Despite Wei Xuanhe’s attempt to intervene, Lei Chuxia’s parents catch up to her. Overwhelmed, Chuxia runs away as her mother tearfully pleads for her to come home. Chuxia insists they have the wrong person. Seeing his daughter's distress, Chuxia's father calms his wife, sensing that Chuxia must have her reasons for not acknowledging them. He pulls Xu Xiaodong aside, entrusting him with the care of his "friend," whom he knows is their cherished daughter.
Later, a dejected Lei Chuxia confides in Xu Xiaodong, lamenting that all she wants is a normal life with her parents, free from the terrifying gaps in her memory. Bolstered by Xu Xiaodong’s support, she resolves to face the danger and tell her parents the truth, unable to bear them living in sorrow any longer.
Xu Xiaodong arranges another meeting, where he explains to her parents that Chuxia has amnesia and cannot reunite with them yet due to unresolved dangers from her past. They are heartbroken but understanding. Her mother devises a plan: since Chuxia always dreamed of being a pastry chef, they will revisit all the places they traveled to, collecting recipes for her favorite desserts, hoping the familiar tastes might trigger her memories.
They promise to wait for her and ask Xu Xiaodong to pass on their unwavering support. Meanwhile, Wei Xuanhe's relationship with Qin Yue deepens. When Qin Yue is pressured to drink with difficult clients, Wei Xuanhe, initially dismissive, changes his mind and comes to her rescue, drinking heavily on her behalf. Afterwards, Qin Yue senses his concern for her, noting that his heart is starting to waver, though he stubbornly denies it.
Back at his apartment, he allows her to leave some of her belongings, a significant step in their relationship. However, his walls remain up; when he receives a call from Zhao Yaoyang about a security breach at Yao Yang Tech, he sharply warns Qin Yue not to cross certain boundaries. Zhao Yaoyang informs him their server was hacked and the source code deciphered, suggesting someone is investigating the past. Wei Xuanhe, however, seems unconcerned.
Lei Chuxia’s wristband is finally repaired, granting her the freedom to move around on her own. Just as she celebrates her newfound independence, Xu Xiaodong receives a message from his colleague, Zhou Sui, informing him of a rare opportunity to access Yao Yang Tech’s mainframe room during its relocation. Encouraged by Chuxia, he heads to the company. Zhou Sui provides Xu Xiaodong with a worker's uniform to sneak in, admitting that neither of them has the proper clearance.
After some playful interrogation, Zhou Sui confirms his suspicion that Xu Xiaodong intends to copy the company's source code. Xu Xiaodong cleverly leverages a project he just completed to ensure Zhou Sui's full cooperation. He successfully bluffs his way past security and into the server room. Shortly after Xu Xiaodong copies the source code, an alarm is triggered throughout Yao Yang Tech.
Management immediately suspects an inside job and launches a full-scale investigation, demanding that all employees surrender their computers, hard drives, and mobile phones for inspection. While his colleagues panic, Xu Xiaodong remains composed. In the washroom, a terrified Zhou Sui confronts him. Xu Xiaodong calmly explains that he anticipated the alarm, as it’s a security feature designed to activate when the encrypted code is cracked.
He proceeds to playfully torment Zhou Sui by pretending he forgot to erase the surveillance footage, only to reveal that he meticulously covered all his tracks, even knowing that the main entrance camera had been broken for a week. The company's drastic reaction confirms Xu Xiaodong's suspicion that the source code contains a major secret about Zhao Yaoyang. While Xu Xiaodong is at work, Lei Chuxia uses Turing to analyze the fragments of her past.
She recalls Wei Xuanhe taking her to the Peninsula Restaurant, which he claimed they had always wanted to visit during college but never could. Turing flags an inconsistency: the restaurant opened in 2012, a year after her disappearance. The realization that Wei Xuanhe lied to her leaves Chuxia deeply unsettled. At Summer Time, as her friend Yuan Yuan prepares for the shop's tenth anniversary, another memory surfaces.
While watching Yuan Yuan search through a box, Chuxia vividly recalls seeing Wei Xuanhe in her bedroom on the night she disappeared, frantically rummaging through her things. She remembers him saying, "This is a critical period for my first venture. You can't do this to me." After confirming the date of her disappearance with Yuan Yuan, she realizes the gravity of this memory and rushes to see her therapist, Dr. Tian Yu.
She tries to call Xu Xiaodong, but his phone has been confiscated. She sends him a text message instead, urging him to call her back. In the taxi, she pieces everything together: Wei Xuanhe lied about the restaurant, and his alibi for the night she vanished is now shattered. For the first time, she suspects he is directly connected to her disappearance. Elsewhere, a desperate physicist named Wang Yixin forces his way into Shanyun Hulian to see Wei Xuanhe.
He tells Wei Xuanhe that he knows Lei Chuxia's secret: she didn't age for ten years because she was attached to a gravitational wave, and her wristband acts as a stabilizer. He proposes a collaboration, offering to help restore Chuxia's memory in exchange for research funding.
Intrigued, Wei Xuanhe looks up information on gravitational waves, pondering Chuxia’s mysterious return at such a critical point in his career and fearing that she may be starting to remember what truly happened ten years ago.
