Love Like White Jade Episode 15 Recap
> Love Like White Jade Recap
Old Madam Jiang joyfully announced that Shui Wuxia and Jiang Baiyu were to be married in three days, presenting a lavish array of betrothal gifts from the Jiang Mansion. Both Shui Wuxia and Jiang Baiyu were utterly astonished, with Jiang Baiyu asking, "Who's getting married?" When Old Madam Jiang revealed it was them, they were speechless, prompting Old Madam Jiang to assume they were overwhelmed with happiness.
Shui Wuxia quickly protested, stating that she and Jiang Baiyu had no romantic feelings for each other and therefore could not marry. Old Madam Jiang reassured her, telling her not to worry about her future development or Hai Tang, as she had already spoken to them.
Shui Wuxia insisted that she would not dare to aspire to someone like Young Master Jiang and had no improper thoughts, but Old Madam Jiang dismissed her claims as shyness, citing their intimate interactions within the mansion as evidence of their hidden affection. She proudly declared that she had their horoscopes matched, confirming them as a destined union, and set the wedding date for three days later, emphasizing her firm belief in destiny and divination.
Meanwhile, Jiang Tianling was deeply saddened by the news of Shui Wuxia and Jiang Baiyu's impending marriage. He retreated to his room, unable to comprehend why Shui Wuxia would choose Jiang Baiyu. A gift he intended to give her fell from his hand, unnoticed. Shui Wuxia initially thought of simply telling Old Madam Jiang that she and Jiang Baiyu were incompatible.
However, Jiang Baiyu, disguised as Shen Qingli, knowing Old Madam Jiang's deep belief in fate, proposed a more elaborate scheme: they should manipulate fate to make her believe that their union was ill-fated. Shui Wuxia eagerly agreed to this strategy and sought Jiang Baiyu's further guidance. Old Madam Jiang was initially ecstatic about the upcoming marriage, praising Shui Wuxia as a lovely addition to the family and a perfect match for Jiang Baiyu.
However, her joyful mood quickly soured when a servant reported a flock of crows cawing incessantly in the garden, a known bad omen. Shortly after, another servant delivered even more unsettling news: all the goldfish in the pond had suddenly died without any discernible cause. Old Madam Jiang grew increasingly worried, interpreting these bizarre occurrences as clear signs of impending misfortune.
Convinced that these events were linked to the wedding, she hurried to the Buddha Hall to pray for a good omen for the couple. As Old Madam Jiang prayed, Jiang Baiyu and Shui Wuxia continued their scheme. Shui Wuxia felt a pang of guilt for deceiving Old Madam Jiang, who had always been kind to them, but Jiang Baiyu urged her to continue, offering to take all the blame if necessary.
He then proposed escalating their efforts by having lightning strike the Buddha Hall. Following his plan, they carefully installed a high-purity copper wire on the roof of the Buddha Hall to attract lightning. Soon enough, thunder boomed, and lightning struck the altar. Old Madam Jiang rushed back to the scene, while Jiang Baiyu and Shui Wuxia also arrived, feigning ignorance.
Concerned by Jiang Baiyu's apparent madness, Old Madam Jiang summoned a Great Master, who diagnosed him as being possessed by an evil spirit. Jiang Baiyu was tied to his bed, appearing to be suffering from heat. After everyone else left, Shui Wuxia stayed to fan him, and they quietly chatted about their plan. When Old Madam Jiang and the Great Master returned, Jiang Baiyu was still "delusional."
Seeing her grandson's worsening condition, Jiang Baiyu (still acting) pretended to mistake Old Madam Jiang for Shui Wuxia. Shui Wuxia seized the opportunity, claiming that her family had told her that a meteor seemed to have fallen on the day she was born. She suggested that this meteor might have secretly altered her fate, making her inherently incompatible with Jiang Baiyu.
She proposed that this "changed fate" was the true cause of all the strange occurrences, and offered to cancel the engagement if it would save Jiang Baiyu. Heartbroken but desperate, Old Madam Jiang reluctantly agreed to dissolve the betrothal. Shortly after the agreement to dissolve the betrothal, Jiang Baiyu miraculously "recovered," much to Old Madam Jiang's overwhelming relief and joy.
