Yu Yang Yang excitedly informed Jiang Nianyu that their orchestra had been invited to perform in the annual World University Students' Concert in Taipei, a first for their school. Jiang Nianyu acknowledged her role as manager, and Yu Yang Yang eagerly promised to do her best. Meanwhile, Lin Xing Chen observed them from a distance on the rooftop, feeling a pang of unhappiness.
She confided in Uncle Meng Xi that she was starting to understand the feeling he once described: missing someone when they are out of sight, yet feeling annoyed when they are present. Uncle Meng Xi advised her to let time clarify her feelings. During an orchestra meeting, Jiang Nianyu announced the Taipei trip but explained that due to limited funds, they would need to reduce the number of participants.
Yu Yang Yang immediately volunteered to withdraw, stating she wouldn't be performing anyway. Zheng Chu Yao then stepped forward, proclaiming that he would cover all travel expenses for the entire orchestra, ensuring no one was left out. He confidently told Yu Yang Yang to send him everyone's details, asserting that a real man acts on his words. Jiang Nianyu offered a thoughtful response that money doesn't solve all problems, but lack of it can prevent any from being solved.
To Zheng Chu Yao's surprise, his father refused to sponsor the trip, specifically because Yu Yang Yang was part of the orchestra. His father stated that money was not the issue, but Yu Yang Yang absolutely could not go. He urged Zheng Chu Yao to cherish Lin Xing Chen, praising her virtues and patience despite Zheng Chu Yao's continued involvement with Yu Yang Yang.
Zheng Chu Yao expressed his dislike for Lin Xing Chen, wishing she would make a fuss instead. His father remained firm, insisting Yu Yang Yang step down from the orchestra. Chen Ming Li, CEO of Dolly Corporation and Lin Xing Chen's mother, visited Yu Yang Yang's family restaurant. She accused Yu Yang Yang of pestering her daughter's fiancé, Zheng Chu Yao, and attempting to climb the social ladder.
Despite Yu Yang Yang's mother defending her daughter's character, Chen Ming Li was dismissive. Intimidated, Yu Yang Yang's mother reluctantly agreed to make her daughter quit the orchestra and gave Chen Ming Li her daughter's documents. Upon returning home, Yu Yang Yang was devastated to learn what her mother had done. The next day at school, a heartbroken Yu Yang Yang announced her departure from the orchestra, claiming she had also quit school.
She confronted Lin Xing Chen directly, asking if she was satisfied, leaving Lin Xing Chen confused and denying any involvement. Yu Yang Yang later confided in Jiang Nianyu, painting herself as a victim by claiming her decision to leave wasn't her own and that Lin Xing Chen's mother had forced her out. She expressed deep sadness about missing the opportunity to see Jiang Nianyu perform. Jiang Nianyu reassured her, promising to find a solution.
Subsequently, Lin Xing Chen, Jiang Nianyu, and Zheng Chu Yao discussed the situation. Zheng Chu Yao immediately blamed Lin Xing Chen, leading to a heated argument about their engagement and past incidents. Jiang Nianyu intervened, urging them to focus on helping Yu Yang Yang. Zheng Chu Yao revealed his father's refusal to fund the trip if Yu Yang Yang went.
Lin Xing Chen, fed up with the bickering, declared that she would personally resolve the issue by retrieving Yu Yang Yang's documents and covering her expenses, demanding that the two men trust her and not interfere. Lin Xing Chen attempted to trick Chen Ming Li into returning Yu Yang Yang's documents by feigning a desire to humiliate Yu Yang Yang in Taipei as a servant. Chen Ming Li, however, saw through the ruse, mocking Lin Xing Chen's lack of cunning.
Undeterred, Lin Xing Chen secretly broke into Chen Ming Li's study that night and successfully stole back Yu Yang Yang's documents. On the day of departure at the airport, Yu Yang Yang approached Lin Xing Chen to thank her, but Lin Xing Chen curtly replied it was her mother's fault anyway and that she didn't want to talk.
Worried about what he might think, Lin Xing Chen then sought out Jiang Nianyu, subtly asking if he believed she was responsible for the incident. Jiang Nianyu gently reassured her, stating that he knew her character and that she didn't have such intentions, which visibly pleased her. Upon their arrival in Taipei, Zheng Chu Yao grandly announced that everyone was to follow Yu Yang Yang's directions, asserting her authority as manager. However, Yu Yang Yang's management quickly faltered.
She informed the group that their faculty advisor was not coming and that the bus she had booked had broken down, leaving them stranded. Lin Xing Chen saved the day by calling her family's local branch manager, who promptly arranged a bus.
The mishaps continued after they reached the hotel; the group realized Jiang Nianyu was missing, and Yu Yang Yang admitted she had forgotten all the instruments at the airport, drawing sharp criticism from Lei Jia Na for her incompetence. To everyone's relief, Jiang Nianyu soon returned with the instruments, having paid a considerable fee to retrieve them himself. A remorseful Yu Yang Yang apologized for her oversight.
During room assignments, with only two single rooms available, Yu Yang Yang suggested Jiang Nianyu take one due to his insomnia. This prompted Zheng Chu Yao to demand the other single room, and Lin Xing Chen also vied for it, leading to a petty argument. Zheng Chu Yao declared he would stay in the room next door to Yu Yang Yang, to which Lin Xing Chen retorted that she didn't care what he did.
Observing their dynamic, Jiang Nianyu commented on how Lin Xing Chen seemed to get upset whether Zheng Chu Yao pursued her or ignored her. Later, Lin Xing Chen entered the bathroom and was startled to find Jiang Nianyu emerging from the shower. Both reacted with shock. Jiang Nianyu accused her of trying to peek at him, mentioning she had a "previous history" of such behavior.
Frustrated, Lin Xing Chen returned to her room and angrily kicked the bed, crying out in pain. Hearing her cries, Jiang Nianyu rushed in to check on her, and in a clumsy moment, they both stumbled and fell onto the bed, just as other orchestra members arrived and witnessed the awkward scene. In their shared room, Lei Jia Na loudly complained to Yu Yang Yang about the accommodations and called her "stupid" for her mistakes.
Yu Yang Yang, tearful, retreated to the hotel restaurant. Lin Xing Chen found her there weeping and expressing self-pity. Losing patience, Lin Xing Chen sternly told Yu Yang Yang to stop acting like a victim and learn from her mistakes, pointing out that despite her family situation, she had advantages Lin Xing Chen didn't. Stung by the words, Yu Yang Yang ran out.
Zheng Chu Yao immediately confronted Lin Xing Chen, who, having had enough of his constant opposition, yelled back, calling him a "human with a pig's brain" and threatening him. She then stormed out, and Jiang Nianyu swiftly followed her. Zheng Chu Yao found Yu Yang Yang and tried to console her, but she subtly pulled away, stating she just wanted to walk alone. Meanwhile, Lin Xing Chen wandered the streets aimlessly and was accosted by two drunk men. Just as they began to harass her, a figure dressed as the Bear Knight suddenly appeared, quickly subduing the men and rescuing her.
