All in Time Weekly reporter He Shan received a call from her friend Fei Ke, who said he had something to hand to her in person. He Shan immediately took a taxi to the airport to meet with Fei Ke. She did see Fei Ke at the airport, but unexpectedly, before the two could even speak, Fei Ke foamed at the mouth and fainted not far from He Shan.

Emergency responders performed CPR on Fei Ke and then took him to the hospital. Emergency responders asked He Shan about her relationship to the patient. He Shan did not say Fei Ke's name, and therefore could not get on the ambulance. Meanwhile, in her hand, she clutched the memory card Fei Ke had given her. She didn't know what this item was for, or why Fei Ke would give it to her.

What He Shan could not have imagined was that something shocking was happening inside the ambulance at that moment. Not long after this, He Shan went to work as usual and on an ordinary day received an obituary notice. The letter stated that Fei Ke had passed away due to illness, and a memorial service was scheduled for April 8th on Chong'an Island, the deceased's former residence.

At that time, the deceased's will would be read, which mentioned He Shan herself. On April 8th, He Shan arrived by car at the agreed-upon location for getting onto the island. The person who picked her up was named Liu Mo, the boss's driver and assistant, responsible for arranging everyone's passage to the island. On the boat, besides Liu Mo, who was responsible for driving, there was also a stern-looking stranger, a man named Cheng Hao.

About twenty minutes later, the three successfully arrived on the island and reached Fei Ke's former residence. Inside the house, a middle-aged man with a full head of white hair, Chen Shufa, was already waiting. Cheng Hao initially mistook him for one of Fei Ke's relatives. Two more people mentioned in Fei Ke's will had not yet arrived. While waiting, Cheng Hao extinguished Chen Shufa's cigarette butt and put it in his pocket.

Chen Shufa and He Shan, who had their backs to him, did not notice. Shortly after, the other two, Zhang Xuan and Su Qian, also arrived together. Zhang Xuan was more outgoing and talkative, suggesting they introduce themselves. Cheng Hao said he was unemployed, He Shan said she was a reporter, Chen Shufa said he was the chairman of Nanlin Mining with diabetes, and Su Qian simply said she was an ordinary person. None of the five knew each other.

Why were they mentioned in the will? And why were these five people asked to attend this memorial service? Liu Mo took them to the basement and asked each of them to share their experiences of knowing Fei Ke and other related stories before the will could be read. This inexplicable demand made everyone resistant. He Shan was the first to lift the coffin lid. It was empty; there was no sign of Fei Ke's body at all.

Liu Mo, however, left by himself and locked the door, stating that they had to do as he said to see Fei Ke. Since things had come to this, everyone tacitly agreed to He Shan's suggestion, deciding to genuinely treat this as a memorial service and each recount the Fei Ke they knew. However, the very first thing struck everyone as strange: the Fei Ke in their respective WeChat contacts were not the same person.

Chen Shufa was the first to talk about the Fei Ke he knew. According to his account, Fei Ke was not only his son-in-law but also a murderer. In the spring of 2014, Fei Ke met Chen Shufa's daughter, Chen Jiajia. After knowing each other for just half a year, they were already talking about marriage.

Chen Shufa did not approve of Fei Ke as a son-in-law, but since Chen Jiajia liked him very much, Chen Shufa had no choice but to agree to meet Fei Ke. The original plan was to meet at a Western restaurant, but considering that the food there might not suit Chen Shufa's taste, Fei Ke proactively suggested cooking at his home.

Chen Shufa and his daughter went to another one of Fei Ke's houses, located near the outer ring road on Songshan Road. Cheng Hao immediately confirmed the specific location with Chen Shufa, and then said that was not Fei Ke's house, but Cheng Hao's own home.
