Love in the Clouds Episode 32 Recap
> Love in the Clouds Recap
Ming Yi and her father, She Tianlin, found themselves trapped within the Tumi Pagoda Gaol, an artifact Ming Yi herself had forged. Ming Yi confronted the Emperor of Yaoguang, questioning his hypocrisy for once claiming he would destroy the artifact which he said Yaoguang Mountain despised, only to now use it to imprison her.
The Emperor asserted that some artifacts were necessary to protect Yaoguang Mountain and that all his actions were for the realm's benefit, reiterating that Ming Yi, as the creator of the artifact, would know there was no escape. Ming Yi pleaded for her father's release, offering to bear all responsibility herself, but the Emperor remained unmoved.
At that critical moment, Ji Bozai entered the Tumi Pagoda Gaol, despite Buxiu's earlier warning not to force open the Spirit Well before his spiritual power was fully restored, as it risked a relapse of Heavenly Grief. Ji Bozai used the Spirit Well to free Ming Yi and She Tianlin. Seeing She Tianlin unconscious but unharmed, Ming Yi felt relieved and expressed gratitude to Ji Bozai.
He, however, dismissed it as a simple favor, considering their actions in stopping Ming Xin's conferment as having helped him reclaim what was rightfully his, thus settling any debts between them. Ming Yi felt remorseful, acknowledging her inability to compensate him for past wrongs. She understood he didn't resent her, but his presence served as a painful reminder of the bitter irony of her past.
She confessed to having enjoyed a life that should have been his, admitting he suffered because of her, and offered to do anything to alleviate his pain. Ji Bozai, however, told her the best thing she could do for him was to leave Yaoguang Mountain forever, disappear from his sight, and live a peaceful life elsewhere. He then took her to Mengyuan Pond, where he personally destroyed their names carved on the Marriage Stone, severing their heart imprint.
Ming Yi watched his retreating figure, heartbroken. Upon his return, Ji Bozai suffered a severe relapse of Heavenly Grief. Buxiu quickly administered spiritual energy to stabilize him, warning that his condition would lead to ruptured spiritual veins and sudden death, leaving no time for the Grief Blossom petals to slowly wilt.
Ji Bozai then revealed that he had deliberately destroyed the heart imprint to prevent Ming Yi from seeing a newly regenerated portrait of Bo Yulan, which had appeared after the original burned. He made Buxiu promise to keep this secret from Ming Yi, and Buxiu, with tears in his eyes, agreed. Ming Yi returned to Jixing Abyss, subdued and silent, her low spirits apparent to Chen Xi and others.
Tianji, unable to contain her concern, directly asked Ming Yi if Ji Bozai had truly joined Yaoguang Mountain. Ming Yi, who had previously been known as Ming Xian, candidly revealed the truth of her lineage, explaining that her birth mother, Bo Yucen, was a descendant of the Bo clan from Zhangwei Mountain, making her half Jixing Abyssian by blood.
As for Ji Bozai's decision to remain in Yaoguang Mountain, she speculated that his intention was to unite the strengths of both Yaoguang Mountain and Jixing Abyss to collectively defend against Zhushui Spiritual State, though he had reasons for keeping his full plan undisclosed. Meanwhile, Ji Bozai directly confronted the Emperor of Yaoguang, refusing to engage in any pretense of father-son affection.
He reminded the Emperor that he had discarded Ming Yi (as Ming Xian) after a single loss in the Qingyun Tournament, emphasizing that he, a newly returned son, would certainly not be treated any better. He stated his purpose was to negotiate. The Emperor, acknowledging his past failures with previous crown princes, recognized Ji Bozai's shrewdness, valuing an individual who could strengthen Yaoguang Mountain.
He clarified his need for a warrior to win the Qingyun Tournament and a respected crown prince to lead. Ji Bozai then laid out three conditions for accepting the position of crown prince: first, he demanded personal command of all warriors, with every warrior obeying his orders; second, the Empress, Jing Shu, must be kept alive; and third, the Emperor must cease all investigations and pursuits related to Jixing Abyss's past events and personnel.
The Emperor, realizing Ji Bozai's true intention was to protect Ming Yi, agreed to all conditions, as the Qingyun Tournament was his utmost priority. Soon after, the Emperor of Yaoguang issued a decree to all six realms, stripping Ming Xin (Lord Chengyun) of his titles and officially naming Ji Bozai as the crown prince. This proclamation sent ripples of unrest throughout Jixing Abyss, leading numerous officials to petition Tianji to condemn and execute Ji Bozai.
Although Tianji understood Ji Bozai's complex motivations, the widespread fear among her people compelled her to issue an edict removing Ji Bozai's name from Shouhua Academy's records. Subsequently, proclamations denouncing Ji Bozai and his portraits were plastered across Jixing Abyss. Ming Yi, however, personally walked through every street and alley, taking down each one. Ji Bozai visited Ming Yi's former dwelling, reflecting on their shared memories.
Buxiu, sensing Ji Bozai's deep longing for Ming Yi, calculated that Twenty-Seven should soon return and would keep Ming Yi company. Just as Buxiu predicted, Twenty-Seven's bell resonated, and the cat, with its primordial spirit fully restored, reappeared, bringing Ming Yi to tears of joy. Twenty-Seven revealed that he had been in the bell all along and heard everything. Ming Yi reassured him that Ji Bozai would never betray Jixing Abyss or ally with Yaoguang Mountain.
The next morning, Ming Yi visited Granny Xun with some pastries. Granny Xun confirmed that She Tianlin was recuperating in Wugui Sea. She also mentioned receiving a message from Ji Bozai stating he had his own plans and urged her not to worry, but Granny Xun worried nonetheless, knowing Ji Bozai's tendency to conceal burdens. Ming Yi explained that Tianji, as Empress, had to prioritize stability in Jixing Abyss and would have made similar pragmatic decisions in Ji Bozai's shoes.
She firmly believed Ji Bozai's actions were part of a larger plan to expose the Emperor of Zhushui and bring peace to the Six Realms, affirming her unwavering trust in his resolve. Relieved, Granny Xun pledged to safeguard Wugui Sea for them. The Qingyun Tournament required a minimum of four warriors per realm. With Ji Bozai now representing a rival realm, Jixing Abyss was short on participants to scout the tournament arena.
Tianji announced that Ming Yi would join the team, alongside Yan Xiao, Meng Yangqiu, and Chen Xi, as Shouhua Academy's forger to explore the venue, ensuring their eligibility. She assured them that she would manage any dissenting opinions from other immortals. On the eve of their departure, the group gathered for a celebratory barbecue. Yan Xiao diligently practiced, with Tianji by his side offering a healing ointment. Meng Yangqiu, though still harboring feelings for Tianji, silently wished her happiness.
Ming Yi observed the camaraderie, contrasting it with the backstabbing politics of Yaoguang Mountain, confirming that Jixing Abyss was where she truly belonged. When the various realm warriors convened at Zhuojin Tower, Yaoguang Mountain's team disparaged Jixing Abyss for having a female Empress and a female warrior (Ming Yi), implying their imminent defeat. Ming Yi retorted sharply, silencing them. Ji Bozai then arrived with the Yaoguang team, acknowledging Ming Yi as a formidable opponent.
Suddenly, Ming Xin, using a spell, abducted Ming Yi and spirited her away to the Dragon Carp Terrace secret chamber. Ming Yi, familiar with the chamber, taunted Ming Xin, remarking that the Ultimate Punishment had clearly failed to cure his foolishness. Ming Xin then revealed he was holding Situ Ling captive and threatened his life, showing Ming Yi a hairpin as proof that Situ Ling had once sacrificed his heart's blood to save her.
Ming Yi threatened to kill Ming Xin and then rescue Situ Ling, but Situ Ling, from his captivity, urged Ming Yi to flee and not worry about him. Ming Xin pressed his advantage, threatening to suffocate Situ Ling instantly with a mere flick of his finger. Ming Yi, seeking to buy time, asked what Ming Xin wanted, preparing to drop her weapon. Situ Ling vehemently warned her not to.
Ji Bozai then appeared, condemning Ming Xin for demanding Ming Yi to kneel. Ji Bozai reproached Ming Xin, pointing out that he still wielded Yaoguang spiritual energy, indicating an underlying desire to be a Yaoguang warrior, and called his alliance with the Emperor of Zhushui shameful.
He reminded Ming Xin of his mentorship, where he had genuinely treated Ming Xin as a brother and taught him everything without reservation, lamenting that Ming Xin had forgotten the spirit of a true warrior. Enraged, Ming Xin lashed out at Ji Bozai—the man he had known as Ming Xian—accusing him of always overshadowing him. Despite his own tenfold efforts, Ming Xin lamented, the Emperor had never noticed him.
He then turned his fury on Ming Yi, scornfully calling her a "mongrel" and an "outsider" who had no right to eclipse him. Ming Xin then declared his intention to break Ming Yi's knees so she could never stand before him again. As Ming Xin lunged at Ming Yi, Situ Ling used the opportunity to stab Ming Xin in the chest with the hairpin.
However, Ji Bozai exposed Situ Ling's treachery, revealing that he had colluded with Ming Xin to learn the illusory assassination art from Zhushui Spiritual State, a dark magic that required at least ten human lives to master, proving Situ Ling's willingness to harm innocents. Ming Yi, deeply disappointed by Situ Ling's moral decline, questioned if he had abandoned his true self to become "Chao Yuan" and whether he truly no longer trusted her.
Situ Ling claimed his actions were solely to protect Ming Yi and questioned why she trusted Ji Bozai over him. Ming Yi responded that even if he was no longer the Situ Ling she knew, she would still do everything in her power to stop "Chao Yuan," just as Situ Ling had once risked everything to save her. She implored him to turn back and not become like his father. Situ Ling, however, stated it was too late. Ji Bozai then quickly led Ming Yi and the injured Ming Xin away from the scene.
