Song Chacha confronted Bai Yongze, demanding an explanation for their breakup, stating she would not agree to it without a credible reason. Her mother, who suffered from amnesia, suddenly remembered Zhihao, which caused Bai Yongze immense pain. Soon after, Uncle Kong called Song Chacha away because her mother mentioned Song Zhihao, preventing Bai Yongze from further explanation. Meanwhile, Huang Donglei, fed up with Lan Xin after she locked him in a room overnight, found her unbearable.
Lan Xin proposed marriage as an apology, thinking he would be moved, but instead, he became furious and left. Later, Lan Xin believed Huang Donglei wanted to propose, and eagerly went to meet him, only for him to angrily declare he would call the police if she continued to harass him, leaving her bewildered.
On the day of the swimming competition, Bai Yongze performed well, avoided relapsing, and won first place, watched by a large crowd, including Li Bao and Song Chacha. He gave Song Chacha a final, farewell kiss. Afterwards, Song Chacha found him, congratulating him but expressing her sadness, stating that while he seemed to be doing well without her, she could not be happy, as she simply couldn't forget him.
Li Bao suddenly rushed forward, attempting to hit Song Chacha, but Lan Tian intervened, grabbing Li Bao's hand. Bai Yongze, wanting to push Song Chacha away, told Lan Tian to release Li Bao, asserting that Li Bao was someone he cherished and not to be touched. Lan Tian then pulled Song Chacha away.
Overwhelmed by jealousy that Song Chacha couldn't forget Bai Yongze, and recalling his mother's dying words about either being honest with Song Chacha or leaving her, Lan Tian decided to harm Bai Yongze. He called reporter Xu, instructing him to publish a news report about Bai Yongze causing Song Zhihao's drowning in his childhood. Lan Tian’s jealousy transformed into resentment, and he felt a strong urge to beat Bai Yongze.
Later that evening, Bai Yongze decided to tell Song Chacha the truth and arranged to meet her. Song Chacha happily met him, but he confessed that he had caused Song Zhihao's death. Song Chacha was devastated, initially refusing to believe him, then screaming that she hated him and regretted knowing him, accusing him of being too cruel and forcing her to bear such a burden, before crying and leaving.
In immense pain, Bai Yongze went to Lan Tian, asking him to beat him. Lan Tian, however, was furious that Bai Yongze had confessed. Jealous of Bai Yongze's courage to be completely honest with his loved one and protect his love so fearlessly, something Lan Tian felt he couldn't do, he lashed out, accusing Bai Yongze of making Song Chacha suffer alongside him simply because he feared bearing the pain alone.
The next day, the story about Bai Yongze and Zhihao was published in the newspaper. Song Chacha's mother immediately fainted upon seeing it. Song Chacha rushed her mother to the hospital and, with no one else to turn to, called Lan Tian for help. When others in the changing room doubted the report, Bai Yongze confirmed it was true, leading to their disappointment. Journalists quickly surrounded the resort.
Seeing Song Chacha's softening attitude towards Bai Yongze, despite his confession, Lan Tian deliberately spoke ill of Bai Yongze, claiming he only confessed because he knew the report was about to be published. Song Chacha blamed herself for her conflicting emotions and sought a place to calm down. Meanwhile, the convenience store owner, upon seeing the news, called reporter Xu to correct the story.
He clarified that the child who instigated Song Zhihao to go into the water and then disappeared was not Bai Yongze, but rather Bai Yongze was the one who bravely tried to save Song Zhihao. Reporter Xu immediately informed Lan Tian, who became enraged and ordered him to silence the convenience store owner, preventing the truth from being exposed, fearing his own involvement. Bai Yongze's father also clarified the drowning incident to reporters.
Li Bao took the opportunity to express her love for Bai Yongze, which Huang Donglei considered further trouble, driving away the reporters, Bai Yongze's father, and Li Bao. Bai Yongze became depressed, skipping training to avoid reporters. Lan Tian, feeling guilty, invited Brother Yu to motivate Bai Yongze, arranging for them to compete together again, which helped Bai Yongze regain his spirit.
Song Chacha confided in Zhao Yan that Zhihao was her brother, but she still couldn't let go of Bai Yongze. Jiang Shi approached them, asking about Song Chacha and Bai Yongze's relationship, to which Zhao Yan replied they were enemies. Bai Yongze then arrived, and he and Song Chacha exchanged glances filled with complex emotions. While hiding from reporters, Bai Yongze also secretly followed and guarded Song Chacha.
