Distraught by Lei Chuxia's impending departure and their unfulfilled childhood pact to be each other's bridesmaids and "cool old ladies," Yuan Yuan went to Jin Xiaorui. She abruptly asked him to marry her, stating, "The sooner, the better," explaining that it was because Lei Chuxia was leaving them soon. Jin Xiaorui, initially concerned, readily agreed.

After being informed by Qin Yue that Xu Xiaodong was the true Winter and intended for him and Zhao Yao Yang to face consequences, Wei Xuanhe called Xu Xiaodong, arranging to meet at Summer Time. While there, Wei Xuanhe encountered Lei Chuxia, whose hand was visibly transparent, a worsening of her condition. He noted this, questioning why she was having such issues given Wang Yixin's disappearance.

Lei Chuxia urged him to take down "Family First" due to its danger and confess about Xu Xiaodong's father’s case, warning that Winter would not forgive him. Wei Xuanhe, now aware of Winter's identity, subtly hinted at Lei Chuxia’s deteriorating health as leverage, suggesting that destiny might soon deliver an unpleasant surprise to Xu Xiaodong. Xu Xiaodong arrived at Summer Time, was told Lei Chuxia had left, and understanding Wei Xuanhe's veiled threat, rushed to find her.

He found her on a swing set, attempting to distract him with light conversation. Xu Xiaodong observed her transparent left hand. Without a word, he took her hand, a moment that filled the air with sadness and gravity. Xu Xiaodong and Lei Chuxia then visited Professor Chen. Xu Xiaodong pleaded for a way to prevent Lei Chuxia’s disappearance.

Professor Chen explained a theoretical solution: Lei Chuxia could avoid disappearing by returning to ten years ago, thereby eliminating her reliance on gravitational wave energy. However, he admitted his inability to fix Wang Yixin's machine. Recalling Wei Xuanhe's earlier hint, Xu Xiaodong asked if obtaining Wang Yixin’s experimental materials would improve the chances of repair, to which Professor Chen affirmed.

Professor Chen then excused Xu Xiaodong to assist Gao Liang with a computer issue, allowing him to speak privately with Lei Chuxia. He warned her that returning to the past could trap her in an infinite loop, where the gravitational wave might repeatedly send her to ten years later, a concept akin to Feynman's path integral theory or a Mobius strip, suggesting that history might be unchangeable.

Despite this, Lei Chuxia found solace in the idea of countless encounters and loves, even if it meant experiencing cosmic anomalies repeatedly. Professor Chen then offered another possibility: Everett’s "many-worlds interpretation," or parallel worlds. He explained that if she returned, it might be to a different parallel world where her choices would lead to different outcomes, but she would still ultimately face a destined choice.

After their discussion with Professor Chen, Lei Chuxia seemed troubled, though she downplayed it to Xu Xiaodong. They returned to Summer Time, where Yuan Yuan excitedly announced her and Jin Xiaorui’s wedding plans. Lei Chuxia, feigning surprise, playfully urged Jin Xiaorui to plan a grand proposal, joking about Yuan Yuan's "humble-brag" and "Mary Sue" tendencies. Lei Chuxia then soberly asked Yuan Yuan if she would still marry Jin Xiaorui if their childhood pact hadn't existed.

Yuan Yuan's sincere "I will," echoed by Jin Xiaorui, brought Lei Chuxia peace. To celebrate and encourage happiness, Lei Chuxia led them in a pinky swear, promising to remain joyful and free of sorrow, telling Yuan Yuan not to cry so she wouldn’t be ugly at her wedding. Lei Chuxia resolved to cherish this moment forever.

Later, aware of her impending departure, Lei Chuxia recorded a video message for Xu Xiaodong, asking him not to be sad or regretful, as her leaving was her destined choice. Driven by his determination to save Lei Chuxia, Xu Xiaodong secretly met Wei Xuanhe. In exchange for all of Wang Yixin’s critical research records, Xu Xiaodong agreed to relinquish his Winter identity.

Wei Xuanhe, now in possession of Winter’s online persona, logged into the "Battle of the Saints" game and then made a public announcement, claiming that he was Winter and that all prior negative comments about Cyber Tech's "Family First" system were the result of a hacked account. He leveraged Winter’s vast influence, leading to a significant increase in "Family First" downloads.

Wei Xuanhe relished in his success, instructing his team to deploy paid posters and substitute gamers to maintain Winter’s presence in the game, gloating that Xu Xiaodong’s painstakingly built virtual world had become his stepping stone. Upon seeing the news and unable to reach Xu Xiaodong by phone, Lei Chuxia realized the extent of his silent sacrifice for her.

She confronted him at Professor Chen's lab, having understood that he was the one who had always been secretly protecting and helping her. She proposed they reclaim Winter’s identity, but Xu Xiaodong, his only desire being her safety, gently refused, stating that his sole wish was for her to be well. Unable to confront Wei Xuanhe directly at Cyber Tech due to his bodyguards, Lei Chuxia resorted to a final measure: she sought out Wei Guopeng, Wei Xuanhe's father.

She explained that Wei Xuanhe had committed numerous wrongdoings over the past decade, and while she hadn't wanted to bother him due to his poor health, the "Family First" app was now gravely threatening user lives, believing only he could intervene. Wei Guopeng, expressing deep regret for Xuanhe's actions and for his past opposition to their marriage, promised to talk to his son and guide him back to the right path.

Lei Chuxia, however, assured him that there was no need for regret, as "everything is arranged." Later, Wei Guopeng summoned Wei Xuanhe, angrily questioning his actions with "Family First" and accusing him of shaming the family. He declared Wei Xuanhe unworthy to be his son and ordered him to leave.

Wei Xuanhe fiercely retorted that he never desired to be Wei Guopeng's son, accusing his father of never caring for him, providing no fatherly love, and never attempting to understand his dedication and hard work on "Family First." He asserted that his father only valued the family’s reputation and his own prestige, noting he likely hadn't even opened the "Family First" app installed on his phone.

Meanwhile, at Yao Yang Tech, Wei Xuanhe’s chaotic management of "Battle of the Saints" was apparent. Xu Xiaodong's former colleagues observed that the game, once promised to be free by Winter, now charged fees, and Winter's in-game behavior had become aggressive and uncharacteristic. They concluded that this Winter was not the real Winter and lamented their idol's tarnished image. Lei Chuxia approached them, including "Brother Sui," to ask for their help.

After a playful yet firm exchange where she subtly leveraged her knowledge of Xu Xiaodong helping Brother Sui, she convinced them to assist. Lei Chuxia explained that the true Winter had not changed, and the task was to help maintain the game world until the real Winter could return. Despite their shock at discovering Lei Chuxia’s close connection to Winter, the group, identifying as the "Lone Wolves Alliance," enthusiastically committed to the cause, proclaiming they would "fight for Winter."
