Zhen Zheng and Chi Xin were celebrating with their newly re-formed team when a knock at the door revealed He Mingzhu. She called for Zhen Zheng, declaring that if he came out now, she would consider it an act of surrender. Inside, Chi Xin's team members wondered if Zhen Zheng and Chi Xin were truly working from home, expressing concern about whether Chi Xin would take them in. They decided to impress him with sincerity.
As He Mingzhu began counting down from five, Zhen Zheng's team members jokingly asked him what he had done to anger his girlfriend. Zhen Zheng insisted he hadn't made the kind of mistake they were imagining. Chi Xin encouraged Zhen Zheng to apologize, reminding him that women needed to be coaxed. Zhen Zheng reluctantly went out, claiming he was merely obeying orders.
He Mingzhu confronted Zhen Zheng outside, twisting his ear and scolding him for playing games with her before they were even married. She declared she knew everything. She then forcefully led him to her car, telling him to shut up when he asked where they were going, and drove off. Inside, the team members speculated on Zhen Zheng's fate, betting on a dire outcome. Meanwhile, Ding Xiaorou and SA Yi waited anxiously for news, worried about Zhen Zheng.
SA Yi analyzed the situation, predicting three possible outcomes: a big fight leading to a breakup, a cold war depending on Zhen Zheng's actions, or Zhen Zheng presenting an 8 karat diamond ring, leading to an immediate reconciliation. SA Yi confidently stated that if the outcome fell outside these three possibilities, she would change her surname to Ding. Unexpectedly, Zhen Zheng and He Mingzhu had gotten married.
He Mingzhu had been upset that Zhen Zheng made the significant decision to quit his job and start a business without consulting her, feeling unimportant and unsupported. Zhen Zheng confessed that his actions were indeed impulsive and childish, promising to always discuss things with her in the future. He then affectionately called her his "wife," which pleased He Mingzhu. He presented her with sugar-coated haws, explaining it was a wedding gift to commemorate their sweet day.
He Mingzhu accepted, joking that he got off easy. Back at the office, the team celebrated Zhen Zheng's marriage, greeting him with a special welcome and distributing the sugar-coated haws as "wedding candy." Chi Xin vowed to make their company bigger and stronger. During a brainstorming session for their new short-video brand, they discussed ideas like food, travel, and talk shows, with a preference for a food program, especially if hosted by a tall, thin man like Chi Xin.
Later, He Mingzhu called Ding Xiaorou and SA Yi, advising them to find their own true loves soon. SA Yi playfully acknowledged losing her bet, declaring she should now be called "Ding Sasa." He Mingzhu explained that in love, even anger carries a sweetness, and that a simple gift like sugar-coated haws can be treasured if it comes from the person you love. That night, Ding Xiaorou and SA Yi pondered their own romantic futures.
SA Yi, despite her experience, felt flustered, realizing it was due to Zheng Ze. Ding Xiaorou was jolted awake by a nightmare. In it, she was at an amusement park with Chi Xin, presenting him with a ginkgo leaf, a symbol of "a lifetime of waiting," and confessing her love for him. However, Chi Xin flatly rejected her, stating he had "no feeling" for her, and instead reunited with Jiang Yuan.
Waking up, Ding Xiaorou tried to reassure herself that dreams are often the opposite of reality. At that moment, Zhen Zheng messaged her and SA Yi, asking them to meet at a coffee shop far from He Mingzhu’s shop. He revealed his secret plan to surprise He Mingzhu with a wedding on her birthday tomorrow, asking for their help to transform his coffee shop into a dream wedding venue.
He admitted he was a "technical straight man" who needed their advice on what girls liked. Ding Xiaorou suggested a heartfelt wedding was more important than an extravagant one, to which Zhen Zheng confirmed he had a budget. While Zhen Zheng was in the restroom, Ding Xiaorou asked SA Yi about Chi Xin's startup. Zhen Zheng, upon his return, innocently revealed that Chi Xin had started the company "for you," shocking Ding Xiaorou.
He went on to explain that Tong Liang had used compromising photos of Ding Xiaorou and Chi Xin to threaten Chi Xin, forcing his resignation. Chi Xin, being a man of strong principles, chose to resign rather than be blackmailed. Enraged, Ding Xiaorou took a taxi to confront Tong Liang. She accused him of using "despicable means" against Chi Xin, whom she praised as a good producer, and demanded he apologize.
Tong Liang mocked her, calling her "naive" and insinuating that she used Chi Xin to gain fame and rich men for money. He claimed he was kind not to expose her and Chi Xin's "dirty secret." Ding Xiaorou, overcome with anger from embarrassment, grabbed a wine bottle, attempting to strike him. Tong Liang dodged, bumping into a metal rack that sent a large box hurtling towards Ding Xiaorou. Chi Xin rushed in, shielding her from the falling box.
Tong Liang continued his taunts, further enraging Chi Xin, who then began to punch and kick him. Chi Xin then grabbed Ding Xiaorou's hand and pulled her away. Zheng Ze, who had also arrived to help Ding Xiaorou, watched them leave, reflecting that he was "only 50 meters short." As they walked away, Ding Xiaorou repeatedly apologized to Chi Xin, but he admonished her for confronting Tong Liang and for always causing trouble.
Hurt by his words, Ding Xiaorou angrily declared she would no longer bother him and walked away. Meanwhile, Zheng Ze met with SA Yi to "celebrate" his "confession failure." He told SA Yi that his feelings for Ding Xiaorou had begun and ended with a piece of chalk, and that sometimes love isn't about selfish possession. He would bless her if someone else could make her happy, implicitly referring to Chi Xin.
SA Yi then inquired why Zheng Ze was suspended from the hospital, and he attributed it to a "small mistake" during surgery, which he considered an "inevitable chance." They drank together to cope with their feelings. Alone at a bus stop, Ding Xiaorou sat crying and eating ice cream, telling herself to love herself even if no one else did. Back at Chi Xin's place, he received a delivery of many random groceries.
He called one of his team members, who explained he had bought them for Chi Xin and Ding Xiaorou as a "small gift" for the potential food program they had discussed. Chi Xin found the amount excessive. Later, Zhen Zheng brought fruit, planning to give some to Ding Xiaorou for her help with the surprise wedding. He then inquired about Ding Xiaorou, only for SA Yi to report that Ding Xiaorou had disappeared.
