At a bar, Song Chacha tries to avoid Lan Tian and the others, but Jiang Shi stops her. Zhao Yan flirts with Lan Tian, who uses Zhao Yan to provoke Song Chacha. Song Chacha, in turn, uses Bai Yongze to provoke Lan Tian, causing Lan Tian to leave early. Song Chacha and Bai Yongze drink together.
Song Chacha confides in Bai Yongze, expressing how she felt a strange comfort realizing Lan Tian seemed to be on a cliff's edge, wanting to push her away. As she drinks more, she shares her hardships, leading Bai Yongze to feel pity and affection for her. Later, at a bus stop, Song Chacha falls asleep, resting her head on Bai Yongze's shoulder. He feels an urge to kiss her but stops when she calls out Lan Tian's name.
Bai Yongze, hiding his heartbreak, uses Song Chacha's phone to text Lan Tian her location. He then watches from a distance as Lan Tian takes her away. Bai Yongze then goes to help Song Chacha organize her supplies in the warehouse, where he accidentally falls asleep. The next morning, he encounters Song Chacha in the elevator and, feeling awkward about helping her, falsely claims she kicked his leg last night before leaving.
Song Chacha wakes up in Lan Tian's room and quickly apologizes before leaving. Back at work, the manager scolds the staff for missing supplies from the warehouse overnight. The manager, who already dislikes Song Chacha for her connections, immediately accuses her of theft. Song Chacha is surprised to find the supplies organized and tries to explain her innocence, but struggles.
Bai Yongze learns from Jiang Shi about the accusation and, believing a toothbrush he took earlier is the cause, rushes to defend her. Lan Tian, overhearing their conversation, preempts Bai Yongze, telling the manager that Song Chacha was with him all night until morning. Song Chacha is confused about being in his room, but Lan Tian claims she called him while drunk, which she accepts. The manager, instantly becoming sycophantic towards Lan Tian, is forced to drop the accusation.
Bai Yongze quietly leaves. Despite the accusation being dropped, Song Chacha becomes an outcast. Zhao Yan, furious that Song Chacha was with Lan Tian all night, accuses her of being a schemer and betraying their friendship, vowing not to be friends with her anymore. Other colleagues shun Song Chacha, refusing to eat with her and even splashing water on her.
Song Chacha tries to explain the situation with Lan Tian to Bai Yongze, but he dismisses it, saying there's no need to explain as they aren't in any special relationship. Bai Yongze, secretly heartbroken, knows the truth: he had used Song Chacha's phone to call Lan Tian that night to pick her up. Later, Lan Tian, having taken Song Chacha home due to her high fever, went out to buy medicine.
He discovered Bai Yongze organizing Song Chacha's warehouse, confirming his suspicions about Bai Yongze's feelings for her. Lan Tian confronts Bai Yongze during a basketball game, asking if he likes Song Chacha. Bai Yongze denies it, but Lan Tian is disgusted by his dishonesty, feeling that Bai Yongze's lack of candor ruins any chance of them being friends or rivals. Later, Song Chacha finds Zhao Yan in trouble with a client who demands compensation for a scratched designer bag.
Song Chacha quickly recognizes the bag as a fake and exposes it, saving Zhao Yan from the difficult situation. Song Chacha then confesses her past relationship with Lan Tian, her bankruptcy, and being dumped by Lan Tian. Their misunderstanding is resolved, and Zhao Yan stops blaming Song Chacha, inviting her to the beach during their break, much to Song Chacha's delight, as their friendship is restored. Li Bao, fueled by resentment over Bai Yongze no longer loving her, seeks revenge.
She conspires with Reporter Xu to spread rumors and leak a video of herself with Bai Yongze. She then stages a dramatic public performance, faking a severe illness and being carried into an ambulance, all while clarifying her "platonic" relationship with Bai Yongze. Li Bao hopes this act will earn Bai Yongze's forgiveness or increase her public exposure, but Bai Yongze immediately sees through her manipulation.
Bai Yongze, suffering from severe chest pain due to overtraining, wants to go to the hospital but finds the resort entrance swarming with reporters. He secretly hides in the garden bushes. There, he encounters Song Chacha, who is on her way to meet Zhao Yan. He calls her over to hide with him. Song Chacha teases him about Li Bao, prompting Bai Yongze to earnestly explain his relationship with Li Bao.
Song Chacha, echoing his earlier words, asks why he needs to explain if they have no special relationship. After the reporters disperse, Bai Yongze seriously advises Song Chacha not to care about what others think. He encourages her to bravely pursue Lan Tian if she likes him and to do what she truly wants.
