Xu Nuo helped Zhao Jin's sister to the restroom. Zhao Jin's sister still didn't believe Xu Nuo wasn't Zhao Jin's girlfriend, observing that Xu Nuo's eyes were like her brother's when he looked at her. Xu Nuo asked if her brother had said something, but the sister denied it. Zhao Jin meticulously cared for Grandma, who praised him for being thoughtful. When asked about his profession, Zhao Jin replied, "I am a vet."
He then admitted to Grandma that he was divorced. Grandma surprisingly said it was "not bad," explaining that "only when you lose it will you cherish it more in the future. It's a good thing." Zhao Jin agreed with this sentiment. As snow began to fall outside, both Grandma and Zhao Jin's sister fell asleep. Zhao Jin then suggested to Xu Nuo that they go out for a walk.
Peng Yuan woke up on Cong Shan's sofa, tumbling onto the floor as he got up, which made Cong Shan laugh. Cong Shan reminded him that he had drunk with her father the previous night and, in front of her father, promised to break up with Xu Nuo and start a relationship with her. Peng Yuan dismissed this as drunken talk, but Cong Shan noted her father believed it.
Peng Yuan was honest, stating he couldn't make any promises, to which Cong Shan replied she would wait, but her patience had limits. Peng Yuan acknowledged her statement. Later, at the boxing gym, Peng Yuan was sparring intensely with Da Hao, who noticed Peng Yuan seemed preoccupied. Peng Yuan deflected, asking about Zhao Jin's divorce. Da Hao explained that Zhao Jin's ex-wife had run away, which made Peng Yuan sympathetic, vowing to be nicer to Zhao Jin.
Da Hao also mentioned Zhao Jin's sister was hospitalized and wouldn't be at the gym for a while, but assured Peng Yuan that Zhao Jin was doing well and not to worry too much. Da Hao also suggested that if girls want to get married, they should look for someone like Peng Yuan.
Shi Ran visited Momo at the pet hospital and discovered that Xu Nuo and Zhao Jin already knew each other, as they were in Momo's owner group chat. Angered by this, Shi Ran went to confront Xu Nuo. While Xu Nuo and Shi Ran were talking, Xu Nuo received a call from her mother, who informed her that Grandma insisted on having surgery, and Xu Nuo needed to be present.
Xu Nuo expressed concern about the risks given Grandma's age, but her mother said Grandma was adamant about getting better quickly to avoid burdening them. Her mother also mentioned that Peng Yuan had been calling Xu Nuo all night and urged her to call him back. Xu Nuo politely ended the call, stating she had work. Zhao Jin visited his sister, Xiao Qin, at the hospital to deliver food.
Xiao Qin asked about Xu Nuo, directly asking if Zhao Jin liked her. He told her not to guess, then gently informed her that due to her weak immunity, she couldn't keep cats anymore. Xiao Qin inferred that her condition must be worsening. Meanwhile, Grandma reiterated her desire for surgery, believing it would lead to a quicker recovery and less burden on Xu Nuo and her mother. However, Xu Nuo's mother worried about the high risks given Grandma's age.
Separately, Xiao Qin's test results came back, prompting the doctor to suggest considering a bone marrow transplant. Zhao Jin returned to the pet hospital and informed his assistant he'd be back at work the next day. He specifically went to see Momo. Learning that Momo's owner had visited, he instructed the assistant to arrange for Momo's discharge.
Meanwhile, Xu Nuo and Shi Ran were discussing flowers for an event when Shi Ran received a call from the pet hospital, confirming Momo could be picked up. As Shi Ran had a business trip to Hainan, she asked the pet hospital to send the cat to Xu Nuo's home, which Xu Nuo reluctantly agreed to. The assistant later gave Zhao Jin the delivery address, asking him to deliver the cat at 9 PM.
Shi Ran then asked Xu Nuo if Peng Yuan had explained his situation with his female co-partner, referring to Cong Shan. Xu Nuo calmly stated she didn't want to hear explanations, saying, "He said she's just a co-partner. I'll consider her his co-partner. I don't want to ask anymore." Shi Ran found Xu Nuo's indifference unusual, but Xu Nuo claimed to feel "quite relaxed now," adding that if Peng Yuan "really did something wrong, I can force myself too."
Shi Ran observed their relationship seemed stagnant, predicting a breakup. As they were talking, Peng Yuan arrived to find Xu Nuo. During dinner, Peng Yuan asked why Xu Nuo hadn't answered his calls or replied to his messages. He apologized for not taking her to the hospital that day, explaining his father had insisted he accompany Cong Shan's father for drinks to discuss business introductions, which he felt he couldn't control as he was just starting his own business.
Xu Nuo cut him off, telling him to just eat. Xu Nuo reflected on how she and Peng Yuan started dating. They shared a birthday, and both her Grandma and mother hoped they would get together. Peng Yuan then confirmed to them that he and Xu Nuo were already dating. He had once promised to be responsible for her, and she had waited for him for two years.
As Peng Yuan dropped Xu Nuo off, he reminded her to take her high heels from the car, but Xu Nuo glanced at them and said, "Not mine." Shortly after, Cong Shan called Peng Yuan, informing him that the investor had canceled their appointment and she was flying to Shanghai that night for a meeting.
She then asked if she had left her "lucky shoes" in his car and asked him to bring them to her, confirming they were the high heels Xu Nuo had seen. Peng Yuan agreed. Xu Nuo presented the preliminary scene for the "Ten-Year Promise" event to Ms. Wang. The setup featured pink cherry blossoms and artificial snow creating a romantic atmosphere. Ms. Wang was very pleased. Zhao Jin, noticing the time, rushed to deliver Momo to Xu Nuo.
Xu Nuo saw his WeChat message saying he had just finished work and was going home, causing her to feel a mixture of anticipation and inner conflict about his impending arrival with Momo. When the doorbell rang, Xu Nuo eagerly opened the door, only to find Peng Yuan there, her face clearly showing disappointment.
Peng Yuan explained that his evening appointment was canceled, so he went to the hospital to get Grandma a private room and a nursing assistant, for which Xu Nuo thanked him. Peng Yuan then took out a ring, intending to make a commitment. Peng Yuan expressed his hope that the ring would give Xu Nuo a sense of security and asked for more time, saying they had been together so long, it was time he made a promise.
Xu Nuo, however, stated that if it was only for security, she didn't need it. At that moment, the doorbell rang again. Peng Yuan answered, finding Zhao Jin there to deliver Momo. Peng Yuan didn't seem to think much of it, but both Xu Nuo and Zhao Jin shared a lingering feeling. Peng Yuan also commented that Zhao Jin seemed quite pitiful, which Zhao Jin confirmed was due to his sister's illness, but assured Peng Yuan she was fine.
After Zhao Jin left, Peng Yuan noticed Xu Nuo seemed agitated. Their conversation quickly became unproductive. Peng Yuan angrily asked, "What's wrong with me?" She replied, "I'm very irritable because I don't know what the hell I'm doing now." When he asked if she didn't want to get married or didn't want to marry "him", Xu Nuo simply said, "We've been together for so many years. Although nothing changes on the surface, it's indeed not the same as before."
He asked what was different, and she turned the question back to him. Peng Yuan, feeling frustrated, drove away. Zhao Jin, however, remained outside Xu Nuo's apartment building, waiting. He then called Xu Nuo, telling her it was snowing and inviting her to go for a walk, adding, "I don't want to be just friends with you." Xu Nuo didn't agree. Xu Nuo then went to the hospital to visit Grandma.
Grandma told her that "your doctor friend" (referring to Zhao Jin) had been bringing her meals, and urged Xu Nuo to visit his sister, Xiao Qin, and thank him. Xu Nuo's mother was surprised, not knowing about this "doctor friend." Grandma clarified that the young man who helped them at the hospital had been cooking. Xu Nuo then decided to visit Xiao Qin in room 235, bringing her flowers.
Xiao Qin gratefully accepted the flowers and asked, "Sister, are you worried about my illness?" Xu Nuo affirmed her concern. Xiao Qin then expressed her worry about being a burden to her brother, saying he had no life of his own because of her, and girls who liked him gave up due to her condition. Xu Nuo reassured her not to think that way, stressing that taking care of her health was most important. Xiao Qin then told Xu Nuo that she could see her brother liked Xu Nuo very much, and asked, "You also like him very much, right?"
