Heavy snow did not cease for several days. Since Di Renjie came out of the underground palace, he had remained in a coma. Cao An suspected Di Renjie was affected by the altar and suggested leaving the academy that night. Li Miao arranged for disciples to carry Di Renjie onto a carriage, and Cao An drove the carriage alone.

In his dream, Di Renjie saw Cao An leave, but when he woke up, he only saw Ma Rong and Qiao Tai, with no sign of Cao An, only a note with eight characters written on it: "The axle is broken, I'll go find someone. " Di Renjie felt something was wrong and suspected Cao An was in danger.

However, before Di Renjie could approach, he waved his hand, released a smoke screen, snatched Wei Xiaobao, and disappeared without a trace, leaving only his voice audible.

Ma Rong and Qiao Tai fought their way into the underground palace. They did not see Cao An when they arrived, but found an old man's body in the tung oil jar in the study. At this point, another group of disciples blocked their path. Ma Rong and Qiao Tai were responsible for covering the rear, while Di Renjie rushed to the real altar and interrupted Li Miao's sacrifice ceremony.

Because of this, Li Miao became furious from shame and refused to reveal Cao An's whereabouts. Di Renjie's repeated questioning was futile. He then saw Li Miao poison himself. Before he died, he mocked Di Renjie, saying that even if he found Cao An, she would just be a corpse. Di Renjie realized that Cao An's life was in danger and was extremely anxious, but he tried hard to remain calm.

Through recollection and deduction, he figured out her location and finally found Cao An in a hole in a wall. Fortunately, Ma Rong and Qiao Tai arrived in time. The three of them worked together to chisel open the wall and rescue Cao An, who had been semi-conscious but gradually regained clarity. Through Cao An's narration, the mystery of the case was finally cleared up.

In fact, from the moment she picked up the small wooden sword, Cao An had a faint answer in her heart. Later, when she discovered Wei Xiaobao in a corner, she realized why Zhou Li had died. A year ago, Li Miao killed Cui Haoran, took over his place, and continued to recruit disciples under the name of the academy. In Li Miao's eyes, these disciples were all sacrifices.

Finally, he used a snowball to hit the door to distract Cao An, and Wei Xiaobao took this opportunity to slip into the room. Zhou Li originally wanted to reveal the truth by sacrificing himself, but unfortunately, the clues were hidden by Li Miao.

Wei Xiaobao had no choice but to throw the sandalwood at the door to attract attention. Cao An sensed that Li Miao had become suspicious of her and had to pretend to go along with him, feigning fear of the deceased spirits. She made an excuse to escape by carriage that night, arranging to meet Wei Xiaobao at the foot of the mountain.

Unexpectedly, Li Miao had already seen through the plan, not only capturing Wei Xiaobao but also tying her up in a hole in the wall and plastering the wall with mud. As time passed, the air grew thin, and death approached. Cao An was not afraid of death; her only concern was for Di Renjie to be safe. Di Renjie was deeply moved by Cao An's words and carried her out of the underground palace.

Wei Xiaobao reunited with his grandma and gave Di Renjie the wooden sword as a gift to express his gratitude. After this event, Di Renjie completely let go of his inner knot. He personally put the earrings on Cao An, and the two embraced tightly, cherishing this moment of survival after the ordeal.
