Lu Jiu escorted Lu Yao out. Seeing that she was injured, he found some herbs for her. He asked why she had come to their place. Lu Yao said something had happened on her side—her family had been harmed, and she came looking for her younger brother. Lu Jiu said he could help her. He had lost his family when he was young and didn’t want others to experience the same life of drifting and hardship.

After waking up, the black serpent ran off. Ningmeng Jing was upset, feeling that after taking care of him for so long, he left without saying a word. Hongning and Ningmeng Jing came to check on Bai Cha. Hongning had something to do and left first. Bai Cha remarked that Ningmeng Jing could just watch Hongning and Jinxiu be together. Ningmeng Jing said she was Hongning’s friend—as long as Hongning was happy, that was enough.

Bai Cha said they had all been deceived by Jinxiu. Jinxiu appeared righteous, but he captured demons just to eliminate them. The demons he kept in the dungeon were all for him to exploit. He had been using Hongning all along. Bai Cha said he only wanted to protect her. Ningmeng Jing thought Jinxiu had forgotten everything. Bai Cha replied that Jinxiu had never forgotten. Did deities like him and demons like them really follow the same rules?

Ningmeng Jing was very worried. Bai Cha read some books and said that in ancient times there was a two-headed serpent, one with black scales and one with green. If she remembered, she would know he was telling the truth.

Jinxiu came to Hongning and said they did have a romantic bond in their past life. He was indeed the deity she met as a child. He hadn’t dared to tell her, fearing she would remember the past. He left the decision to her and asked if she wanted to recall everything. Hongning said she needed time to think. Then she drank the spring water and remembered the past.

She came to Jinxiu and said the time of falling blossoms was near—Jinxiu had said he would marry her. Jinxiu was overwhelmed, and the two embraced deeply. Lu Yao and Lu Jiu reached the area near the Northern Immortal Realm. Celestial soldiers approached them. Lu Yao used Samadhi True Fire. Lu Jiu realized Lu Yao was the Heavenly Maiden and asked why she had lied to him.

Lu Yao said what happened before was their fault, and she asked Lu Jiu to come back with her. She would find a way to make it up to him. Lu Jiu refused, saying he had no sister. When they were children, Lu Yao wanted to visit Lu Jiu, but others disapproved, saying the King didn’t acknowledge that son. If Lu Yao went, they would all be punished. So she couldn’t go. Lu Jiu left.

Hongning still chose to be with Jinxiu. Bai Cha was furious when he found out, saying that Jinxiu had clearly deceived her. Hongning replied that Jinxiu had done a lot afterward—Bai Cha didn’t know what happened later. Bai Cha said he liked Hongning. Hongning said love should be mutual—what Bai Cha liked was only the version of her in his imagination.
