Xie’s father drank quite a bit and staggered home, emotional as he looked at the streetlights glowing at the entrance of the village. He reminisced that when the first streetlight was lit in Yunmiao Village, Xie Zhiyao’s grandfather had told everyone that the village would become just like the city. Now that Yunmiao Village had developed so well, Xie’s father felt genuinely happy.

He used to try everything to stop his son from returning to the village to start a business, but thinking back now, he realized he had been a bit stubborn. That day, Xu Hongdou dreamed of her school days with Chen Nanxing, wearing the ring Chen Nanxing had made for her. Upon waking, she heard a knock at the door and saw Xie Zhiyao standing there with flowers, giving her a sweet good morning kiss.

Since Auntie Agui had gone to Qingdao to visit her children, Aunt Feng was temporarily cleaning the guesthouse in her place. Damai and Lin Na were cooking in the kitchen until Xu Hongdou came downstairs and couldn’t help but ask how things were going with her future mother-in-law. Xu Hongdou had a good impression of Xie Zhiyao’s stepmother, but today she was busy with the renovation of the guesthouse.

After breakfast, Damai accompanied her out, and along the way, they met many enthusiastic villagers. Even Tuotuo’s parents had decided to return to the village to develop their lives. As Xie Qiang was about to be released from prison, Aunt Feng grew increasingly uneasy. She proactively discussed with Xie Zhiyao the idea of having Xie Qiang work at the ranch.

Xie Zhiyao readily agreed, but was curious why she didn’t want her son to stay home for a few more days. She admitted she was afraid that village gossip might hurt her son. But Xie Zhiyao believed that Xie Qiang was already an adult who had paid the price for his actions. Times had changed, and he trusted that people would give him a second chance. For that reason, Xie Zhiyao suggested holding a banquet to welcome Xie Qiang home.

Feeling the care of his family, Xie Qiang would naturally regain his confidence and live well. Bai Manjun headed out with various jars to plant saplings. Seeing this, Hu Youyu quickly rode over to take her there and offered his opinions along the way. However, Bai Manjun ignored him completely, and her attitude made Hu Youyu very upset. He accused her of being fickle like other women—casting him aside after getting him.

Hearing this, Bai Manjun couldn’t help but laugh and explained that there was a large age gap between them and that she had a daughter still in high school, which might make Hu Youyu feel pressured. In fact, Hu Youyu hadn’t fully figured out their relationship either, but he knew he truly enjoyed being with Bai Manjun. Sure enough, Bai Manjun smiled, implying there was still hope for them.

Xie Xiaochun took her daughter and Ah Hui to a nearby restaurant to eat. Coincidentally, Luo Quan was there entertaining clients. When she saw her ex-husband humbling himself to play with a client’s child, she felt a little uncomfortable. Meanwhile, the increasing number of tourists in the village inspired some villagers to consider starting guesthouses or businesses. However, some of their ideas were unrealistic, leaving the village committee overwhelmed.

Everyone was busy in meetings until late at night, and it wasn’t until Xu Hongdou came to pick up Xie Zhiyao that things wrapped up. On the way back, Xie Zhiyao learned that Xu Hongdou had been supervising the entire time and, drawing on his own experience, shared advice with her. He hoped she could trust the workers, because problems would arise whether she was present or not. It was better to let the workers do their job thoroughly.

Champion found out that Xie Qiang was about to be released and prepared to accompany Xie Zhiyao to pick him up. Luo Quan heard that Xie Xiaochun had a new suitor and couldn't help asking about his background. Xie Xiaochun told Luo Quan to mind his own life—they were divorced and had no reason to interfere with each other anymore. As for their child’s schooling, that would be decided separately.

On the day Xie Qiang was released, it was drizzling and cold. He stood at the prison gate, lost and afraid. Fortunately, Xie Zhiyao and Champion arrived in time, and the long-closed-off heart of his felt a bit of warmth. Meanwhile, Aunt Feng and her husband busied themselves preparing a banquet for friends and relatives. She also invited Xu Hongdou and Damai to attend and introduced them enthusiastically. Damai was shy, while Xu Hongdou was calm and composed.

As they were talking, they suddenly saw Xie Zhiyao and Champion arriving with Xie Qiang. Both Anai and Father were extremely excited, and the long-awaited reunion was deeply moving. At first, Damai imagined Xie Qiang to be a burly man, but was surprised to find he looked quite ordinary.
