News is reporting on gene-related crimes, drawing serious attention from the police. According to the investigation, the Guo Fieling case occurred sixteen years ago, but similar cases are linked to cross-regional human trafficking. The detective in charge of this case suspects that the case is organized and premeditated. They believe Su Ruowan is key to the investigation, but she has been unwilling to answer questions.

Director Du asked them to assist the Fourth Division in handling the case, linking the missing person cases with the Lianhua Mountain case. However, Luo Weizhao believes that the connection between the two cases is not yet certain and that there is no substantial evidence. Director Du introduced Pei Su to them, saying that he was a student of old Pan and a new intern in criminal psychology. Luo Weizhao was surprised when he met him; they knew each other.

Pei Su questioned Su Ruowan, using a seemingly indifferent approach to provoke her. Luo Weizhao and Tao Ze watched through a one-way mirror. Pei Su obtained a clue and told Luo Weizhao where Su Lingnai's ashes were kept. After comparison, Tao Ze and others finally found Xu Dongyu's house. Luo Weizhao interrogated Xu Dongyu, suspecting that he was also a Apaths. He felt that Su Lingnai had betrayed his sincerity. Luo Weizhao questioned him, using other evidence to speculate, forcing Xu Dongyu to recognize the despicable things he had done. He knew that Xu Dongyu was interested in Su Ruowan because Su Ruowan looked a lot like Su Lingnai when she was young. Xu Dongyu's heart was filled with fear, and he couldn't face this reality.
