Xie Tianjun questioned Xuan Qing about whether he was hiding something, but Xuan Qing didn’t reveal the truth. He only asked Xie Tianjun not to probe further and to simply follow Yuan Beichen’s arrangements. Upon learning that Yuan Beichen had died and was to be thrown into Youhun Valley for burial, Mo Xiao rushed back to Shushan without hesitation. Xiaolangtou reminded Mo Xiao not to mention anything about the fishing village once he returned.

After kneeling in respect, Mo Xiao departed. On his way back, Mo Xiao overheard people’s discussions. They all believed Murong Changfeng was the good one, and that both Mo Xiao and Yuan Beichen were demons. It was only right for the master and disciple to be expelled. Even the disciples of Luntian Sect blamed Mo Xiao for everything, saying that if not for him, the sect wouldn’t have been sealed.

Mo Xiao suddenly appeared behind them and carried away Yuan Beichen’s body, insisting on burying him in the Sea of Rebirth. Murong Changfeng had already anticipated that Mo Xiao wasn’t dead. Watching Mo Xiao carry Yuan Beichen’s body, he reproached him, saying that although Mo Xiao hadn’t committed evil, being born the demon lord’s son was already a sin. Yuan Beichen was also wrong for taking him in, so they both had to bear the consequences.

Murong Changfeng demanded that Mo Xiao hand over the Sect Leader Token, and only then would he allow a funeral for Yuan Beichen at Luntian Sect, with the body sent to the Sea of Rebirth. However, after burying Yuan Beichen, Mo Xiao did not hand over the Sect Leader Token. He said that since his master wouldn’t have done so, neither would he.

Enraged, Murong Changfeng tried to kill Mo Xiao, but then realized Mo Xiao had no spiritual presence—his powers had been sealed. He had returned to Shushan with the body of a mortal. Murong Changfeng felt even less threatened and tried to kill him publicly, but Xiaolangtou’s water dragon saved Mo Xiao just in time. Wushuang had been anxiously waiting for news about Mo Xiao, fearing that he might already be dead.

At that moment, Xuyuan Yunchao, who had been out gathering information, returned and reported that Mo Xiao was still alive. He had also received a message from Xuan Qing requesting a meeting and had passed on Yuan Beichen’s final instructions. Inside the package was something meant for Mo Xiao. Wushuang deduced that Mo Xiao was likely in the winged clan village by the Lishui River.

She promised to deliver the items to him, as she was originally the winged clan’s saintess. Back then, she had fallen in love with Yeyan and fled with him, giving birth to Mo Xiao—who was, in fact, the grandson of the clan leader. After returning, Xuyuan Yunchao accompanied Wushuang to the fishing village by the Lishui River. Upon hearing the news, Chong Guang ordered Changming to follow them in secret but not to interfere unless absolutely necessary.

Changming also informed Chong Guang that Feng Lixue was no longer on Mount Suyu, shocking him. When Mo Xiao regained consciousness, he found Shi Bujiu standing in front of him. Before they could speak much, Murong Changfeng arrived with people from Shushan. Knowing Murong Changfeng came with ill intentions, Xiaolangtou urged Shi Bujiu to take Mo Xiao and the villagers into hiding. Anticipating such a day, he had already arranged for the village to be rebuilt in advance.

Mo Xiao didn’t want to leave, but Shi Bujiu forced him to go. Xiaolangtou was no match for Murong Changfeng in battle, but Wushuang and Xuyuan Yunchao arrived just in time and defeated Murong Changfeng. Xiaolangtou was injured in the process. Upon waking, he blamed Wushuang for risking everyone’s safety due to her personal emotions. Now that he had also endangered the villagers to save Mo Xiao, he hoped Wushuang would take Mo Xiao and never return.

All the while, Feng Lixue had been silently observing from the shadows. Wushuang came to visit Mo Xiao. When he awoke from his coma and saw Wushuang, his heart was filled with resentment. He believed Yuan Beichen’s death and the villagers’ suffering were all because he was the son of the demon lord.
