Ka Suo and Li Luo arrived in the Dream Tribe territory, finding all the tribespeople asleep in broad daylight. An awake tribesman explained that the Dream Tribe works at night, helping people in the three realms interpret and resolve dreams, thus requiring them to rest during the day. Ka Suo apologized for the disturbance, and the tribesman offered them a place to stay until nightfall when the city would awaken.
Meanwhile, Ka Suo had entrusted a Sole Bamboo Leaf to Ying Kong Shi, a choice he'd made because of Ying Kong Shi's poisoning, which only Yan Da could remedy. Ying Kong Shi confided in Ka Suo his plan to act as an informant while with Yan Da, using different tunes on the bamboo leaf to relay news about the Ice Crystals from the Bear, Dream, and Mermaid Tribes, helping Ka Suo stay one step ahead.
Ka Suo expressed concern about the danger, but Ying Kong Shi assured him he could handle it. Yan Da, still furious from her encounter with Shuo Gang, vented her frustrations during a rigorous training session. She declared her ambition to surpass her ten brothers and become the Fire Tribe's first Queen, refusing to be looked down upon. Ying Kong Shi, observing her intensity, recalled his own pain of being mocked by his siblings for lacking magic.
He confronted Yan Da, telling her she hated her own weakness and advised her to live for herself rather than seeking vengeance. He shared his past struggle with similar feelings, revealing he had also almost harmed those who made fun of him, but chose not to, showing her the Sole Bamboo Leaf as the reason. He explained that his brother taught him to play the leaf, understanding that even if others don't comprehend the music, someone, like a flute, will.
Yan Da was touched by his words, remarking on his strong bond with his brother. Despite her skepticism that his brother cared enough to find him while he was her slave, Ying Kong Shi asserted they would meet when the time was right. Ying Kong Shi later used the Sole Bamboo Leaf to secretly inform Ka Suo that Yan Da and her forces were headed to the Dream Tribe.
As night fell, the Dream Tribe awakened, bustling with life and activities, including a dream-seeking contest where participants battled in dreams. Grand Elder Xun Hao appeared, formally welcoming Prince Ka Suo and Li Luo, sensing their arrival through his dream-seeking abilities. Moments later, Yan Da and Ying Kong Shi also arrived. Yan Da aggressively demanded the Ice Crystal, threatening to turn the Dream Tribe into a battlefield.
Xun Hao agreed to surrender the crystal but only if they first rescued their Chief Dreamer, Xing Jiu, who alone knew its whereabouts. Xun Hao explained that Xing Jiu was willingly trapped in a dream, unable to accept the death of his younger sister, Princess Xing Gui. Xing Jiu, the tribe's strongest dream-seeker, had created a dream so powerful that it blocked all outside interference, making it impossible for ordinary dream-seekers to enter or for physical harm to wake him.
The only way to save him was to enter his dream and guide him back to reality, a task proving too dangerous for anyone in the Dream Tribe. Xun Hao offered a day for them to consider, promising the crystal to whoever succeeded. Meanwhile, Feng Tian Po Po infiltrated the City of Bladed Snow. She fought off Fire Tribe guards, confused about the Fire King's rule and the absence of the Ice King.
She discovered the prison where the Ice King and Queen were held, destroying the Fire King's Spiderweb of Fire seal, but found them gone. She then apprehended a Fire Tribe maid, demanding answers. Back at the Dream Tribe, Yan Da, distrusting Xun Hao after being tricked by the Healer Tribe's elder, ordered her soldiers to search the entire city for the crystal before considering entering Xing Jiu's dream. Ying Kong Shi offered to help with the search.
Ka Suo contacted Ying Kong Shi via the bamboo leaf, confirming Yan Da had not yet found the crystal and had only given him a 10-day antidote. Realizing they had no choice, Ka Suo decided they would enter Xing Jiu's dream. The next day, Ka Suo informed Xun Hao of his decision to enter alone, but Li Luo insisted on accompanying him, stating they came together and would leave together, despite Ka Suo's concerns about the dangers to a mortal.
Yan Da and Ying Kong Shi also arrived, ready to compete within the dream. Xun Hao led them to the Chief Dreamer's Dream Source, explaining its function and warning them of multiple dangerous dreamlands within. The four entered Xing Jiu's dream, but Ka Suo and Li Luo found themselves separated from Yan Da and Ying Kong Shi.
They discovered they were in a dream of Princess Xing Gui's 100th birthday, realizing that in Xing Jiu's dream, his deceased sister was still alive, representing his most cherished memories. They headed to the palace, where Xing Jiu was hosting the banquet. During the celebration, an assassin suddenly appeared, seeking revenge for his own sister whom Xing Jiu had failed to save, and fatally stabbed Xing Gui.
Xing Jiu's cries of anguish as his sister died caused the dream to shatter. Ka Suo and Li Luo found themselves back at the dream's starting point, realizing Xing Jiu's refusal to accept Xing Gui's death caused the dream to repeat, rewinding time to the moments before her murder. Ying Kong Shi deduced that Xing Jiu's repeated dream was fueled by guilt for being unable to save his sister.
Ka Suo speculated that Yan Da would try to prevent Xing Gui's death to break the loop. Unexpectedly, Ka Suo and Li Luo encountered Xing Gui on the street, who had snuck out of the palace. Ka Suo brought her back, where Xing Jiu affectionately chided her for her weakness but forgave her for her birthday. Ka Suo and Li Luo were invited to the banquet.
From a distance, Yan Da, annoyed that Ka Suo and Li Luo had better seating, chastised Ying Kong Shi for choosing a hidden spot. Ka Suo and Li Luo formulated a plan: after stopping the assassin, Li Luo would keep Yan Da and Ying Kong Shi busy while Ka Suo would bring Xing Gui to Xing Jiu to awaken him. The assassination attempt occurred again. Both Li Luo and Yan Da intervened, stopping the first assassin.
However, a second assassin emerged, and Li Luo bravely shielded Xing Gui, taking a blow meant for the princess. Despite Li Luo's sacrifice, Xing Gui was still fatally wounded, and Xing Jiu's dream shattered once more. Ka Suo reawakened in a desolate, snowy landscape, finding Xing Jiu cradling the lifeless Xing Gui. Ka Suo tried to persuade Xing Jiu to accept reality, reminding him of Xing Gui's birthday wish, unaware that he was still trapped within Xing Jiu's intricate dream.
Meanwhile, Li Luo truly awoke outside the dream, realizing she was the only one to have escaped. Xing Jiu appeared before her, explaining that her self-sacrifice to save Xing Gui was what allowed her to break free from his dream.
