The black-clad man, Xuyu, reported to his master that he had killed Fang Wuyi. However, his master was furious, stating that if Fang Wuyi were truly dead, he wouldn't still be imprisoned. He reminded Xuyu that he was merely a demon formed from his master’s powers, not even human, and warned him to be self-aware. He commanded Xuyu to kill Fang Wuyi promptly, or else his ability to speak would be sealed forever.
Meanwhile, Yun Muyang had nearly recovered from his injuries. He was determined to find Lian Yi, whether she was alive or dead, emphasizing that she wasn't merely "someone else" but a sister who had fought through thick and thin with him and bore a scar on her face from saving his life. Du Xianyin expressed her desire to accompany him, claiming Lian Yi was like a sister to her too.
However, Lian Yi suddenly appeared, accusing Du Xianyin of being a spy who had cut the hawser, leaving her to die. Du Xianyin denied the accusation, feigning weakness, and Yun Muyang, remembering Du Xianyin had saved his life, defended her, causing Lian Yi to storm off in anger. Later that night, Yun Muyang, remembering Lian Yi's upright character, secretly inspected the boat's hawser and confirmed it had indeed been cut by a sword, fueling his suspicions.
Yun Muyang then confronted Du Xianyin, asking for her true identity. He tested her with a sword, noting her unusual calm for someone supposedly untrained in martial arts, which convinced him she was lying. Du Xianyin wept, insisting her feelings for him were sincere and that he had given her this life. She offered for him to take it back if he wished, but expressed sadness that he believed he knew nothing about her after all this time.
Unable to accept her continued deception, Yun Muyang let her leave. Feng Ruche woke from a recurring nightmare. Xue Jingkong was in the courtyard, playing the "Song of the Clear Mind" on his konghou, hoping it would help her sleep better. Feng Ruche thanked him for his repeated rescues but expressed a desire to forget the traumatic events at Lin Yuan Platform, which felt like a nightmare to her.

Elsewhere, Bai Dangdang pleaded with Xuan Ji to release his mother, reminding her he had done everything she asked. Xuan Ji coldly informed him that his mother, old and ill, had passed away the previous day.
Realizing he had been deceived, an enraged Bai Dangdang was met with Xuan Ji's dismissive smile as she stripped him of his general's position and banished him from the palace. As Yun Muyang and Lian Yi prepared to depart, Lian Yi mentioned the "superior person" who had saved her, describing how he could freeze everyone with a single gesture.
Yun Muyang was reminded of his own brother, Xue Jingkong, whom he believed to be dead, noting the similarities in their extraordinary abilities. Just then, Du Xianyin's cries for help echoed. Yun Muyang rushed out to find her being abducted by Golden Imperial Guards with distinctive purple wings.
Despite his recent distrust, Yun Muyang was emotionally attached to Du Xianyin and resolved to rescue her, regardless of whether it was a trap, ordering Lian Yi to proceed with their original mission. Du Xianyin was taken to Xuan Ji, who was revealed to be her adoptive mother.
Xuan Ji questioned why Du Xianyin hesitated to continue training her golden wings, reminding her that she had endured significant hardship since childhood to cultivate them, all for the purpose of seizing imperial power in the Feather Capital. Upon returning, he cooked her favorite egg noodles, to which Xing Shangli remarked on Xue Jingkong's changed demeanor and growing tenderness towards Feng Ruche. Later, Feng Ruche expressed a desire for exciting storybooks. Xue Jingkong, though feigning reluctance, borrowed several from Xing Shangli, finding titles such as "Bossy Winged Emperor Falls In Love With Me" and "Prince Regent's Romantic History."
