While walking alone late at night, Lin Xing Chen is accosted by hooligans. A figure in a Bear Knight costume appears and scares them away. Lin Xing Chen is overjoyed, believing it to be Jiang Nianyu. However, her relief turns to fear when the man removes the costume head, revealing himself to be a drunken homeless man who then begins to menace her. At that critical moment, the real Jiang Nianyu arrives, quickly deals with the drunkard, and rescues her.
Overcome with relief and gratitude, Lin Xing Chen impulsively embraces Jiang Nianyu. However, his "embrace phobia" immediately takes hold, and he begins to gasp for air. Too absorbed in her excitement, Lin Xing Chen doesn't notice his distress, and he soon goes limp, collapsing to the ground. Panicked, Lin Xing Chen cries out for help. Meanwhile, Yu Yang Yang has a frank conversation with Zheng Chu Yao.
She tells him that she doesn't like him, and more importantly, that he doesn't truly like her either. She explains that if he truly cared for someone, he would listen to their opinions and remember their interests, using examples like her favorite color or drink to prove he knows nothing about her. Zheng Chu Yao is taken aback. Yu Yang Yang suggests that if he truly loved someone, all his "me's" would become "you's."
She points out that his actions consistently revolve around Lin Xing Chen: he intentionally gets close to Yu Yang Yang whenever Lin Xing Chen appears and becomes particularly unhappy whenever Lin Xing Chen speaks or does something he disapproves of. When Yu Yang Yang asks if he knows what Lin Xing Chen likes to drink, he correctly identifies iced coffee, and it dawns on him that the person he truly cares about is Lin Xing Chen.
Lin Xing Chen stays by Jiang Nianyu's bedside, carefully bandaging the hand he injured while fighting the drunken man. Reflecting on his constant protection, she softly thanks him. As she is absorbed in these thoughts, Yu Yang Yang knocks on the door. She immediately asks if Lin Xing Chen hugged Jiang Nianyu. Caught off guard, Lin Xing Chen tries to deny it, but Yu Yang Yang explains that she knows because something similar had happened to him before.
Yu Yang Yang then reveals a deeply guarded secret about Jiang Nianyu's past: he and his sister were orphans who depended solely on each other. When his sister was diagnosed with leukemia, Jiang Nianyu took a year off from school to work tirelessly and earn money for her treatment. Tragically, despite his efforts, his sister died in his arms. From that day forward, Jiang Nianyu has been unable to hug anyone, and his once-smiling face became expressionless.
Learning the reason behind his "Ice Cube Face," Lin Xing Chen feels a strong desire to do something for him, vowing silently to treat him better. Later, Lin Xing Chen discovers a pair of beautiful earrings in Jiang Nianyu's pocket. She recognizes them as the ones Yu Yang Yang had admired while they were shopping and immediately assumes Jiang Nianyu bought them for Yu Yang Yang. Upset, she confronts the sleeping Jiang Nianyu, demanding to know who they were for.
When Jiang Nianyu wakes, he finds "stupid woman" written on his face in marker, Lin Xing Chen's clear handiwork. They playfully chase each other, but their fun is interrupted by the appearance of the drunken man from the night before—now introducing himself as "Sunny Brother." Lin Xing Chen explains that after Jiang Nianyu fainted, Sunny Brother helped her carry him back. As a thank you, she has allowed him to stay in Jiang Nianyu's room, much to Jiang Nianyu's exasperation.
The next morning, Lei Jia Na approaches Lin Xing Chen, demanding breakfast. Lin Xing Chen retorts that while she doesn't have hands for making breakfast, she "has a man who can." Lei Jia Na, assuming it is Zheng Chu Yao, feels challenged and immediately demands her boyfriend, Zhou Wei, make her breakfast. Zhou Wei, unaccustomed to cooking, refuses, frustrating Lei Jia Na. During a band practice, Yu Yang Yang accidentally drops and breaks a clarinet.
With the instrument damaged, Lin Xing Chen proposes she play a violin solo with the others providing accompaniment. Lei Jia Na, unwilling to let Lin Xing Chen take the spotlight, begins to argue loudly. As the situation grows chaotic, Sunny Brother intervenes with confusing remarks. He then proceeds to watch a football game loudly during their rehearsal, shouting and disturbing their practice. Unable to tolerate the disruption, Jiang Nianyu stops the rehearsal to confront him.
Unexpectedly, Sunny Brother reveals a sharp critical eye, pointing out the specific flaws in each person's playing, from missed notes and poor breath control to their lack of emotional expression and poor interpersonal dynamics. He describes Jiang Nianyu as a "high-functioning calculator" for his technical precision but emotional detachment and criticizes the orchestra for failing to listen to each other. As homework, he instructs everyone to write down five good qualities about every other member.
Following his guidance, the group's performance becomes much more harmonious. Before the performance, Jiang Nianyu presents the earrings to Lin Xing Chen. Overjoyed, she hugs him tightly, nearly causing him to faint again. During the performance, Lin Xing Chen is stunned to see Sunny Brother, now impeccably dressed in a suit, sitting among the judges. His presence leaves her deeply puzzled. After their successful performance, the audience erupts in thunderous applause.
The next morning at breakfast, Yu Yang Yang excitedly announces that Sunny Brother is, in fact, the internationally renowned music critic Wei Zhe Kai. He had written a glowing review of their performance, which was published on the front page of a music newspaper, causing a sensation among the students. Through Wei Zhe Kai's guidance, the students overcome their suspicions and grudges, learning tolerance, understanding, and mutual appreciation. Lin Xing Chen gains many genuine friends and heartfelt compliments. Zheng Chu Yao finally acknowledges that he is in love with Lin Xing Chen, and Yu Yang Yang, in a public declaration, confesses her feelings to Jiang Nianyu.
