The shop manager was in a state of panic as the nail salon's online appointment system was being sabotaged. After a recent vlog featuring Youyou and Yi Han caused a surge in bookings, all appointments were suddenly canceled, and future slots were maliciously re-booked, only to be canceled again. The manager suspected their former colleague, Sun Qingqing, was behind the attacks, seeking revenge after failing to find employment elsewhere.
Youyou, however, dismissed the idea of pursuing the culprit, asserting that even if caught, they couldn't be punished, and it wouldn't solve the core problem. Instead, she proposed that the shop abandon the unreliable online system and focus on leveraging its excellent physical location and her own presence to attract walk-in customers and revive their business. Her colleagues quickly rallied behind her.
While Youyou was actively promoting the shop to passersby, a delivery person arrived with 99 high-quality Ecuadorian roses from Yi Han. Upon seeing the ¥3,500 receipt, even with a half-price discount arranged by Yi Han, Youyou was appalled by the extravagance and immediately tried to return them, but was unsuccessful. Meanwhile, Yi Han excitedly called Youyou, hoping she felt touched and loved him more.
However, Youyou scolded him for the expensive and impractical gift, especially since he was currently jobless and she was the sole earner. She reminded him that they were now "living their days" as a married couple, not just dating. Yi Han, hurt by her words, pointed out that she had previously said their marriage was too sudden and she needed time to adapt, which was why he thought a romantic gesture like flowers would help them "start from dating."
Youyou abruptly hung up. Feeling insulted by her implied criticism of his unemployment, Yi Han called Kan Di, declaring his desire to get back to work. Kan Di, preoccupied with her own affairs, curtly replied that she had no intention of letting him remain idle and quickly ended the call.
Back at the shop, Youyou decided to sell the roses to her colleagues and the manager at a discount, reasoning that it would recover some of the money and benefit others, while also demonstrating her commitment to frugality and making up the "financial gap" he had created. Kan Di then approached Lin Tiannuo, suggesting that Yi Han should return to work on the "Remaining Life" production.
Lin Tiannuo was resistant, stating that with the investors having pulled out, he couldn't simply restart filming. Kan Di sharply criticized his "pride" and "thin-skinned" nature, then announced that she had already "humbled herself" on his behalf. Reluctantly, Lin Tiannuo agreed to accompany her to meet the investors.
Later, Kan Di revealed her true intentions to Yi Han on the phone: she had orchestrated the meeting to manipulate the "stubborn and aloof" but ultimately "gentlemanly" Lin Tiannuo into apologizing to the investors. She confessed to faking 70% of her drunkenness and performing a dramatic act of vomiting in the men's restroom to solidify his belief in her distress, knowing he wouldn't abandon a seemingly helpless woman.
Her elaborate ruse worked perfectly, not only securing the resumption of filming for "Remaining Life" but also leading Lin Tiannuo to clear the restroom for her. With the investors appeased and filming set to resume, Yi Han was informed that he could return to work. Despite their earlier disagreement, Yi Han met Youyou after work, offering a red packet as an apology.
Youyou, however, refused to be swayed by money, emphasizing the importance of shared values and prudent spending for their future. Yi Han, acknowledging his mistake, promised to self-reflect and offered to have the cost of the roses deducted from his daily allowance, even suggesting he'd skip dinner to save. Youyou, concerned for his health, affectionately offered to make him noodles.
The next morning, Yi Han surprised Youyou by showing up at her nail shop, claiming he needed to help out since he was currently jobless and didn't want to "live off a woman." He went on to propose an "office romance." Youyou, finding the idea rather exciting, agreed. Their relationship continued to deepen, and Yi Han was overjoyed when Youyou casually called him "Hubby" as she expressed hunger.
He playfully suggested they no longer needed separate beds, to which she coyly responded "we'll see," though they eventually shared a room. The following morning, Youyou confided in Yi Han about a recurring childhood dream: her mother leaving with a suitcase, and Youyou could never catch up, only seeing her back.
She had always feared forgetting her mother's face, but this time in her dream, she finally caught up and saw her mother clearly, realizing she had never truly forgotten her. She shared her past hope of buying back their old house, envisioning her mother's return, a hope that was shattered when Lu Ming told her her mother was no longer alive.
This dashed her desire to both meet and forgive her mother, leaving her with the painful realization that she would carry her hatred for her mother to her grave. Yi Han comforted her, urging her to stop dwelling on such heavy thoughts. Youyou then asked him to burn the letters her mother had left her, admitting she hadn't the courage to read them.
Yi Han, who had secretly read the letters previously while looking for her household register, silently formed a plan. Later, while discussing a potential honeymoon, Youyou noticed that Yi Han had changed his phone password to her birthday and was touched. He then mentioned that Haozi had suggested they leverage their current popularity by going out in matching couple's clothes for paparazzi photos. Yi Han playfully tried to persuade Youyou to go for a stroll to get photos.
When she refused, he dramatically feigned hurt, complaining that her phone password wasn't his birthday, and insisted on staying in bed. Youyou, amused by his antics, eventually dragged him out, proposing they could take photos at home instead. In a bonus scene, after a dinner meeting, Kan Di was perplexed by the strange looks she received from others as they exited.
Lin Tiannuo then revealed that to clear the men's restroom for her when she was "vomiting," he had told everyone his "pregnant wife" had drunk too much and might be having a miscarriage, requiring emergency treatment, and that an ambulance was on its way. Kan Di was thoroughly enraged by his outrageous fabrication.
