The weather in the mountains is ever-changing. It had just been sunny and clear, but suddenly there was thunder and lightning. Everyone scrambled to pack up the clothes and tea sets. Xie Xiaochun complained that Xie Zhiyao had only considered the environment and should have installed a rain shelter in the first place. Xie Zhiyao handed umbrellas to Anai and another elderly lady, reminding them to be careful on their way back to avoid slipping.

In the days that followed, Xu Hongdou began learning to meditate in the courtyard with Ma Qiushan. Although Ma Qiushan had started earlier, compared to Xu Hongdou, it was like a master meeting a novice. At first, Hu Youyu didn’t believe it at all and even bet with Damai, but ended up losing completely. That evening, Hu Youyu was uninspired and tried to start an online romance with a female fan, only to be blocked on WeChat.

Xu Hongdou received a message from Xie Zhiyao inviting her over for dinner. Xu Hongdou had intended to politely decline, but Xie Zhiyao seemed so enthusiastic that he came early in the morning to wake her up and took her to the market. Damai hoped to become a meaningful writer, Lin Na preferred her current life, and Xu Hongdou seemed a bit lost. Recalling what everyone had said and done, Xu Hongdou began seriously thinking about her own aspirations. She seemed to develop interest in Xie Zhiyao’s proposal and decided to join the café to help improve things. After receiving her message, Xie Zhiyao dressed neatly the next day and came to pick her up for the café.

Xu Hongdou wore a semi-formal suit and set three ground rules with Xie Zhiyao, saying she didn’t want to be in an employer-employee relationship with him. Xie Zhiyao readily agreed and promised to thank her with the best local food. On her first day at the café, Xu Hongdou implemented strict rules and taught Anai Xiuying and Anai Caiyun about hygiene, patiently explaining the pros and cons. This not only ensured cleanliness but also demonstrated professionalism to the guests.

However, as Xu Hongdou spoke, Anai Xiuying suddenly changed the topic to relationships, asking whether she and Xie Zhiyao were dating and urging them to hurry up and settle their marital matters, or risk missing the chance to have children and grandchildren. Fortunately, Xu Hongdou personally taught the elderly ladies step by step. Under her guidance, they gradually got used to using different cloths for cleaning, and the café became well-organized.

Once Xu Hongdou implemented meticulous management and clarified staff discipline, instances of tardiness and early leave began to decrease. Xie Zhiyao felt deeply grateful for her contribution and took her to the stables to witness the birth of a foal. After a long wait, when they heard the mare neighing, Xu Hongdou knew the birth was near. She eagerly recorded the moment on her phone to share with friends and relatives.
