As promised, Lei Chuxia brings a freshly made "Summer's Kiss" cake to Wei Xuanhe's company. Although the receptionist initially mistakes her for a delivery person and then a fan, Xuanhe's assistant, Li Geng, recognizes her and accepts the cake on his boss's behalf. As Chuxia is leaving, she runs into Qin Yue, who immediately confronts her.

Asserting her dominance, Qin Yue informs Chuxia that she and Xuanhe have been together for two years and warns her to stay away, dismissing any possibility of a reunion. Chuxia quickly reassures her that she has no interest in getting back with Xuanhe, an answer that visibly pleases Qin Yue. In his office, Wei Xuanhe tastes the cake and is stunned to find it tastes exactly the same as it did ten years ago.

A wave of anxiety washes over him as he worries that this might mean Chuxia's memories are returning, a development he secretly dreads. When Qin Yue enters, he has her taste the cake and then instructs her to use her platform as a beauty vlogger to do a promotional live stream for it. He pointedly remarks that people can't easily abandon their past.

Furious at being ordered around to help his ex-girlfriend, Qin Yue waits until he leaves for a meeting before smashing the remaining cake in a fit of rage. On her way back to the shop, Lei Chuxia feels an unnerving sensation of being followed. Her instincts are correct; a man named Wang Yixin is secretly tracking her, using a device to collect a strange energy she emits.

After accidentally knocking over a planter and startling her, he notices the energy collection rate spikes dramatically when she is distressed, giving him a new, sinister idea. Back at Summer Time, Chuxia continues her daily ritual of placing a "Summer's Kiss" cake on display, hoping to attract the mysterious customer who ordered it a decade ago but never picked it up.

To help, Yuan Yuan compiles a list of old customers, suggesting Chuxia could visit them under the pretext of making deliveries. Chuxia agrees, but since she can't ride a scooter and taking a taxi is too expensive, she prepares to set out on a simple bicycle. Just then, Wei Xuanhe arrives with a thank-you gift of designer bags. Seeing her precarious delivery setup, he insists on driving her, arguing that the cake would be ruined otherwise.

Their delivery trip is filmed by a customer and quickly goes viral online, with captions suggesting Xuanhe is Chuxia's wealthy and caring boyfriend. When Xu Xiaodong sees the video, he becomes sullen. Later, finding Chuxia exhausted after a long day of fruitless deliveries, he feels a pang of sympathy and decides to take action. He stays up all night and develops a custom delivery application for Summer Time.

He cleverly names the app "Dong Xia," a combination of his and Chuxia's names, and includes a special feature: customers can get their order for free if they leave a message sharing a story about "Summer's Kiss" from ten years ago, creating a much more efficient way for Chuxia to find her long-lost customer. The next day, when Wei Xuanhe calls to offer his driving services again, Chuxia happily tells him about their new app, effectively shutting him down.

Not to be outdone, Xuanhe immediately calls Qin Yue and pressures her to do the promotional live stream for Summer Time. Qin Yue calmly agrees, but she has her own plan. During the broadcast, she spins a romantic tale not about Chuxia and Xuanhe, but about the sweet shop owner and a brilliant programmer who fell in love, using the "Dong Xia" app as evidence of their relationship. The story works, and new customers flock to the shop.

Xuanhe is enraged at being double-crossed, while Xu Xiaodong, despite the positive outcome, feels he lost the round in their rivalry. Refusing to concede defeat, Xu Xiaodong launches his own counterattack. Logging into the popular game "Battle of the Saints" as his powerful alter ego, Winter, he issues a system-wide announcement: any player who presents a receipt from Summer Time can redeem it for limited edition equipment and in-game gift packs.

The promotion is a massive success, and the bakery is instantly mobbed by hordes of enthusiastic gamers. To celebrate their booming sales, Chuxia, Xu Xiaodong, Yuan Yuan, and Jin Xiaorui go out for dinner. Chuxia heaps praise upon the mysterious gamer "Winter," expressing immense gratitude and even fantasizing with Yuan Yuan about making a life-size plushie of him. Xu Xiaodong can only listen in silence, growing increasingly jealous of his own secret identity.

As Chuxia and Xu Xiaodong are heading home, Wei Xuanhe appears with flowers, offering to drive her. To shut him down, Xu Xiaodong declares that he and Chuxia are living together. Feigning concern that Chuxia has nowhere else to stay, Xuanhe hands her a set of keys, claiming they are for the marital home they had prepared ten years ago. He presses them into her hands and leaves her and a fuming Xu Xiaodong in stunned silence.

On the ride home, Chuxia stares at the keys, unsettled by the revelation that her past with Xuanhe was apparently so serious. She muses aloud that perhaps Xuanhe was right and that it's inappropriate for her to continue living at Xu Xiaodong's place. This is the last straw for Xu Xiaodong.

He angrily warns her that Wei Xuanhe is a dangerous person and that if she chooses to go to him and gets hurt, he won't be there to pick up the pieces. Hurt by his harsh words, Chuxia demands he stop the car and gets out. After a quick call confirms Yuan Yuan is busy at the movies with Jin Xiaorui, Chuxia, feeling alone, hails a taxi to the one place she can go: the empty Summer Time shop. As she tries to sleep on the sofa in the dark, she hears a noise and sees a shadowy figure lurking outside the door, filling her with terror.
