Shen Zhiheng uncovered the truth behind Chi Shanying's violent law enforcement and seizure, and had the magazine publish the news. Hearing Shen Zhiheng open the door, Li Yingliang couldn't wait to cling to the door and repeatedly admit fault, just begging to be released. However, Shen Zhiheng handed him the magazine and newspaper exposing Chi Shanying’s actions. This completely cut off Li Yingliang's escape route—he wouldn't be able to stand his ground even if he got out.

Chi Shanying would never let him go, and his bank account had already been frozen. Now he had nothing left and was destined to perish here. Enraged by the exposure of his crimes, Chi Shanying lost his temper on the spot. Shengzi went to Jin Jingxue in the middle of the night for help—Jin Jingxue was the only one who could save her now.

Hearing that Li Yingliang had been missing for three days, Jin Jingxue immediately became anxious and was eager to change clothes and go find Shen Zhiheng. She called the Shen residence, and the call was answered by Mi Lan, who said Shen Zhiheng was not home that night. Mi Lan claimed to be Shen Zhiheng’s younger sister, but Jin Jingxue didn’t believe her. After leaving the Jin family home, Shengzi was captured by the Haidong Army.

When Shen Zhiheng returned home, he learned that Jin Jingxue had called but didn’t respond. Second Uncle Jin, upon learning what Li Yingliang had done, earnestly tried to persuade Jin Jingxue, stating that the Jin family had no ties to Li Yingliang. But Jin Jingxue disagreed—if Li Yingliang did something wrong, he would bear the consequences himself, but she would never accept anyone claiming he had no connection to the Jin family.

Mu Lihua captured many people, hoping to train a new generation of Yinmo, but failed each time. Their bodies were too weak. She had no choice but to ask Chi Shanying for troops again. When she mentioned her brother, Chi Shanying reluctantly agreed for the time being. Shen Zhiheng took Mi Lan shopping at the department store. Under Situ Weilian's guidance, Jin Jingxue met the two. While Shen Zhiheng and Jin Jingxue negotiated, Mi Lan and Situ Weilian had fun.

Seeing Jin Jingxue lose control and strike Shen Zhiheng, Mi Lan immediately retaliated, but her strength had surpassed that of ordinary people. With one punch, she sent Jin Jingxue crashing into a car window. Situ Weilian couldn’t stand it and joined the chaos. It turned into a brawl between Mi Lan and Jin Jingxue, with Shen Zhiheng scolding his own brother. After the fight, Jin Jingxue and Mi Lan both left with pride, parting on bad terms.

Shen Zhiheng then turned to scold Mi Lan—her temper had gotten worse. But to Mi Lan, hitting him was like hitting herself, and she had taken too many beatings over the years. Hearing this, Shen Zhiheng softened and took her to buy a new hat. Jin Jingxue stormed home and shut Situ Weilian out. Situ Weilian then went to the Shen residence, demanding justice.

He feared that with Li Yingliang missing, Jin Jingxue would be overwhelmed with grief, leaving him no chance. Shen Zhiheng didn’t agree with Situ Weilian’s view on love but agreed to release the prisoner. When Shen Zhiheng went to see Li Yingliang, he found him singing opera, stirring memories of Xiao Liangzi. By now, Li Yingliang’s mind had become unhinged.

He hysterically accused Shen Zhiheng of letting his sister die, but Shen Zhiheng had been on the verge of madness from bloodlust at the time. If she had approached, she would’ve been the first to suffer. Shen Zhiheng told Li Yingliang that it was the cruel world that killed his sister, and he should never have helped Chi Shanying commit such evil. Li Yingliang tearfully begged Shen Zhiheng for mercy, even kneeling to admit his wrongs.

Shen Zhiheng was about to unlock the door but stopped when he caught a flash of hatred in Li Yingliang’s eyes—he hadn’t truly repented.
