Love Under the Full Moon Episode 3 Recap
> Love Under the Full Moon Recap
While Xu Xiaodong is copying data from Li Mingyu's phone at a private golf club, the situation becomes critical when Li, proud of his 82-stroke score, decides he wants to take a photo of the results to send to a friend. Just as he's about to retrieve his phone, Lei Chuxia, waiting nearby, accidentally touches a remote. The club's electronic systems go haywire, flashing celebratory messages like "Hole in one!" and "Eagle!"
This chaos successfully diverts Li Mingyu's attention, allowing a relieved Xu Xiaodong to complete the data transfer. In the ensuing confusion, the manager fires Xu Xiaodong and demands compensation for the disturbance. Without arguing, Xiaodong simply hands the manager a black card and leaves with Lei Chuxia. Lei Chuxia profusely apologizes for getting him fired, but Xu Xiaodong is unconcerned, as the job was merely a means to an end.
After his AI, Turing, confirms that the data from Li Mingyu's phone shows no direct link to the decade-old infringement case involving his father's company, Piggy Tech, they move on to his next part-time job at a coffee shop to continue the investigation. At the cafe, Xu Xiaodong's friend Jin Xiaorui arrives, having brought a psychologist, Dr. Tian Yu, to assess Xiaodong's mental state. Xiaodong, busy working, dismisses them.
Undeterred, Jin Xiaorui begins explaining Xiaodong's recent strange behavior to the doctor, describing his friend's supposed delusion of a "pretty girl under the moonlight." When the cashier takes a bathroom break, Xu Xiaodong seizes the opportunity to copy data from the cafe's computer. The cashier returns sooner than expected, so to create a diversion and buy more time, Xiaodong orders a new dessert for Lei Chuxia.
Due to a promotion, the purchase earns them a free lucky draw, and he wins a giant teddy bear. When Xu Xiaodong presents the large bear to Lei Chuxia, Jin Xiaorui is stunned to see his friend being so kind to a strange girl. He concludes to Dr. Tian that Xiaodong's mind must have been "broken by that devil." Lei Chuxia overhears Jin Xiaorui's insult and decides to teach him a lesson.
She follows him to the bathroom and uses her magnetic abilities to make the lights flicker violently and the fire sprinklers go off, soaking and terrifying him. Shortly after, Turing confirms the cafe's system code is also unrelated to his father's patent. Finding Lei Chuxia gone from her seat, Xu Xiaodong goes looking for her and runs into a drenched Jin Xiaorui, who is ranting about the "devil."
Xu Xiaodong finally introduces the two, revealing that Lei Chuxia is, in fact, the girl he's been talking about. Back at Xu Xiaodong's apartment, he explains Lei Chuxia's mysterious appearance to a dumbfounded Jin Xiaorui. Their conversation is interrupted by the arrival of Xu Xiaodong's aunt, Shen Weiwei.
She is there to ask her nephew for a favor: to return a jacket to a man named Chen Mo, a professor at Tongcheng University, and to find out if he has a girlfriend. In a flashback, it's shown that Shen Weiwei, an insurance agent, met the handsome professor when he attended her seminar. Chen Mo, an astrophysicist, publicly dismantled her sales pitch with sharp logic, but Shen Weiwei was smitten.
As she chased after him to continue her pitch, she nearly fell, and he caught her, chivalrously draping his jacket over her shoulders. Xu Xiaodong initially refuses to help his aunt's romantic pursuits. However, Jin Xiaorui quietly points out that as an astrophysicist, Chen Mo might be the one person who can explain Lei Chuxia's condition. Realizing the potential, Xu Xiaodong agrees. He and Lei Chuxia visit Professor Chen Mo, whose home electronics immediately malfunction upon her entry.
Intrigued, Chen Mo analyzes her and discovers an unusually strong magnetic field. He theorizes that her appearance is connected to a gravitational wave that reached Earth during the recent supermoon. Unseen by them, one of Chen Mo's students, Wang Yixin, eavesdrops on their conversation. Leaving the university, Lei Chuxia feels dejected, wondering if she did something horrible in a past life to deserve her current fate.
To comfort her, Xu Xiaodong sits with her on a park bench and shares the story behind his old, outdated phone. It was the last gift from his father, a programming genius who died of a heart attack after being framed for plagiarism just before he could launch his revolutionary software. Elsewhere in the city, Wei Xuanhe is leaving a lecture when he spots Lei Chuxia from a distance.
He is visibly shocked, as he believes she died ten years ago after he was responsible for her fall from a cliff. That night, he has a nightmare about the incident and wakes up in a panic at his girlfriend Qin Yue's apartment. She comforts him, and he resolves to deal with the past. The next day, he visits Lei Chuxia's parents and proposes holding a memorial service for her.
They react with fury, insisting their daughter is still alive, and throw him out. Undeterred, Wei Xuanhe tells Qin Yue he will proceed with the service anyway, and she offers her help to make it happen. Having now investigated and ruled out all but one of the original eight shareholders of Piggy Tech, Xu Xiaodong is certain the final culprit is Zhao Yaoyang, the founder of Yao Yang Tech.
To get access to the company's core data, he makes a deal with his team leader, Zhou Sui. He wagers that he can revive a failing mobile game, "Candy Game," in just one week. If he succeeds, Zhou Sui must get him a position on the core project team.
