Sweet Combat Episode 10 Recap
> Sweet Combat Recap
Song Xiaomi announced her intention to stay at Ming Tian's home, which surprised both Ming Tian and Fang Yu. Recalling how his senior classmates had helped him at Zhiying Academy, Ming Tian decided to cook a meal to show his gratitude. During the meal, Song Xiaomi was visibly infatuated with Ming Tian, while Cheng Yanan subtly expressed concern for Fang Yu, who maintained a calm exterior but felt a storm brewing inside.
The next day, Ming Tian rose early, dressed in his training gear, and began his run. Having resolved to become stronger, he understood the immense effort required. Along the way, he met Song Xiaomi, Cheng Yanan, and Fang Yu, officially commencing his training, with Sun Hao also joining the group. Sun Hao was assigned push-ups by Cheng Yanan.
Meanwhile, Song Xiaomi and Cheng Yanan focused on training Ming Tian to keep his eyes open while taking hits in the boxing ring. Fang Yu was temporarily absent due to company matters. Cheng Yanan's continuous attacks proved challenging for Ming Tian. Meanwhile, the Principals of Zhengze and Zhiying Academies met, engaging in a physical altercation that revealed them to be fellow martial arts disciples.
After decades of fighting, they were exhausted and decided to resolve the long-standing conflict between their schools through a competition. The Zhengze Principal declared that from now on, the two schools would use "more direct and effective ways" to settle their issues, specifically a "friendly school dance."
This announcement was quickly broadcast by the Director, who misinterpreted "dance" (舞) as "combat" (æ¦) and vowed to ensure Zhiying students would "walk in themselves and need to be carried out when it's over." Back at Zhengze, students expressed disdain for the dance, believing it damaged their reputation as a sports institute, especially with Zhiying students. Song Xiaomi, however, embraced the idea.
Ming Tian admitted he didn't know how to dance and hoped to opt out, a sentiment supported by Cheng Yanan. Fang Yu calmly urged them to face it. Ming Tian asked Cheng Yanan to spar with him, but she declined due to company duties. Fang Yu and her brother, Fang Zhou, conducted an inspection at a hotel.
When employees questioned Fang Zhou's capabilities, Fang Yu immediately came to his defense, highlighting his decade of experience in the Fang Group since birth, where he was destined to be the corporate heir. Fang Yu's words were gentle yet authoritative, compelling belief and demonstrating a notable change from her previously ruthless demeanor. Ming Tian made rapid progress, earning praise from Cheng Yanan.
As Cheng Yanan massaged his thigh, Song Xiaomi intervened, taking over the massage, which made Ming Tian visibly uncomfortable. Later, Fang Yu visited Ming Tian at the coffee shop where he worked. Dressed in a mascot costume, Ming Tian listened silently as Fang Yu sat beside him and confessed her troubles.
Comparing him to her bunny doll, Bonnie, which was a gift from her Uncle Ji, Fang Yu spoke of her complicated relationship with Ming Tian, revealing she had a friend who needed help but always found ways to repay her instead of simply accepting her assistance. The next day, Song Xiaomi took over Ming Tian's training, her overly affectionate behavior almost scaring him away until Cheng Yanan arrived to rescue him.
Cheng Yanan and Song Xiaomi then brought Sun Hao to their martial arts club for training. Despite his large build, Sun Hao proved to be quite fragile, creating a comical scene with his first punch. After training, the trio went to the car wash where Ming Tian worked to help him out. Fang Yu, upon hearing this, also arrived. She insisted her driver have her car washed there, which drew a complaint from Cheng Yanan.
Sun Hao then suggested Fang Yu join them, and to everyone's surprise, she readily agreed, changing into car-washing attire. Eventually, the five finished their work, collapsing into chairs. Ming Tian and Fang Yu exchanged glances. Ming Tian expressed his gratitude, admitting he wouldn't have easily accepted help in the past but now found happiness in people caring for him. He inwardly reflected on how his perspective on girls had changed.
Later, Sun Hao commented on Fang Yu's elegance, earning him a playful punishment from Cheng Yanan, who was secretly frustrated by Fang Yu's presence. Fang Yu, in an internal monologue, rationalized her actions, stating she helped Ming Tian only because he was a valuable asset to Zhengze, not out of any romantic interest. Later, Ming Tian's guardian noticed he had a fever, which Ming Tian initially denied.
At Zhiying, Ma Yichen's friends encouraged him to dress sharply for the upcoming friendly dance. Luo Guanyan confronted Ma Yichen about his upcoming match with Ming Tian, using the analogy of the tortoise and the hare to warn him against overconfidence. Ma Yichen's allies criticized Luo Guanyan for siding with the "enemy."
Luo Guanyan asserted his authority as president and demanded Ma Yichen fight Ming Tian fairly in the ring rather than target his younger siblings, to which Ma Yichen dismissively left. Fang Yu and Ming Tian went to Wutong Academy to teach. Fang Yu was affectionately called "Sister Queen" by the children. To foster their interest, Fang Yu decided to teach them a modified way to experience board breaking, with Ming Tian assisting her in a demonstration.
After class, the children lined up for her autograph. Fang Yu explained her teaching philosophy to Ming Tian, stating that one must first love the sport before committing to its difficult path. As they walked, they helped an elderly woman whose cart had fallen over. Ming Tian then questioned Fang Yu, asking why she had helped the woman today but failed to assist the grandmother in Macau.
Fang Yu explained that when she believes she has done the right thing, she does not feel the need to explain herself, adding that she hadn't known Ming Tian back then. Ming Tian apologized for his misunderstanding, and Fang Yu admitted that she had been raised to believe that money could solve any problem. Back at Zhengze, Cheng Yanan reiterated that training was paramount, not the school dance.
Song Xiaomi demonstrated a Taekwondo kick, explaining that despite her small stature, long training allowed her to use her full body weight to achieve knockout power, leading to a playful argument about weight with Cheng Yanan. Later, Cheng Yanan visited a sick Sun Hao, bringing him leftovers from a meal she had made for Ming Tian and urging him to recover quickly, expressing concern that Ming Tian and Fang Yu were growing closer.
She then took Sun Hao shopping for clothes for Ming Tian, making him try them on until his fever worsened. Later, Fang Yu began to train Ming Tian, who had been forewarned by Cheng Yanan to be careful. Sun Hao, despite his fever, unexpectedly arrived, asking Fang Yu to train him too, but he quickly collapsed. Fang Yu then challenged Ming Tian, questioning why he wouldn't punch back and asking if he was afraid to hit people.
She recalled a past traumatic memory involving someone named "Ji Gang" and his mother's selfish actions, which had deeply affected him. Fang Yu confronted Ming Tian, stating that he was targeted because he "didn't do anything," and was so scared he would rather be beaten than hit someone. Ming Tian, in an internal reflection, realized the profound impact these past events had on him. Finally, Ma Yichen confronted Ming Tian, stating he lacked the energy to fight him today and would leave after speaking.
