Pei Youyou woke up to find herself in bed with Yi Han and cried out. Lu Ming, who was waiting outside, heard the commotion and asked if his sister was okay. Pei Youyou, wearing Yi Han's clothes, confirmed she was fine. Yi Han quickly explained that Pei Youyou has a "waking-up temper" and playfully added that she bullies him this way every morning, yet he still finds her adorable.
He then suggested Lu Ming stay a few more days, though Lu Ming still felt that his sister and brother-in-law were acting strangely. Later, at the table read for the film "Remaining Life", Yi Han arrived with twenty seconds to spare, just before the session began. He was to play the second male lead, Shen Bing.
The actor playing the main lead subtly mocked Yi Han's lateness, recalling how Yi Han was already a lead when he was just a sidekick during their first film together. Yi Han retorted that his co-star's current lead role was due to the director's good judgment.
When Director Liu Tiannuo expressed surprise at Yi Han's presence, as he wasn't playing the main lead, Yi Han explained his choice was to play Shen Bing, whose layered character—a lonely orphan with a complex mix of love and hate, saved by the female lead—appealed to him more than the straightforward main role.
Director Liu Tiannuo was amazed, noting that Yi Han's interpretation of Shen Bing was identical to what he had written in his Directorial Concept, though Yi Han had actually presented Pei Youyou's interpretation of the role as his own. After the read, Kan Di approached Yi Han with a DC Comics Variant Play Arts figure, an item he had long sought, as an apology for her previous harsh words.
She explained the effort she went through to get it from Tokyo, even autographed. Yi Han accepted the gift, forgiving her after she swore her earlier remarks were made in panic and not truly meant. They reconciled, and Yi Han offered her a lift. Meanwhile, Pei Youyou returned to the nail salon after taking two days off for house transfer and engagement matters.
Her manager announced her promotion to Creative Director, responsible for the design and development of new nail styles. Pei Youyou, known for her diligence and creativity, especially her unique Chinese-style nail art, was thrilled by the promotion, which also came with a 50% salary increase, double bonus, and funds for new style development. Everyone was happy for her, except for the jealous Qingqing. Back home, Yi Han joined Pei Youyou and Lu Ming for dinner.
Lu Ming, admiring Kan Di, expressed concern to Pei Youyou about Yi Han working with someone so beautiful. He then insisted Pei Youyou change her casual attire, pushing her into Yi Han’s room, unaware she had no clothes of her own there. Pei Youyou emerged wearing Yi Han’s ill-fitting clothes, which disappointed Lu Ming. Kan Di, noticing that Pei Youyou and Yi Han's engagement lacked official photos, suggested they appear on the cover of "The Most Beautiful Bride" magazine.
Pei Youyou was excited, and Lu Ming wanted to join for family photos. Despite Yi Han's initial reluctance, thinking Kan Di's apology was a ploy to get him to agree, Kan Di went ahead and confirmed the shoot. Pei Youyou also took the opportunity to ask Kan Di for help finding a summer job for Lu Ming, which Kan Di readily agreed to.
During the photoshoot, Yi Han initially tried to leave after his solo portraits, suggesting they could combine photos in post-production. Kan Di persuaded him to stay, pointing out that leaving would fuel rumors of them being a fake couple. When Pei Youyou arrived, elegantly dressed, Yi Han was visibly affected. The photographer guided them through various poses, asking for more intimacy and even suggesting a kiss to convey their deep love.
Despite Pei Youyou's initial hesitation, they ultimately managed a successful shot. The "Most Beautiful Bride" magazine featuring Pei Youyou and Yi Han became a huge success, with Pei Youyou often finding it comical recalling the moment she accidentally tugged Yi Han's tie during the shoot, and her feelings for the seemingly cold Yi Han gradually grew warmer. At Pei Youyou's nail salon, customers eagerly sought her out, though many didn't recognize her in person from the magazine.
Director Liu Tiannuo called Pei Youyou (on the phone), asking for a favor. His assistant had left, and he needed an English-speaking assistant for the ongoing international collaboration. He suggested Lu Ming, having heard from Kan Di about his recent return from overseas and job search. Pei Youyou was thrilled, agreeing to bring Lu Ming to meet him. Director Liu Tiannuo's assistant, however, teased him, implying his eagerness to help was due to his affection for Pei Youyou.
Pei Youyou later called Director Liu Tiannuo again (on the phone) to confirm Yi Han wouldn't be at the set, showing her desire to avoid him. Meanwhile, Ran Zishu's manager reminded her about an upcoming kiss scene with Yi Han, offering to arrange a cheat shot if she was uncomfortable. Ran Zishu dismissed the idea, claiming she was a professional and unaffected, even forgetting she had once confessed her feelings to Yi Han, a memory vividly shown in a flashback.
Moments later, Ran Zishu spotted Lu Ming on the street, dropping her high heels to chase him for a copy of "The Most Beautiful Bride" magazine he had just bought, but she couldn't catch him. Elsewhere, Pei Youyou's nail salon manager, having boasted about her connection to Yi Han, pressured Pei Youyou to arrange a dinner meeting with Yi Han and the company's CEO, unwilling to take no for an answer despite Pei Youyou's concerns about Yi Han's busy schedule.
Pei Youyou and Lu Ming arrived at the film set to meet Director Liu Tiannuo. Pei Youyou tried to avoid Yi Han, but upon hearing from his makeup artist Xiao Wen that his "fiancée" had visited, Yi Han called Pei Youyou, but she didn't answer. Pei Youyou, while heading to Director Liu Tiannuo's office, received a message from her nail salon manager insisting she come to the film studio's dressing room.
She was then intercepted by Ran Zishu, who was complaining about her broken toenail. Pei Youyou sincerely apologized for a previous incident. However, when reporters approached, Ran Zishu, still holding a grudge and trying to assert dominance, declared that Pei Youyou couldn't give an interview because she had promised to fix her broken toenail as a sign of sincerity. This left everyone present awkward.
Soon after, Yi Han arrived, having grown impatient waiting for Pei Youyou, and without hesitation, took her away, despite her reminder that she had promised Ran Zishu to fix her nail.
