Uncle Kong deceptively closed his restaurant, allowing Song Chacha to meet Bai Yongze. Song Chacha confronted her uncle about his past actions, then went on a bittersweet "last day" date with Bai Yongze, while Pu Jun covered for Bai Yongze at the hospital. They revisited old memories, listened to the rain, and discussed Song Chacha's desire for a touching marriage proposal, not necessarily with grand gestures. Despite Song Chacha’s happiness, Bai Yongze was somber, viewing it as their final farewell.
They shared a reluctant embrace before parting ways. Bai Yongze then went to Li Bao's home. His parents, visiting the hospital, discovered Pu Jun’s deception and suspected Bai Yongze was with Li Bao, prompting them to return to Beijing. At Li Bao's house, Li Bao attempted to force Bai Yongze to share her bed by filling the guest room. Bai Yongze refused, sleeping on the sofa or discreetly leaving after Li Bao fell asleep.
To avoid being a freeloader, he insisted on becoming her assistant. Meanwhile, Bai Yongze continued his rehabilitation, sending photos to Lan Tian, and even coached Lan Tian on how to pursue Song Chacha, relaying her wishes for a heartfelt proposal. Lan Tian, following Bai Yongze's advice, performed a dance and proposed to Song Chacha. Feeling it would put Bai Yongze at ease, Song Chacha passively accepted the engagement.
Reporter Xu’s investigation uncovered new evidence: a witness revealed that Lan Tian had instigated Song Zhihao’s race eleven years prior, and it was Bai Yongze who had saved him, providing Lan Tian’s lost necklace as proof. Song Chacha, accompanied by Lan Tian, went to Beijing to inform Chairman Lan of their engagement and tried on wedding dresses.
Later, while Bai Yongze was waiting in a car for Li Bao, he was assaulted and pushed to the ground by someone attempting to steal a parking spot. Song Chacha witnessed his helplessness and was heartbroken. Lan Tian soon arrived. Bai Yongze, seeing the engagement ring on Song Chacha's finger, feigned indifference and asked about Lan Tian's whereabouts. Lan Tian exchanged pleasantries and then led a distraught Song Chacha away.
He comforted her, allowing her to cry in his arms but instructing her to only think of him from the next day onward. Lan Tian and Song Chacha then informed Chairman Lan of their engagement, to which Chairman Lan scornfully accused Song Chacha of manipulating both men, turning to Lan Tian only after Bai Yongze became "useless."
