> Novoland: The Castle in the Sky 2 Recap
Lian Yi publicly confronted Yun Muyang, presenting him with a jade pendant he had once given her, promising to grant any wish when she produced it. Her wish was for him to not marry Du Xianyin that day, arguing that Feng Ruche had a point: if he married Du Xianyin, there would be no way to undo it. She pleaded with him to consider the late Lord Qi Zhenxian.
Yun Muyang, however, was resolute, stating he would investigate Qi Zhenxian's murder and prove Du Xianyin innocent, promising her a grand wedding afterward. Du Xianyin, deeply disappointed by his continued doubt, left the scene. Meanwhile, Feng Ruche's health was declining, causing Xue Jingkong much worry. He urged her to take care of herself, though she playfully brushed it off, expressing happiness at seeing him worried. Feng Ruche found joy in their relationship, feeling fulfilled.
Physician Zhen then arrived and revealed that Qi Zhenxian had already recovered before going to Tuojiang but had faked his illness, seemingly with a plan. This puzzled Feng Ruche, who deduced that Qi Zhenxian must have suspected Du Xianyin and pretended to be unconscious to expose her.
However, she questioned why Qi Zhenxian hadn't directly informed Yun Muyang or caught Du Xianyin red-handed when she attempted to kill him, wondering if there was a deeper, untold secret between Qi Zhenxian and Du Xianyin. While contemplating, Feng Ruche suddenly fainted. Xue Jingkong rushed to heal her with his spiritual power, accidentally discovering a flower-shaped pattern behind her ear, strikingly similar to the one on his own back. Xue Jingkong called upon Xing Shang Li to examine Feng Ruche.
Xing Shang Li revealed that his initial belief, that their union would cure Xue Jingkong's cryo-sickness and regrow Feng Ruche's wings, was mistaken. He explained that Feng Ruche, who should have died eighteen years ago, was revived by a drop of Xue Jingkong's heart blood infused with the Flower Goddess's spiritual power. Both now harbored this power. As their affection grew, the spiritual power would transfer from Xue Jingkong to Feng Ruche.
While Xue Jingkong, a century-old magician, could withstand this energy, Feng Ruche's weak constitution could not. Xing Shang Li used an analogy of a teapot and a water bag to illustrate how the continuous transfer of power would eventually overwhelm Feng Ruche, leading to her death. He concluded that their bond was a trap set by the Flower Goddess, aiming for Xue Jingkong to unknowingly kill Feng Ruche.
Realizing the grave danger, Xue Jingkong, with a heavy heart, resolved to leave Feng Ruche to protect her. Separately, Lian Yi confronted Du Xianyin, accusing her of murdering Zi Juan because Zi Juan knew too many of her secrets. Du Xianyin defiantly asserted that Yun Muyang would always be fooled only by her. Just as Lian Yi attempted to attack Du Xianyin, Yun Muyang appeared and intervened.
He clarified that he had sent Zi Juan back to her hometown, believing her story about stealing medicine for her sick brother. Yun Muyang defended Du Xianyin, stating she had done everything for him and saved his life multiple times. He declared that if Lian Yi continued to embarrass Du Xianyin, they would no longer be siblings.
Lian Yi, heartbroken by his choice, asked if he had forgotten their bond and promises, but Yun Muyang remained firm, expressing his determination not to disappoint Du Xianyin again. Du Xianyin then feigned sadness and empathy for Yun Muyang after Lian Yi's departure. Feng Ruche eventually woke, looking pale, and noticed the flower pattern behind her ear. Mistaking it as a sign of their perfect match, she joyfully asked Xue Jingkong to be her husband forever.
Although deeply pained, Xue Jingkong didn't reveal the truth. He quietly fulfilled her wish, singing a song for her until she drifted off to sleep, then silently departed. Feng Ruche awoke to find him gone and searched frantically. Xing Shang Li, trying to protect her, lied that Xue Jingkong had left out of embarrassment after losing his power and would not return. Despite her sorrow, Feng Ruche refused to believe it.
Meanwhile, Xue Jingkong, hidden in the forest, used his spiritual power to create light, guiding Bai Dangdang and Lin Yuecong to the distraught Feng Ruche. He vowed to protect her from afar until his death. In the forest, the Silver Winged Cavalry discovered Zi Juan's body. Her family, who had come searching for her, handed a letter to Yun Muyang. The letter, penned by Zi Juan, stated that if Yun Muyang was reading it, she had been murdered.
It revealed that Du Xianyin had forced her to work for her and lie for her, and that Zi Juan knew too many of Du Xianyin's secrets. Reading the letter, Yun Muyang was utterly shocked, and all the previously dismissed doubts about Du Xianyin resurfaced, making him realize he might have been wrong from the very beginning. Later, Du Xianyin arranged to meet Lian Yi in the forest, claiming she wanted to talk openly.
She confessed to killing Qi Zhenxian but asserted that he was not the true Qi Zhenxian they knew, and she was forced to do so to be with Yun Muyang. Du Xianyin proposed that they shake hands and reconcile, saying she didn't want Yun Muyang to be caught between them. Lian Yi scornfully refused, furious that Du Xianyin would ask her to make peace with Qi Zhenxian's murderer.
Declaring her intent to avenge Qi Zhenxian and enlighten Yun Muyang, Lian Yi attacked Du Xianyin. However, Du Xianyin, who had grown weary of Lian Yi, retaliated swiftly, taking Lian Yi's life on the spot before fleeing.
