After the rain, the air was especially fresh. Before dawn, Xu Hongdou went out to watch the sunrise, recording the whole scene on her phone. Xie Zhiyao silently accompanied her. The deep blue sky, pristine white clouds, and endless green grasslands made for a beautiful picture. When the sun was high, Xu Hongdou pointed the camera at Xie Zhiyao and jokingly said she would find him a girlfriend.

After careful consideration, Ma Qiushan decided to continue pursuing his teahouse dream and left Dali to start anew. The departure of an old friend from the Wind Courtyard left Damai and Hu Youyu—both feeling uninspired—particularly downcast. The two sat in silence, eventually deciding to lease a piece of land in Yunmiao Village.

Damai wanted to plant a sea of flowers; Hu Youyu wanted to grow the sun and began singing a nursery rhyme, as if the song could dispel the gloom and light their path ahead. Meanwhile, Xie Xiaochun noticed that Lin Na was in low spirits and learned that she was worried about Damai. Xie Xiaochun shared her own experiences with her master to inspire her.

That night, Xu Hongdou and Lin Na cooked a late-night meal, with Damai absent, and even the usually enthusiastic Hu Youyu had gone to bed early. Xu Hongdou thought it was normal—after all, for artistic types like Damai, emotional fluctuations were common during creative slumps. Seeing they’d cooked too much, Lin Na jokingly suggested calling over Xu Hongdou’s “husband-to-be.

” Xie Zhiyao came to the Wind Courtyard immediately after getting the message and analyzed that Hu Youyu’s mood was mainly due to being discouraged by Father Xie. The next morning, Sunzi invited Damai to watch her film the promotional video and shared her own experiences working on film crews. Though often tired, she loved her job and found it full of interesting stories. Sunzi also mentioned how Huang Xinxin used to stutter badly in school.

To change this, she joined the debate team and eventually overcame her stutter through sheer determination, becoming even better than before. Since the kindergarten music teacher had resigned and no suitable replacement could be found in time, Xie Xiaochun thought of Hu Youyu and invited him to use his talents to teach the children to sing. With no way to refuse, Hu Youyu reluctantly went on stage to play the piano and sing.

Hearing the children laugh and clap filled his heart with joy and cleared away his inner gloom. While chatting in the café, Xu Hongdou and Lin Na gossiped about the origin of Sunzi’s name and found it very amusing. Just then, Xu’s parents called to say they’d received the specialty products she mailed. Dali ham was tough, and Xu’s dad found the kitchen knife useless and had to borrow one from the neighbors.

Granny Caiyu was worried sick about Xu Hongdou and Xie Zhiyao, urging them to marry soon. Xu Hongdou insisted they were just friends. While everyone was talking, Xie Zhiyao came in with sour papayas for Xu Hongdou. Everyone else puckered their faces from the taste, but Xu Hongdou remained perfectly calm. Auntie Gui received an invitation from her daughter to go to Qingdao to help take care of her granddaughter and was overjoyed.

She gave gifts to everyone in the village and proudly boasted about having such good children. Auntie Feng, listening to her, felt a deep longing for her own children and quietly cried in the corner after she left. As the promotional video shooting reached a fever pitch, it showcased rich local culture—music, dance, instruments, and intangible heritage. Sunzi initially wanted Lin Na to appear on camera, but Damai quickly stepped in to help her out.

Auntie Baoping dressed up the children with rosy cheeks and red dots on their foreheads, making them look adorable and funny. Xu Hongdou and Xie Zhiyao smiled silently and took photos with the cute kids. Under Sunzi’s direction, Xu Hongdou and Xie Zhiyao acted as a couple, walking along the beach with a white horse. Sunzi told them to hold hands.

Xu Hongdou did so naturally, but Xie Zhiyao became very nervous and eventually ended up with her holding his arm instead. Normally eloquent, Xie Zhiyao stammered at that moment, and simply began talking about Ma Qiushan. Now, he helps with housework and accompanies his parents every day.
