Xie Xiaochun, noticing strange transfers from her brother, asked a neighbor to watch the children and went to investigate. On the way, Xie Xiaochun encountered Xu Hongdou and Xie Anai and gave them a ride. Xie Anai lied, saying they were going to town for hotpot. Xie Xiaochun didn’t question it, but Xie Zhiyao, seeing his grandmother suddenly appear, realized something was wrong and hurried to the hotpot restaurant. Xie Zhiyuan thought his grandmother would be overjoyed to see him.

Just as he spread his arms for a hug, she raised a ladle and beat him in front of everyone, shocking Xu Hongdou into stunned silence. When Xie Zhiyao arrived and tried to stop her, he ended up getting hit by mistake, and chaos erupted. Afterward, Xie Anai stayed to eat at the hotpot place. Xie Zhiyao urged his brother to return to work, then confessed the truth to his grandmother.

He had come to the ancient town alone to find Xie Zhiyuan and saw him with Brother Liang. Under pressure, Brother Liang had agreed to report on Xie Zhiyuan’s status every day. Upon hearing this, Xu Hongdou suddenly understood why Xie Zhiyao hadn’t seemed worried at all. Xie Anai gradually calmed down and no longer pursued the matter of Xie Zhiyuan running away.

Xu Hongdou got along very well with her, and the three took a group photo at the hotpot restaurant. Xie Xiaochun finally found her brother selling rushan with a sign on the street. She felt deeply unsettled. Even though she would help cover his loss, she sternly scolded him, warning him not to focus only on immediate gains—some things take time to build.
