Lan Xin and Huang Donglei break up over the phone, with Lan Xin crying after Huang Donglei tells her he understands her situation and is breaking up with her. Li Bao, who is helping Lan Xin hide a fake pregnancy, helps Lan Xin escape to see Huang Donglei by having an agent in a doll costume swap places with her. Huang Donglei, meanwhile, goes drinking with Jiaqi.
Later, Lan Xin finds a drunken Huang Donglei, and after they reconcile, they are caught by a bodyguard while being intimate. Lan Xin threatens the bodyguard from reporting her to Lan Dad and instead makes him monitor Song Chacha and Lan Tian. She later bribes the bodyguard with luxurious treatment after he gains appreciation from Secretary Chen for a video he takes.
At Song Chacha’s restaurant, Song Chacha's mother apologizes to Bai Yongze for her past misunderstandings, having learned that he saved, not harmed, Zhihao. However, she still expresses her hope for Song Chacha and Lan Tian to be together, to which Bai Yongze politely agrees. Lan Dad, whose attempts to gather information about funding the Kong family restaurant were unsuccessful, calls Lan Tian to confirm his engagement plans with Nana.
Lan Tian informs him that he has already broken up with Nana. When Lan Dad tries to threaten him with a childhood incident, Lan Tian calmly reveals that the secret is no longer a secret, he has given up on Song Chacha, disclosed the truth, and intends to quit swimming, leaving Lan Dad with no leverage. Lan Tian then hangs up and begins packing.
Song Chacha suddenly remembers it's Lan Tian's birthday, and Bai Yongze recalls Lan Tian’s strange words, realizing Lan Tian plans to secretly leave on this special day. Lan Tian, feeling disappointed that even Lan Dad forgot his birthday, tries to leave but encounters a series of frustrating obstacles: a broken elevator, no gas in his car, inability to find a taxi, and finally, a power outage in the lobby. As the lights go out, a birthday song begins to play.
Lan Tian realizes that Song Chacha and his friends have deliberately arranged all of these "obstacles" and a surprise birthday party for him. He is deeply touched, especially by Song Chacha’s forgiveness, which brings their hearts closer. During the party, Li Bao uses her fake pregnancy and supposed morning sickness to call Bai Yongze away and keep him in the room, preventing him from attending.
Bai Yongze, unable to go, messages Jiang Shi to tell everyone to leave early, giving Lan Tian and Song Chacha a chance to talk alone. After others leave, Lan Tian thanks Song Chacha for forgiving him and shares his decision to quit swimming. Song Chacha persuades him not to leave for anyone, urging him to let go of the past, emphasizing their ten years of shared memories and how he is like family to her.
While standing up to view the night scenery, Song Chacha accidentally falls into the swimming pool and cries for help. Lan Tian jumps in, calms her, helps her overcome her fear of water, and suggests teaching her to swim. The bodyguard records Lan Tian teaching Song Chacha to swim and shares the video. Lan Dad sees it and, enraged, orders Secretary Chen to acquire Kong family restaurant to remove Song Chacha.
Although the restaurant staff are willing to sell for a high price, Uncle Kong firmly opposes the sale, thereby saving the restaurant. Later, Li Bao overhears Jiang Shi discussing Song Chacha learning to swim with Lan Tian. Realizing Song Chacha is in the pool, Li Bao, seeing Bai Yongze wanting to go to the pool, clings to him and insists they go to the mall to buy baby clothes.
Bai Yongze, having no interest, makes an excuse to go to the restroom where he buys a pair of swimming goggles, presumably to give to Song Chacha. Li Bao sees his thoughtful expression from afar and appears jealous.
