Psych-Hunter Episode 8 Recap
> Psych-Hunter Recap
At the British High Commission, Jack's nephew immediately ordered for the Clock of Eternity to be confiscated, declaring that China did not deserve such outstanding horology techniques. Without hesitation, Wu Liang activated the clock, hypnotizing everyone present and killing Ambassador Robin. Chief Bai and his officers rushed to the scene but found Ambassador Robin already dead and Wu Liang gone. Meanwhile, Yuan Muqing, who had been secretly trailing Wu Liang, followed him to his clock shop.
She was discovered by Wu Liang, knocked unconscious, and confined within the shop. After Jiang Shuo spotted Wu Liang at Changshanzhou Station, Wu Liang promptly activated the Clock of Eternity. Everyone at the station fell under its hypnotic spell, including Wu Liang himself.
In his dream, Wu Liang relived painful memories: he saw how Master Wu had sacrificed his own son to save him, a descendant of the Qiu family, whose family had been tragically killed due to Master Wu's earlier actions. Wu Liang witnessed Master Wu's subsequent suffering, begging and enduring humiliation just to raise him. Realizing the immense sacrifice his master had made, Wu Liang found himself unable to blame him.
In reality, Master Wu arrived at the station and woke Wu Liang from his trance. They quickly boarded a train, but just as they were escaping, Master Wu was shot and killed. Wu Liang held his master, crying uncontrollably. Suddenly, a voice echoed, telling him it wasn't too late to regret. Wu Liang then woke up again, realizing he had been hypnotized by Jiang Shuo.
Jiang Shuo and his companions informed Wu Liang that Master Wu was, in fact, still alive. Overwhelmed with relief, Wu Liang pleaded to see his master, and Chief Bai agreed. Before leaving, a conscience-stricken Wu Liang confessed to Jiang Shuo that Yuan Muqing was trapped in the clock shop. Jiang Shuo immediately raced to the shop, where he found Yuan Muqing encased in a glass tank that was rapidly filling with water from the heavy rain.
He plunged into the tank to save her, and Jiang Shuo and Yuan Muqing nearly died. Luckily, Chief Bai and Qin Yiheng arrived just in time, shooting the glass tank to shatter it and rescue them both. After the ordeal, Jiang Shuo woke up eight days later. Qin Yiheng informed him that Wu Liang had been executed and Master Wu, unable to bear the loss, had gone insane.
Jiang Shuo and Qin Yiheng revisited the clock shop, where they discovered a clue left by Liu Zhi: a hidden painting under a table. Analyzing the symbols, Jiang Shuo deduced that Liu Zhi intended for them to follow a set of seven "game rules" to find him. The house represented Wang Qian's case, the two children symbolized Bin and Xin'er's case, and the clock signified the Clock of Eternity. They suspected the next case would be related to a cat.
Feeling indebted to Jiang Shuo for saving her life, Yuan Muqing paid him a visit, bringing gifts for the compound. She presented Jiang Shuo with a precious pocket watch, a unique gift from her brother that was very special to her. Jiang Shuo, already smitten with Yuan Muqing, was overjoyed. Meanwhile, the Qin family was facing significant challenges. Since the disappearance of the Qin patriarch, various factions vied for control of their extensive port businesses.
The Liu family had seized half of the Qin family's ports. Qin Yiheng's elder brother, Qin Da Shao, furious at the loss, sought Qin Yiheng's help, urging him to return and manage the family enterprises. Qin Da Shao emphasized that their father's hard-earned legacy could not be destroyed, especially with everyone in Changshanzhou watching their family. However, Qin Yiheng insisted he needed more time to find his father and had no mind to do anything else.
Infuriated, Qin Da Shao dismissed Qin Yiheng from his doctor's position at the family-affiliated hospital and confiscated all his residences within the Qin estate, an ultimatum that would only be lifted if he agreed to co-manage the family businesses. Left with no other option, Qin Yiheng made his way to Jiang Shuo's courtyard. Concurrently, Yuan Muqing returned to De Yang Girls' School for her upcoming exams.
Her classmates quickly updated her on strange occurrences: Li Jing had gone missing, and Zhao Meng had become erratic, insisting that Liu Fang Hui was the murderer. As Yuan Muqing approached Zhao Meng, she was intercepted by Liu Fang Hui, who chatted with her, inadvertently distracting Yuan Muqing. Moments later, Zhao Meng charged at Liu Fang Hui, accusing her of being a murderer. An angry Liu Fang Hui stormed off.
Yuan Muqing gently embraced Zhao Meng, calming her down, and decided to take her to Qin Yiheng for medical help. At the same time, Jiang Shuo and the residents of the courtyard were contemplating ways to boost their income. Just then, Qin Yiheng arrived, driving up and inquiring about renting a room to establish a clinic, aiming to provide medical care to the people. Jiang Shuo, seeing an opportunity, tried to charge him a hefty rent.
However, Master Bu Yan intervened, stating that Qin Yiheng was a friend and should not be charged. Qin Yiheng assured them he would pay the deposit directly to Master Bu Yan, skillfully sidestepping Jiang Shuo's attempt to profit. Everyone enthusiastically helped Qin Yiheng move his belongings into the courtyard.
