Her friends, having lost the wager, quickly transferred money to her. Suddenly, Mo Lingze received an urgent message from Wang Ji and had to leave.
Although Xu Qingyou’s proposal was merely a test, his abrupt departure left her feeling disheartened. After he left, she quietly excused herself. Upon returning home, she found a package from her mother containing chicken soup, specifically for Mo Lingze. This made Xu Qingyou feel a pang of jealousy, realizing her family seemed to care more about him than her.
Meanwhile, Wang Ji, believing Mo Lingze was in dire financial straits, offered to contribute a large portion of his life savings to help him overcome his difficulties, though Mo Lingze assured him it wasn't necessary yet. He admitted to using contractual loopholes to harm Shangger and acknowledged that Mo Lingze had actually interceded on his behalf, preventing Shangger from suing him.
