In the bustling city, the lives of celebrity Yi Han and nail technician Pei Youyou couldn't be more different. Yi Han, a popular star, was accustomed to having his assistant wake him, even needing Kandi to rouse him with an Iced Americano.
Meanwhile, Pei Youyou rushed to clock in at her nail salon, where her excellent performance and high number of VIP clients like Ran Zishu earned her praise from the shop leader, allowing her to request an advance on her commission for a personal matter.
Another nail technician, Qingqing, frequently wore heavy makeup for auditions, dreaming of the spotlight and starring opposite Yi Han in movies like "The rest of life," often mocking Pei Youyou for not spending her earnings on fashionable clothes. Yi Han's morning took a sharp turn when Kandi received a call informing them that the director for his upcoming film, "The rest of life," had decided to replace him, despite their signed contract.
Yi Han, furious and feeling insulted that he was being rejected instead of him rejecting others, decided to drive to the press conference to confront them. Kandi attempted to stop him but was intercepted by her husband, Zhu Wenyao, who insisted she join him for his mother's birthday celebration, scolding her for prioritizing work over family. Forced to leave with Zhu Wenyao, Kandi urgently instructed her assistants, Dawei and Haozi, to pursue Yi Han.
Pei Youyou, known for her strong artistic background and ability to create unique nail designs that other salons couldn't, was praised by customers and even encouraged new colleagues, explaining that nail art is a form of painting and an art to be proud of.
She was on her way to serve Ran Zishu, a VIP client, on her electric scooter, while simultaneously on a phone call finalizing details for purchasing her old family home, a dream she was striving for by saving every penny and taking advances. Suddenly, at the intersection of Jiang Xin Street and Xiao De Street, Yi Han’s speeding car collided with Pei Youyou’s electric scooter. Yi Han was knocked unconscious in the collision.
Kandi, however, had advised him over the phone to use the accident as an excuse to withdraw from "The rest of life" and control public opinion, telling him not to get out of the car. However, Pei Youyou, concerned he might suffocate, found a brick and smashed his car window, accidentally hitting Yi Han in the head. Realizing he was the famous actor Yi Han, she panicked and rushed him to the hospital.
In the hospital, Kandi paid Pei Youyou 20,000 yuan for the damages, but Pei Youyou insisted on only receiving her calculated compensation of 8,000 yuan, returning the extra 12,000 yuan. Although Yi Han remained grumpy, Kandi was impressed by Pei Youyou's honesty and exchanged business cards with her. While Kandi was handling the aftermath, her husband, Zhu Wenyao, texted her, demanding a divorce.
Yi Han, noticing Kandi’s distress and recalling how Kandi had supported him since he was eighteen, feared Zhu Wenyao was bullying her, and discreetly followed Kandi when she left the hospital. Yi Han found Kandi drinking alone at a bar and intervened when she was being harassed, then took her home, where she confessed her despair about the divorce. Photos of them together were leaked to the media, leading to a frenzy outside the hospital.
The next morning, Zhu Wenyao arrived at the hospital, publicly announced his divorce from Kandi, and insulted her, provoking Yi Han to punch him. Pei Youyou, who had come to the hospital to ask Kandi for help contacting Ran Zishu (whose cancelled card put Pei Youyou's job at risk), witnessed the chaotic scene.
She spontaneously stepped forward to defend Kandi and Yi Han, asserting that Yi Han had been in the hospital all night and showing reporters a photo she had taken of them while waiting for the ambulance. Capitalizing on the moment to protect Kandi's reputation, Yi Han declared Pei Youyou his girlfriend and announced their impending marriage.
