Mr. Swimmer Episode 33 Recap
> Mr. Swimmer Recap
After over ten hours of surgery, Bai Yongze's life is saved, but he is left paralyzed on his right side. He wakes up in despair, unable to accept his condition and breaks down crying. His parents are heartbroken but afraid to see him. Song Chacha, confined by her uncle and mother, asks Zhao Yan to check on Bai Yongze. Zhao Yan and Jiang Shi visit the hospital, learn of Bai Yongze's paralysis, and inform Song Chacha.
Heartbroken, Song Chacha blames her uncle for Bai Yongze's accident and argues with her family. Her mother also gets upset when her uncle mentions Song Zhihao, forbidding Song Chacha from seeing Bai Yongze. The swim team, informed by Jiang Shi, expresses sympathy for Bai Yongze, while Luo Guanjie blames Lan Tian for not preventing the accident. Lan Tian, feeling guilty and sorry, helps Song Chacha see Bai Yongze by pretending it's a date.
Song Chacha apologizes and thanks Lan Tian, who dismisses it as a transaction. At the hospital, Song Chacha cries upon seeing Bai Yongze. He comforts her, making light of his condition and urging her not to blame herself. They spend a happy day together, walking and laughing, much to the jealousy of Lan Tian, who observes them feeling pathetic but committed to helping Song Chacha.
After Song Chacha leaves, Bai Yongze becomes reclusive, refusing rehabilitation and avoiding visitors like Luo Guanjie and Jiang Shi. Even Coach Huang Donglei and Teacher Fang scold him to no avail. Lan Tian, dropping Song Chacha home, experiences a hallucination stemming from his guilt over Song Zhihao, inadvertently admitting his role in deceiving Song Zhihao. Regaining clarity, Lan Tian blames Bai Yongze for not revealing the truth, causing him immense pain.
Bai Yongze had hoped to join the national team, win the Olympics, and then reveal everything to be with Song Chacha, but his rigorous rehabilitation shows no progress, leaving him disheartened and depressed. Li Bao arrives in Hainan to visit Bai Yongze, trying to persuade him to return to Beijing for treatment and her care, but he initially refuses.
Outside his room, she encounters Song Chacha, slaps her, and boasts that Bai Yongze has agreed to return to Beijing with her. Li Bao accuses Song Chacha of being unable to manage her own family affairs, let alone care for Bai Yongze. Song Chacha dismisses Li Bao's claims. Song Chacha secretly continues to visit Bai Yongze, often under the guise of dating Lan Tian.
However, her uncle discovers her visits and, in a fit of rage, reveals to Song Chacha's mother that her father is dead and his company bankrupt. Song Chacha's mother faints from shock and grief. Song Chacha returns home, angry at her uncle but helpless, and focuses on caring for her grieving mother, who is in denial and keeps asking for her husband.
The weight of her family's plight makes Song Chacha feel powerless, and she begins to reconsider Li Bao's words, believing she might be a burden to Bai Yongze. She messages Bai Yongze that she'll visit after her family matters are settled, leading Bai Yongze to also question if reuniting with Song Chacha is a mistake. Lan Tian finally visits Bai Yongze.
Bai Yongze sits up and tells Lan Tian that he is the only one who loves Song Chacha as much as he does. Bai Yongze asks Lan Tian to pursue and care for Song Chacha, explaining that he withheld the truth from her to foster her trust in Lan Tian. Lan Tian agrees, but only on the condition that Bai Yongze commits to daily rehabilitation and provides photo proof.
Bai Yongze then calls Li Bao and informs her of his decision to return to Beijing for treatment. Li Bao is ecstatic, her joy so intense it ruins her acting, prompting the director to angrily dismiss the crew early. Lan Tian informs Song Chacha of Bai Yongze's decision and asks her to see him. Song Chacha, still reeling from her mother's grief and reflecting on Li Bao's words, becomes thoughtful about her future.
