Mei Weiwei brought out the dishes her mother had prepared and called her father, who was repairing a watch, to dinner. Their family ran a bookstore, and she was home for a meal. Her father inquired about the upcoming track meet, expressing concern that Mei Weiwei’s special physical constitution might be exposed. Mei Weiwei, however, was unfazed and inadvertently mentioned that Mai Sichong, a boy from their school's swimming team, was training despite a severe old knee injury.
Hearing the name of an unfamiliar boy from their daughter, Mei Weiwei’s parents’ interest was piqued. Just then, Mei Weiwei spotted Mai Sichong outside the window. Having specifically asked Li Daixi for Mei Weiwei’s home address to invite her to eat, Mai Sichong appeared directly at their bookstore. Mei Weiwei’s parents observed their daughter’s conversation with the handsome stranger with knowing smiles. To quickly usher Mai Sichong away from her parents, Mei Weiwei promptly accepted his dinner invitation.
Meanwhile, Li Daixi worried that Mai Sichong and Mei Weiwei still hadn’t shown any signs of a developing relationship, despite her providing Mei Weiwei’s address to test their connection. She, who was aware of Mei Weiwei’s special abilities, feared that any spark between them would be fleeting, a mere illusion of love. Ding Yi, overhearing this, mistakenly believed Li Daixi still harbored feelings for Mai Sichong. Li Daixi, however, adamantly declared she had long lost interest in him.
Though secretly pleased, Ding Yi couldn't resist asking about her current crush. The usually assertive Li Daixi became shy and flustered, leading to their usual playful banter and chasing. Later that night, Mei Weiwei sat awake on her bed, deep in thought. Dinner with Mai Sichong had been surprisingly different; he had abandoned his usual rough demeanor, constantly serving her food and meticulously picking out unwanted ingredients from her plate.
Mei Weiwei initially suspected he was under the influence of her electric power, caught in a false sense of love, as had happened many times before. Yet, Mai Sichong had directly denied it, claiming he was not affected by her electricity and that his actions were genuine, making her feel more energetic and wanting to treat her better because of her, not her powers. Now, Mai Sichong appeared completely normal, and these seemingly unusual behaviors were indeed his conscious actions.
This left Mei Weiwei bewildered. A call from Li Daixi intensified her dilemma, as Li Daixi firmly stated that Mai Sichong truly liked her. In every intimate encounter, Mei Weiwei had forced herself to believe it was merely her electric power at work. But now, she had no more excuses. Accustomed to the "illusion of love" brought on by her superpower, Mei Weiwei found herself completely at a loss when faced with someone’s genuine feelings.
Mei Weiwei’s mother entered her daughter's bedroom with a cup of hot milk. She gently asked about Mei Weiwei’s boyfriend, to which Mei Weiwei shyly deflected. Her mother, understanding her daughter’s heart, earnestly advised her that true love was simple: finding someone who could accept and tolerate her special constitution. Mei Weiwei, pondering her mother's words, looked thoughtful. The next day, the class leader, Baihui, announced their need for another person for the relay race.
Everyone began trying to persuade Jun Jun to join, but her introverted and timid nature made her unsuitable for competition. Mei Weiwei was troubled, but Mai Sichong, sitting opposite her, offered comfort. On his phone, a chat window with Jun Jun popped up, revealing her similar distress about being unable to help. Mai Sichong, however, encouraged her and even offered to pay for a year’s worth of her snacks if she joined.
Hearing this, Jun Jun secretly made up her mind. After class, Baihui officially announced Jun Jun’s addition to the team, to everyone's delight. When Mei Weiwei asked about it, she discovered Mai Sichong’s words had swayed Jun Jun. Li Daixi straightforwardly pointed out the mutual affection between Mai Sichong and Mei Weiwei. Mei Weiwei, not to be outdone, teased Li Daixi about her subtle feelings for Ding Yi, making Li Daixi blush and shyly retreat.
Mai Sichong found Mei Weiwei waiting for him downstairs by the dorm building, a wave of joy washing over him. Mei Weiwei presented him with a gift she had prepared. Their affectionate banter was observed by Xia Rui, who was passing by. Mei Weiwei, startled, quickly fled back to her dorm, while Mai Sichong couldn’t help but chuckle to himself. The four-person relay team arrived at the track to begin training, jogging laps to warm up.
An exhausted Mei Weiwei decided to head to the cafeteria. Surprisingly, the usually introverted Jun Jun also expressed a desire to join her, determined to overcome her fear of crowds. Though still a bit shy, she bravely endured her significant anxiety. Later, on the quiet track, Jun Jun ran with effort. Xia Rui appeared nearby, already aware of Jun Jun’s unspoken crush on Mai Sichong.
Watching Jun Jun push herself, Xia Rui felt a pang of regret but maintained his quiet chivalry, staying by her side. Xia Rui led Jun Jun to breakfast, his encouragement giving her strength to persevere. Meanwhile, Mei Weiwei worried that a sudden change in the weather might trigger her unique physical reactions. The race began. Just as the whistle blew, the relay team members ran with all their might. But despite the clear sky, a rumbling thunder was heard.
Mai Sichong tried to persuade Mei Weiwei to leave, but her determined gaze stopped him. Baihui, running the third leg, stumbled and fell on the track. Seeing them about to fall behind, Mai Sichong decisively took the relay baton and ran in Baihui’s place. As Mei Weiwei took the last baton, she fell on the track due to exhaustion. A sudden downpour caused the gathered crowd to scatter.
Mei Weiwei stood alone on the other side of the track, feeling helpless and lost. Mai Sichong saw her solitary figure and, undeterred by the throng of people, rushed toward her. When he finally broke through the obstacles, Mei Weiwei stopped him, warning that her electric powers were out of control in the rain and could harm him with contact. However, Mai Sichong was no longer afraid.
He embraced Mei Weiwei tightly as their friends, who had not left, watched them embrace in the rain. Mai Sichong finally gave voice to his long-held feelings, softly expressing his deep love for Mei Weiwei amidst the downpour. Unexpectedly, Mei Weiwei, who always used to avoid or ignore her feelings, finally chose to confront her own heart and reciprocated Mai Sichong's love.
