Chen Hao and Hua Zhen came to the Lanhe Restaurant. This was the restaurant that made the call to the pawnshop, and it was this restaurant that mailed the photo to the pawnshop. Hua Zhen had also been here before while tracking the murderer. At the Lanhe Restaurant, Hua Zhen asked about the staff working there. A waiter said that the person who made the saury dish that day was a Japanese student named Yoshida Hideo.

Hearing that this person had just taken a month off, Chen Hao and Hua Zhen quietly snuck into the staff locker room. In Yoshida Hideo's locker, they found a Japanese school uniform and also discovered the button Luo Minmin had clutched in her hand when she was injured. Hua Zhen had seen this person before, and now he was even more certain that this Yoshida Hideo was the murderer of the Meng couple.

He and Chen Hao were on the road planning to search for schools with this kind of uniform when they were suddenly ambushed from behind. Chen Hao was a bit puzzled when he heard this, wondering if he wasn't the police team captain. Shi Junyu found the underground party's liaison through the signals in the newspaper. It was Qiao Jianshi. Qiao Jianshi gave Shi Junyu a photo showing a "venomous fang" left in China by the Japanese and puppet forces.

He also brought news that the organization had originally planned to send him to Nanjing to rescue Deng Mingyuan, but Deng Mingyuan was worried that more comrades would sacrifice themselves because of his rescue, so he refused the organization's plan to send people to rescue him. Seeing Deng Mingyuan's handwritten letter, Shi Junyu was moved to tears.

Qiao Jianshi also asked Shi Junyu to reactivate the radio station and be responsible for contacting the central headquarters and Shanghai from then on. Yoshida Hideo's accomplice was the murderer who severely injured Luo Minmin that night. For secrecy, they switched and sent another comrade instead. Hua Zhen knew Luo Minmin was in a bad mood, so he quietly took her out for a change of scenery. They evaded Luo's father's watch.

Hua Zhen took Luo Minmin boating by the river. The evening breeze by the river was fresh and pleasant. Hua Zhen and Luo Minmin chatted about basic knowledge of boats and shared some interesting experiences they had personally encountered. Hua Zhen's face showed a smile he hadn't displayed in a long time. Danger was approaching. At home, Luo's father was scolding Luo Tianxiang and his sister for confessing without being asked, thus covering for Luo Minmin's departure.

Just then, there was a knock on the door. Luo's father opened the door and saw a Japanese person speaking broken Chinese. The person claimed to be from a newspaper and wanted to interview Luo Minmin about her heroic deeds, and also asked how they found Meng Duo Ci. Luo's father had never even heard of Meng Duo Ci's name and directly kicked the Japanese person out.

Just as the Japanese person pulled out a pistol, ready to force his way in and attack, a voice calling at the door was heard from behind him, and the Japanese person immediately hid. The visitors were new police officers from Team Four. They had brought some nutritional supplements to visit Luo Minmin, but they unexpectedly saved Luo Minmin's family's lives with this visit. Luo's father wasn't polite at all with these friends who came to visit.

He waited until Hua Zhen brought Luo Minmin back. Luo's father said in surprise that there had just been a Japanese person who claimed to be Luo Tianxiang's friend. Luo Tianxiang immediately replied that he had no Japanese friends. Then, Hua Zhen was greatly startled when he heard Luo's father say that the Japanese person had also asked him about Meng Duo Ci.
