Hongning’s parents arrived, and Fat Auntie also came. Hongning said she hadn’t told her parents about such an important matter and asked if they would be angry. Baibuqu thought Hongning had failed several minor exams and wrote a guide for her, planning to give it to her. The other disciples were speechless—she was getting married, who still cared about exams? On the wedding day, Jinxiu said to prevent accidents, they needed to guard the entrance and check invitations carefully—only those with invitations could enter. Jinxiu asked his disciple about the dungeon. The disciple replied that Baibuqu and the others were keeping watch there.

Hongning’s mother combed her hair, reluctant to part with her. Hongning put on the wedding veil and bid farewell to her parents. Her father said that if Jinxiu ever mistreated her, she should come home—he wasn’t afraid of Jinxiu, no matter who he was. As Hongning stepped outside, Jinxiu was already waiting for her.
