Realizing she must have mistakenly swapped USBs with Mo Lingze during an earlier encounter, she was about to call him when he appeared, stating he was there to retrieve his own items.
He handed her the correct USB, but informed her that due to the large printing volume, it would take until 8 AM the next day. Despite her insistence on waiting at the factory, Mo Lingze offered to drive her home, an offer she politely declined. Mo Lingze then departed. She pointed out that he meticulously planned his life and never made temporary client appointments, concluding that he was avoiding a difficult conversation. She felt their marriage was merely a pre-planned event in his life, something he would execute regardless of her feelings, and that he refused to deviate from his schedule.
Fan Yunxi, having worked hard to regain Xu Qingyou's trust after a past infidelity, tried to express his love and desire for her to become his wife sooner. However, Xu Qingyou countered that if his love was genuine, he would respect her feelings. Unable to resolve the conflict, Fan Yunxi again cited his "business" and suggested they talk another day. Heartbroken, Xu Qingyou left the restaurant.
Mo Lingze, too, spent the night consumed by sadness, troubled by the news of the ring and Xu Qingyou's impending marriage, a prospect he found unbearable. He inwardly questioned why she was forcing herself into a situation that wouldn't end well, likening it to a "death penalty becoming a reprieve."
The next day, as Mo Lingze conducted an inspection at a cultural park, he saw Xu Qingyou in the rain, struggling with boxes that spilled onto the ground when she tried to answer a phone call.
