage with her. Guan Xiuyue was immediately swayed.
Charlie imparted his knowledge and skills of stocks to Gao Xiaocong, then went to meet Guan Xiuyue. Guan Xiuyue wanted to perform on the same stage as White Peony at Tianchan Grand Theater. Charlie promised to find a way to help her achieve her dream. Guan Xiuyue asked Charlie to cooperate with Huang Ruhong, with Huang Ruhong helping her get into Tianchan Grand Theater.
Charlie was very reluctant; he knew Huang Ruhong colluded with the Japanese, but he couldn't resist Guan Xiuyue's persistent persuasion. Leizi and interpreter Dou also came to this coffee shop for a meal. Leizi wanted to get ahead and take down Charlie. If Charlie didn't submit, he would kill him. Charlie came directly to Cheng Yizhi and Wu Lizi to resign. Both of them were surprised. Charlie admitted he was going to work for Huang Ruhong.
Cheng Yizhi learned the whole story and was helpless. Wu Lizi severely reprimanded Charlie, but his mind was made up. Cheng Yizhi wanted to talk to Charlie alone, so Wu Lizi had to leave first.
