> Justice In the Dark Recap
News is reporting on gene-related crimes, drawing serious attention from the police. According to the investigation, the Guo Fieling case occurred sixteen years ago, but similar cases are linked to cross-regional human trafficking. The detective in charge of this case suspects that the case is organized and premeditated. They believe Su Ruowan is key to the investigation, but she has been unwilling to answer questions.
Director Du asked them to assist the Fourth Division in handling the case, linking the missing person cases with the Lianhua Mountain case. However, Luo Weizhao believes that the connection between the two cases is not yet certain and that there is no substantial evidence. Director Du introduced Pei Su to them, saying that he was a student of old Pan and a new intern in criminal psychology. Luo Weizhao was surprised when he met him; they knew each other.
Pei Su questioned Su Ruowan, using a seemingly indifferent approach to provoke her. Luo Weizhao and Tao Ze watched through a one-way mirror. Pei Su obtained a clue and told Luo Weizhao where Su Lingnai's ashes were kept. Luo Weizhao was dismissive, mocking that he had ulterior motives for getting into the University of Political Science and Law, and warned him not to act rashly. The two went to Fuyuan Hall, and a staff member handed them Su Lingnai's ashes.
Luo Weizhao put on white gloves and opened the urn, but found nothing in the keepsake compartment. Pei Su mocked him for giving up too easily, suggesting that he should open the urn itself. Although Luo Weizhao was reluctant, he reluctantly opened the urn. After calming himself, he felt a pink notebook in the ashes. After the two finished reading the diary, Su Lingnai mentioned her mother, Sophie.
Pei Su suspected that after they kidnapped the missing girls, they used two methods to deal with them. He thought the Su family's empathy gene was terrible, but he also felt sorry for Su Ruowan. Luo Weizhao believed that genes were not the source of evil, and that good and evil were entirely up to the individual. The two mentioned the disposal of the murdered bodies.
Pei Su considered dismemberment, but Luo Weizhao believed that the Su family mother and daughter were not capable of doing so. This speculation reminded Pei Su of a past wound. Su Lingnai first mentioned the floral dress in her diary, which was also the beginning of her paranoia. She also mentioned Wu Guangchang.
Su Lingnai once saw Wu Guangchang as a knight, but eventually realized that he was just like other men, and Su Lingnai's personality became more and more violent. At the end of the diary, there were several photos, including photos of Su Lingnai and Wu Guangchang. Luo Weizhao knew that the photos were taken by Xu Dongyu, but there was no evidence to prove it.
He called Tao Ze and asked him to investigate the situation, suspecting that Xu Dongyu's room could be used for filming and might be the scene of previous crimes. Pei Su stared at the photos in a daze. The faces in the photos looked familiar to him. After careful recollection, he realized they were people from the club. Luo Weizhao also remembered that when the missing person case occurred, they didn't suspect the helpers.
Tao Ze asked Uncle Guo to recall and think about Xu Dongyu's situation. Uncle Guo recalled the details, saying that Xu Dongyu took him on a shortcut, and they happened to see Wu Guangchang pulling Su Lingnai. He thought Su Lingnai was in danger, so he went up and killed Wu Guangchang directly. Based on his memory, Uncle Guo drew a map of the area at the time. The police began to arrest people, intending to find Xu Dongyu.
After comparison, Tao Ze and others finally found Xu Dongyu's house. Luo Weizhao interrogated Xu Dongyu, suspecting that he was also a Apaths. Xu Dongyu emphasized that he was Su Lingnai's fiancé, but Luo Weizhao believed that he had impure motives and coveted Su Lingnai's daughter. Xu Dongyu was speechless because there was relevant evidence in the room.
Luo Weizhao determined that Xu Dongyu was involved in the case, and Xu Dongyu had no choice but to tell the story of that year. Back then, Su Lingnai was a transfer student and in the same class as Xu Dongyu. Xu Dongyu was fascinated by her and wanted to approach her but was rejected.
In order to see Su Lingnai more, Xu Dongyu moved across the street from her house and accidentally saw her having a relationship with Wu Guangchang. Afterwards, Xu Dongyu saw Su Lingnai bringing girls home and suspected that Wu Guangchang was not only involved with her. He ran into Su Lingnai cutting up a floral dress under the pretext of delivering homework. Su Lingnai begged Xu Dongyu to keep it a secret, and that's how the later things happened.
He felt that Su Lingnai had betrayed his sincerity. Luo Weizhao questioned him, using other evidence to speculate, forcing Xu Dongyu to recognize the despicable things he had done. He knew that Xu Dongyu was interested in Su Ruowan because Su Ruowan looked a lot like Su Lingnai when she was young. Xu Dongyu's heart was filled with fear, and he couldn't face this reality.
