Even if they were brothers, he said he would never forgive Jinxiu. Jinxiu explained the recent events, saying everything was too much of a coincidence—it must be orchestrated by someone, and that person was very likely the Heavenly Maiden. Mu Xian absorbed the inner core and recalled Bai Cha’s words.

She now had to rely on the core to sustain herself and didn’t have much time left to take her revenge. The Divine Queen visited the Celestial Tome Master, wanting to know why the two Celestial Monarch Stars had been undergoing trials in the mortal realm for twenty years without any news. The Heavenly Emperor also arrived and asked what the Divine Queen was doing there.

The Divine Queen said if the Heavenly Emperor could care about Jinxiu, then she could certainly care about Kunlun. The Celestial Tome Master warned that interfering in a Celestial Monarch Star’s trial would bring divine punishment. Jinxiu and the others went to the outskirts. Lu Jiu found it strange—they were clearly in charge of what happened in the city, so why go all the way out here?

Jinxiu explained that too many people had gotten into trouble recently—they had to investigate. They arrived at a cabin in the mountains and found Mu Xian there. Jinxiu asked if she was the owner of the place. Mu Xian said she was just staying temporarily. Mu Xian warned them that the place was dangerous and told them to leave quickly. Jinxiu asked why she would stay if it was dangerous.

Mu Xian said if they insisted on staying, then they should just be careful. That night, Wang Hu went to Mu Xian’s room and claimed that his wife was virtuous, but if Mu Xian followed him, he could give her a good life. Suddenly, Wang Hu ran out screaming that he had seen a ghost—that the woman was a ghost. Jinxiu came over and asked Mu Xian why she was toying with his subordinate.

Mu Xian replied that Jinxiu should manage his people better instead of blaming her. Jinxiu admitted he failed to manage his man and apologized to Mu Xian, but said that if there was something else lurking here, they still had to catch it. Mu Xian said she was the only one here. She was a demon hunter and had already warned them to leave. The next day, Wang Hu’s corpse was found, and many people suspected Mu Xian.

She came to examine the body and found a wound on his neck. Jinxiu questioned her, but she said it had nothing to do with her. Jinxiu brought up the case in the city—Zheng Ke had a guilty conscience and plastered talismans all over his room, but on the day the Lotus Spirit struck, the talismans all failed.

He suspected the one who helped the Lotus Spirit was a demon hunter—someone like Mu Xian. She replied that if Jinxiu suspected her, why bother questioning her at all? That night, Mu Xian came to Jinxiu’s room and asked if he was attracted to her appearance. She sat in his lap, trying to seduce him. The real Mu Xian, who had been listening outside, rushed in and said she couldn’t stand someone using her face for such acts.

She fought with Bi Qin. The impostor was actually the Peach Demon, Bi Qin, who revealed his true form and fled. Mu Xian and Jinxiu gave chase and fought Bi Qin. Mu Xian was injured, and Jinxiu took her back. Her wound was on her shoulder—Jinxiu offered to help apply medicine, but Mu Xian declined. However, since she couldn’t do it herself, she had no choice but to let Jinxiu help.
