In Blossom Episode 28 Recap
> In Blossom Recap
Bai Xiaosheng cooked a full table of dishes for Zhuo Lanjiang, even stewing a chicken for soup. She said she was confident she could win over his stomach. Zhuo Lanjiang asked why she liked him. Bai Xiaosheng replied that it was because he was handsome. Everyone said Pan Yue was good-looking, but to her, Zhuo Lanjiang was the best. Perhaps love really is blind. Zhuo Lanjiang smiled but felt troubled inside.
Since Bai Xiaosheng came, she had spent her days cooking and doing laundry, with no place she wanted to visit. Zhuo Lanjiang decided to take her out for a stroll. Bai Xiaosheng was initially uninterested, but hearing he’d accompany her all day, she quickly went to change. Bai Xiaosheng took a liking to a jade piece costing fifty taels but didn’t buy it due to the high price.
They walked to the Matchmaking Tree, which legend says ensures lovers will stay together if they hang name tags on it. Bai Xiaosheng shyly lowered her head. Seeing this, Zhuo Lanjiang offered to make a wish. They hung their name tags under the tree. Bai Xiaosheng silently wished not for eternal happiness but to be by Zhuo Lanjiang’s side no matter how rough his future path. But when she opened her eyes, Zhuo Lanjiang had already left without a word.
The Green Emperor was convinced that Master Zuo was the one who had hunted Yunshang and begged Pan Yue and Yang Caiwei to help no matter what. Bai Xiaosheng found them and said Zhuo Lanjiang had left again, and she was truly worried for his safety. Yang Caiwei smelled a fragrance in Bai Xiaosheng’s home that was identical to that of the mastermind. Bai Xiaosheng said it was purchased from a Jiang merchant.
Pan Yue and Yang Caiwei hurried to visit the shopkeeper and learned that the horned emblem was a Jiang symbol. It all began to make sense—our dynasty had long been at war with the Jiang clan, many of whom settled in Luoxi. The mastermind must be among them, using the horned cloud emblem to cultivate influence in court. Officials from Luoxi had no chance of promotion, so it was possible the mastermind had secretly changed their place of origin.
Pan Yue planned to have A Ze investigate first before taking further action. Lady Jia, the Princess's sister and wife of the Grand Commandant, was busy preparing for the Princess's wedding. Miss Sima came to complain, saying she saw Pan Yue and Yang Caiwei behaving intimately. But Lady Jia scolded her for gossiping. Zhuo Lanjiang was taken to meet the mastermind, claiming Pan Yue drove his father to death, making them sworn enemies.
Lady Jia hosted a banquet and invited Pan Yue. Though puzzled, he still went. The Princess said it had all happened suddenly and she had only just learned about it. The banquet was also a chance for Lady Jia to question Pan Yue and warn him to keep only the Princess in his heart. After the meal, the Grand Commandant took Pan Yue for a walk in the courtyard and gave advice on being a royal son-in-law.
Zhuo Lanjiang, hiding by the wall, suddenly attacked Pan Yue and fled. Upon hearing of the assassination attempt, Yang Caiwei was extremely anxious. Fortunately, Pan Yue was only slightly injured. Yang Caiwei, unable to rest easy, secretly went to the Commandant’s residence. A Ze delivered news that Pan Yue was safe, but getting her inside was still difficult. The Princess helped them reunite.
Pan Yue told Yang Caiwei that the attacker was Zhuo Lanjiang, but since he didn’t go for a fatal strike, he might be undercover beside the mastermind. Zhuo Lanjiang had joined the Shuibo Pattern organization. The place was heavily guarded, and Lord Chen was also hiding there. The mastermind had yet to fully trust Zhuo Lanjiang, who was waiting for the right moment to strike. Pan Yue found an excuse to leave after a few days at the Commandant’s residence.
