In Blossom Episode 6 Recap
> In Blossom Recap
Yang Caiwei saw her own corpse preserved in a crystal ice coffin. While lamenting the death of Shangguan Zhi, who had died for her, she deftly took out tools for autopsy. After examining the body without finding any wounds, she finally discovered a small injury on the scalp and then pulled a silver needle from her brain. Yang Caiwei suspected that it might have been Pan Yue who killed her on their wedding night.
At that moment, Pan Yue returned, and Yang Caiwei quickly put her things away. Pan Yue had come to wait in ambush, but unexpectedly encountered her instead. Yang Caiwei claimed she was there to help investigate the case. Despite Pan Yue repeatedly insisting her death was an accident, Yang Caiwei believed that if it had truly been an accident, he wouldn’t have falsely accused her, suggesting there must be a hidden truth behind it.
She didn’t reveal her findings to Pan Yue and secretly wondered why he went to such lengths to preserve her body. The princess sent a message to correspond with Pan Yue, which made Yang Caiwei increasingly displeased with him. She paid out of her own pocket to treat everyone to a meal, but her real intention was to gather clues about the gold needle murder. Yang Caiwei heard about a goldsmith’s shop and dressed splendidly to visit.
Ah Jiang woke up to find an orchid knot tied to his arm, identical to Yang Caiwei’s, and immediately went looking for someone. Yang Caiwei went to the gold shop to look for clues, but Pan Yue quietly followed. She had to pretend to be picking out jewelry. Pan Yue picked up a unique crabapple hairpin and pinned it in her hair, causing her to break out in a cold sweat.
Pan Yue knew she was here for leads on the golden hairpin, so she had to show the evidence. Yang Caiwei decided to investigate all the gold shops in Heyang and told Pan Yue to wait at the restaurant. Ah Jiang found the waiter from yesterday and asked who had brought him back. He learned it was a young lady from the capital.
Yang Caiwei issued a reward notice with a hefty sum, and soon gold shops brought their finest items before them. By chance, they learned of the best goldsmith in Heyang, Liu Lang, who had passed away just last month. Pan Yue and Yang Caiwei went to Liu Lang’s home, where only his visually impaired grandmother remained. Yang Caiwei helped fix a lamp Liu Lang left behind and asked about the day he died.
Liu Lang died the day before Pan Yue's wedding. The grandmother said he had taken a large sum of money and never returned after leaving. It was all too suspicious. Yang Caiwei and Pan Yue went to Liu Lang’s grave, but the grandmother seemed hostile toward Pan Yue. Pan Yue went to find a coroner, while Yang Caiwei comforted the grieving grandmother. She whispered to Yang Caiwei that Liu Lang’s new client had been to the house.
Although her eyes were poor, she clearly heard his voice—it was exactly like Pan Yue’s. Shocked, Yang Caiwei quickly dug up the grave to examine the body, but Pan Yue returned halfway through. Seeing the fear on her face, Pan Yue confronted her, and Yang Caiwei bluntly voiced her suspicion—she believed he was the murderer. But Pan Yue countered that if he were the killer, he would never have preserved her body.
He had brought a coroner from the capital, but the man had been poisoned upon arriving in Heyang. Opening Liu Lang’s grave and performing the autopsy, they found a large amount of silver in the body, suggesting he had been forced to swallow silver and died. Liu Lang had died with resentment and left a clue pointing to the killer—a gambling token from the Life and Death House.
Ah Jiang found Yang Caiwei, but wondered how a young lady from the capital could help him, and only Yang Caiwei would tie an orchid knot.
