Lan Shang awoke, and the Mermaid Saint anxiously asked what had happened. Lan Shang explained that she had not been ambushed but had fainted on her own. She then revealed that she had seen Ka Suo's wife, Li Luo, in the Mortal Realm, and the sight of Ka Suo and Li Luo looking very in love had deeply saddened her, causing her to faint.
The Saint chided Lan Shang, reminding her that she had already been warned and urged her to take better care of herself. Meanwhile, in the City of Bladed Snow, Li Luo gazed at her reflection in a mirror before instructing her attendant to help her change her clothes. The Mermaid Saint thanked Li Tianjin for returning Lan Shang, expressing curiosity about how a mortal knew Lan Shang was the mermaid princess, especially given his attire.
Li Tianjin, still masked, maintained his elusive persona, claiming to be a rogue god who coincidentally met the princess in the Mortal Realm. He explained he recognized her because she was widely known throughout the Three Realms for fighting for Ka Suo and defeating Queen Chao Ya in a singing contest. As Li Tianjin prepared to depart, a distinctive flute tune emanated from his person.
The Mermaid Saint recognized it as Ka Suo's melody and inquired about the Sole Bamboo Leaf flute. Li Tianjin explained that it was left by a friend, a god who had lost his memory and didn't even remember his own name. He expressed his own curiosity about the flute's significance, as they had only met once before the friend disappeared.
The Saint then revealed that Ka Suo used to play the same tune and had given an identical flute to his brother, Ying Kong Shi, before Ying Kong Shi went missing, taking the flute with him. Realizing the flute's true nature as a keepsake between Ka Suo and Ying Kong Shi, Li Tianjin understood its importance.
The Saint suggested he deliver the flute to the City of Bladed Snow, believing Ka Suo would be very interested in any information about Ying Kong Shi's disappearance. Li Tianjin affirmed that he would indeed go to the City of Bladed Snow. Ka Suo, feeling disheartened, played a Sole Bamboo Leaf flute, wondering if his brother, Ying Kong Shi, still had his own. Li Luo then appeared, dressed elegantly, and announced her intention to stay with him that night.
She proposed they treat it as their wedding day, especially since Ka Suo had helped her relive their past. Ka Suo, delighted, agreed. They shared a ceremonial drink, and Li Luo embraced him, initiating intimacy. However, despite their kisses, Li Luo exhibited clear resistance to his advances. Seeing her distress, Ka Suo, out of concern, gently used his magic to help her rest. As she drifted off, Li Luo instinctively grasped his hand, pleading, "Don't leave."
Ka Suo lay beside her, reassuring her tenderly, "No matter what happens, I won't leave you." The following morning, Li Luo awoke with a desire to touch Ka Suo, but her body once again recoiled, leaving her feeling helpless and frustrated by her persistent internal resistance. Disturbed by his recent experiences with Li Luo, Ka Suo sought out Grandma Feng Tian Po Po, who was picking flowers.
He confided in her, expressing his confusion that Li Luo seemed to want to draw close to him yet simultaneously resisted him, making him feel that they were drifting further apart despite their proximity. The elderly woman, not fully grasping the nuances of his sentiment, offered a flower and dispensed traditional advice: "When a girl is angry, you should pamper her and give her anything she wants.
If you think she's too far away, use a rope to tie her to your side. It can tie up a physical body, but not a heart. As long as you have the heart, you can become closer." An announcement was made across the City of Bladed Snow, informing the gods that Ka Suo would soon convene an alliance assembly to welcome new tribes from Divine Snow Mountain, inviting all clans to communicate peacefully.
The gathered crowds erupted in cheers for the prospect of this new era of peace. In Fire City, Li Tianjin sent a messenger owl back, arranging to meet the Fire King directly in the City of Bladed Snow. Upon receiving this news, the Fire King gleefully declared that Ka Suo's alliance assembly could not possibly proceed in peace. In the City of Bladed Snow, a melancholic Li Luo summoned Huang Tuo to take her pulse.
Huang Tuo, after his diagnosis, found her to be in good health. However, Li Luo remained reticent, struggling to articulate her discomfort. Misinterpreting her hesitation, Huang Tuo presumptuously suggested she might be worried about her ability to bear children for Ka Suo. Yue Shen immediately intervened, scolding him for his inappropriate conjecture and physically removing him.
She then advised Li Luo to consult Chief Dreamer Xing Jiu about her discomfort, particularly her recent trouble sleeping, a suggestion Li Luo found sensible. The City of Bladed Snow teemed with arriving deities for the alliance assembly. With the Lie Tribe having already pledged allegiance, an increasing number of tribes from Divine Snow Mountain expressed willingness to join the Ice Tribe.
Qin Chu, however, voiced skepticism, questioning whether these diverse tribes would truly adhere to the Three Realms' peace treaty established by Ancestor She Mi, or if they, like Phoenix, harbored ambitions of conquering the Three Realms. A realm guardian attempted to stop Li Tianjin, demanding he reveal his tribe and remove his mask.
Li Tianjin responded with arrogance, nearly escalating the situation into a fight, until Ka Suo intervened, ordering the guardian to lower his sword and to respect Li Tianjin's decision to keep his mask on. Ka Suo then politely asked for Li Tianjin's name and affiliation. Li Tianjin introduced himself as a rogue god named Li Tianjin and confirmed Ka Suo's identity as the Ice King. He then presented Ka Suo with the Sole Bamboo Leaf flute.
Ka Suo was visibly emotional upon seeing his brother's flute, and as he played it, his thoughts drifted to Ying Kong Shi. Li Tianjin observed Ka Suo, while Yuan Ji's chilling words echoed in his mind, urging him to kill Ka Suo for allegedly murdering him and his mother, thus bringing peace to her soul. Ka Suo questioned how Li Tianjin came to possess Ying Kong Shi's flute.
Li Tianjin explained that he encountered Ka Suo's brother in the Mortal Realm, where he had, in his haste, left the flute behind. Li Tianjin had kept it safe until the Mermaid Saint identified it, prompting his journey to the City of Bladed Snow. He further informed Ka Suo that Ying Kong Shi had lost his memory, remembering only his mother and setting off to find her.
Ka Suo expressed profound gratitude to Li Tianjin for returning the flute, as it offered comfort in knowing that Ying Kong Shi was still alive somewhere in the Three Realms. Ka Suo invited Li Tianjin to stay for the upcoming alliance assembly, which Li Tianjin readily accepted, stating he had wanted to visit the City of Bladed Snow anyway.
Huang Tuo was busy tending to injured women from Divine Snow Mountain, who playfully interrogated him about his marital status and confessed that many tribal girls admired him. Yue Shen arrived, visibly displeased and emitting a strong lethal aura, which Huang Tuo noticed. She quickly made an excuse that she was going to find Xing Jiu. The women, however, continued to tease Huang Tuo, questioning if Xing Jiu and Yue Shen were a couple.
Huang Tuo vehemently denied it, but the women pressed on, asserting that Yue Shen's initiative in seeking out Xing Jiu implied deeper feelings. Exasperated, Huang Tuo rushed to find Yue Shen. Upon locating her with Xing Jiu, Huang Tuo jealously confronted Yue Shen, asking why she was with him. Yue Shen explained she hadn't seen Xing Jiu in days and was worried. Huang Tuo, more upset, retorted, "You are worried about him and not me?"
Yue Shen, in turn, challenged him, pointing out his comfortable life surrounded by admiring girls, wondering what he could possibly be worried about. Huang Tuo, agitated, insisted he also had problems and would share them if she cared. Yue Shen, feigning indifference, claimed she wasn't worried, further infuriating Huang Tuo.
At that moment, Xing Jiu retrieved the Holy Magic Cube, revealing he was still unable to uncover the intricate details of the foreboding dream regarding a sleet bird flying into an ice mountain, a dream the Cube had proactively shown Ka Suo. This lack of progress was why he had remained in the City of Bladed Snow.
Yue Shen expressed her concern, stating that since their return from Divine Snow Mountain, she had been most worried about him and Chao Ya, emphasizing that they should face future troubles together. Huang Tuo, relieved, realized Yue Shen’s true concern was for everyone's safety. However, Yue Shen swiftly dismissed his newfound cheer, continuing to harbor resentment over his interactions with other women.
Their bickering escalated as Yue Shen accused him of speaking like Young Master Yan Huang, further fueling their argument and leaving Huang Tuo exasperated. Suddenly, Chao Ya’s messenger bird arrived, carrying a plea for Xing Jiu's help in the Bear Tribe. Recognizing the potential for trouble, particularly a conflict between Liao Jian's former tribesmen and Chao Ya, both Yue Shen and Huang Tuo requested Ka Suo's permission to accompany Xing Jiu.
Ka Suo granted their request, instructing them to report back with any developments. Just then, Li Tianjin entered the hall. Yue Shen, sensing something amiss, asked pointedly who he was. Ka Suo introduced Li Tianjin to everyone, mentioning his encounter with Ying Kong Shi in the Mortal Realm, and inquired about his comfort with the accommodations. Li Tianjin replied that he was well and asked Ka Suo for a tour of the castle and its history.
Ka Suo readily agreed, and the two departed. Yue Shen, however, detected a strong aura of hostility from Li Tianjin, concluding that he was not as benign as he appeared. Xing Jiu concurred, though he believed Ka Suo likely had his own reasons and urged them all to be cautious before setting off to assist Chao Ya in the Bear Tribe. Ka Suo led Li Tianjin on a tour of the City of Bladed Snow.
Li Tianjin requested to see the Ice Tribe's mythical place where flowers bloomed eternally without wilting. Ka Suo brought him to the Cherry Blossom Hills. There, Li Tianjin observed the evergreen blossoms and asked why, unlike other flowers, these did not wither. Ka Suo, recalling that Ying Kong Shi had once asked him the very same question, explained that they were "snow cherries," which would never wilt as long as the city's snow remained.
Li Tianjin casually remarked that any curious observer would ask such a question. His gaze then fell upon a tomb, and he inquired whose it was. Ka Suo revealed it was Lian Ji's, Ying Kong Shi's mother. When Li Tianjin pressed for details on her death, Ka Suo explained his failure to save her when she merged with Yuan Ji, regretting that he hadn't defeated Yuan Ji before their fusion.
Li Tianjin then suggested that Ka Suo killed Lian Ji in his attempt to kill Yuan Ji. Ka Suo expressed his sorrow, acknowledging that while he did not directly cause her death, he could not escape the blame. As Li Tianjin touched Lian Ji's tombstone, happy memories of his past with his mother resurfaced in his mind. Li Tianjin promised Ka Suo that he would help him find Ying Kong Shi.
Secretly, however, he vowed that the day Ka Suo discovered Li Tianjin was indeed the Ying Kong Shi he had been searching for would be the day of Ka Suo's demise. Xing Jiu, Yue Shen, and Huang Tuo arrived at the Bear Tribe to find numerous injured sprites, victims of a conflict between the sprites and the Bear Tribe.
Chao Ya explained that before Liao Jian's departure for Divine Snow Mountain, he had drafted a will decreeing that in the event of his death, the Bear Tribe would unconditionally merge with her Sprite Lands, under her leadership. Upon her return, Chao Ya had approached the Bear Tribe in goodwill, and their warriors had warmly welcomed the sprites, even hosting a celebratory banquet for their union.
However, during the festivities, someone deliberately used music to incite a frenzy, causing both tribes to lose control and erupt into a violent conflict. The familiar nature of the incident led everyone to suspect Die Che. To lure the mysterious musician out, Chao Ya proposed hosting another banquet that very night, confident that with the combined abilities of Xing Jiu, Yue Shen, Huang Tuo, and herself, they could capture the perpetrator, even if it proved to be Die Che.
