When they got home, they saw her mom waiting downstairs. Ding Xian ignored her and stormed upstairs. Her mom thanked Zhou Siyue for bringing Ding Xian home and tried to ask if Ding Xian had a crush on any boy at school recently, but Zhou Siyue didn’t say anything, leaving her with no choice. Back home, Ding Wencheng scolded her for reading Ding Xian’s diary, calling it unethical, but her mom didn’t think she was wrong at all.

Teacher Liu called Ding Xian to the office and criticized her—despite normally being able to solve such problems, she couldn’t finish them in the exam. Ding Xian was very disappointed in herself and felt down. But she had already promised Teacher Liu that if her grades weren’t good, she’d switch seats with Song Ziqi. So she kept her word and ended up sitting with Kong Shadi.

Later, Zhou Siyue asked her why she switched seats, and Ding Xian didn’t know how to explain. Seeing that she had something she couldn’t say, Zhou Siyue didn’t press her. At the basketball gym, Zhou Siyue was talking to Yang Chunzi, and Ding Xian along with Kong Shadi saw them. They were both angry at Zhou Siyue’s behavior and asked Song Ziqi to find out what they were talking about.

Song Ziqi read their lips and figured they were talking about a play. Ding Xian assumed they were planning to go see a play together and felt both upset and angry. Ding Xian’s mom visited Zhou Siyue’s home and felt that Ding Xian’s grades couldn’t compare to Zhou Siyue’s. She was very worried about her daughter.

But Zhou Siyue told her not to think that way—Ding Xian would prove herself with good grades and hoped they would have faith in her. Ding Xian stayed mad at Zhou Siyue and avoided talking to him, so Kong Shadi tried to create opportunities for them to reconcile. She and Song Ziqi planned a weekend outing to give them a chance to talk.

When they met up, they ran into Jiang Chen, who was short on cash lately and wanted to borrow some money. Just then, You Keke showed up and, after hearing about the incidents near Bashu Middle School involving Xie Liang, went off with Jiang Chen to stake out the suspected pervert at No. 18 Middle School. Ding Xian’s mom gave her a new outfit. Ding Xian was a bit taken aback by her sudden kindness.

Knowing Ding Xian was going to a concert with Kong Shadi, her mom specially bought her a designer brand. Ding Xian happily wore the new outfit to the outing. Only when she arrived did she realize Zhou Siyue was also there. Kong Shadi and Song Ziqi, satisfied that the two were inside together, left the venue. It turned out this was all arranged by them to help matchmake Ding Xian and Zhou Siyue—mission accomplished.

After the concert, the two talked a lot and cleared up their misunderstanding. Ding Xian had been distancing herself to avoid dragging Zhou Siyue down. Zhou Siyue promised to help her with her studies and improve her grades. Later, when Song Ziqi was walking Kong Shadi home, Jiang Chen and You Keke spotted them. Jiang Chen mistook Song Ziqi for the pervert who harassed Ding Xian and, with his head covered, beat him up.

Kong Shadi was off buying something at the time, so Jiang Chen and You Keke gave Song Ziqi quite a beating. Zhou Siyue and Ding Xian arrived and joined the fight, thinking they were dealing with a pervert. Even Kong Shadi joined in. When they realized what was going on, Song Ziqi’s face was already badly bruised. Just then, they heard Ding Juncong shouting—he was being harassed by a real thug.

Song Ziqi ran over and gave the thug a good beating. The earlier punches he took were apparently on behalf of the real pervert, and now he wasn’t going to let it go. Zhou Siyue walked Ding Xian and her younger brother home and gave her a gift—a set of art supplies. He told her it was what he had asked Yang Chunzi to help buy at the gym. Ding Xian realized she had misunderstood Zhou Siyue; the play Song Ziqi had lip-read wasn’t a stage play—it was “huàjù” as in art supplies.
