Song Chacha decides to resume her role as Bai Yongze's private chef, forgoing cooking classes to focus entirely on his well-being. She consults a nutritionist and implements a strict regimen, managing his diet, schedule, and even clothes, making his life chaotic but improving his health significantly. Bai Yongze outwardly complains but is secretly delighted by her attentiveness, which is evident when his lactic acid levels drop.
This closeness is observed by Lan Tian and Jiang Shi during an awkward moment when Song Chacha is feeding Bai Yongze a banana. Lan Tian is deeply upset by Song Chacha's dedication to Bai Yongze. He initially questions her reasons but suppresses his anger to avoid damaging their relationship. Instead, he channels his frustration by challenging Bai Yongze to train with him.
At the pool, Bai Yongze openly teaches Lan Tian his unique breathing techniques, causing Lan Tian to feel a pang of guilt and pretend to support Song Chacha's decision to be Bai Yongze's chef. Lan Tian later invites Song Chacha to watch his upcoming competition, which she agrees to after Bai Yongze nods his approval. Meanwhile, rumors spread after Bai Yongze cancels his participation in an event.
Li Bao seizes the opportunity to generate publicity, arranging for a reporter to write a story claiming she filmed a swimsuit ad to financially support Bai Yongze during a career low. Bai Yongze is angered by the fabricated story and confronts Li Bao, who is doing interviews and reveling in the increased sales from the scandal.
Fearing Song Chacha's worry, Bai Yongze calls her to explain, but Song Chacha is unconcerned with the news, focused instead on ordering him "Swimming Hero" brand swimming goggles. Bai Yongze later dreams of competing with a robot "Swimming Hero" and wakes to find swimming gear and a loving note from Song Chacha by his bed.
During the National Swimming Qualification Competition, Lan Xin attends and secretly tells Song Chacha that Lan Tian has something surprising planned for her if he places. Coach Huang Donglei tries to avoid Lan Xin. Song Chacha messages Bai Yongze to check on him while cheering for Lan Tian. Lan Tian swims with great determination, hoping to win Song Chacha's heart. However, Bai Yongze, who was swimming at a resort, suffers an attack and becomes unconscious in the water.
His parents, along with Pu, rush him to the hospital after he is found floating. Lan Tian finishes third, and Song Chacha tries to inform Bai Yongze but receives no reply. After the competition, Lan Tian, having prepared a romantic room adorned with flowers and soft music, attempts to propose to Song Chacha.
However, Song Chacha realizes it's too late, returns the flowers, and rejects him before he can speak, stating her love for Bai Yongze and leaving to find him. Lan Tian is left heartbroken. Separately, Luo Guanjie is deeply disappointed by his failure to place in the competition, which intensifies his worry over his family's financial struggles, including an urgent demand for rent, making him vow to win for his mother's honor.
