During a precipitous fall, Ka Suo's mind raced back to countless moments with Li Luo, particularly how she had always been there to save him. He gazed at her with profound affection, thinking that this time, it was finally his turn to hold onto her. Li Luo, disoriented, asked if there had been a "last time" and lamented her inability to recall past events.
Ka Suo, seeking to soothe her, promised to help her rediscover those lost memories and announced his plan to take her to the Mortal Realm the following day, to the very place where they first met. Meanwhile, in Fire City, Phoenix, after meticulously observing that the border defenses were at their weakest point at midnight, prepared for his departure. However, Fire King confronted him, questioning his intent to leave.
Phoenix, acknowledging he had been discovered, simply demanded that Fire King open the door. Fire King began to recount how Phoenix's tribe had endured ten thousand years under Yuan Ji's tyrannical rule, devoid of dignity. He noted their collective relief when Ka Suo finally sealed Yuan Ji, which had even sparked dreams of uniting the Divine Snow Mountain and appointing Phoenix as its new leader.
Yet, with the emergence of Yuan Ji's bloodline, Li Tianjin, those aspirations were shattered once more. Fire King then offered to help Phoenix realize his ambitions. Phoenix declared his intention to kill Li Tianjin before he grew too strong, but Fire King cryptically replied that Li Tianjin would be defeated by his own hands. Phoenix, puzzled, pressed for clarification.
Fire King then revealed that Li Tianjin was, in fact, Ying Kong Shi, Ka Suo's beloved younger brother, whom he had long sought. Phoenix was stunned by the news of Ying Kong Shi's revival and questioned his alliance with the Fire Tribe, given their enmity with the Ice Tribe. Fire King explained that Ying Kong Shi, upon awakening, had lost all his past memories but harbored an unexplained hatred for Ka Suo, believing Ka Suo had been his killer.
Fire King admitted he had merely affirmed Ying Kong Shi's new identity as Li Tianjin, the god of revenge, confirming his intention to exploit him. He outlined his plan: to let Ka Suo and Ying Kong Shi engage in a fierce battle, and once both were wounded and discovered their fraternal bond, Fire King would eliminate them to secure dominance over the Three Realms and the Divine Snow Mountain.
Phoenix, however, remained skeptical, accusing Fire King of aspiring to be the ultimate ruler and declaring him an enemy. Fire King retorted that their mutual animosity necessitated the elimination of Ying Kong Shi and Ka Suo first, after which they could settle their own score for supremacy.
At the Mermaid Island, Lan Shang inquired of the Mermaid Saint whether she had been close to the King in the past, citing an persistent feeling of having known him for a long time. She then requested permission to accompany Yan Huang to the City of Bladed Snow the next day, but the Mermaid Saint unequivocally refused. The Saint advised Lan Shang against dwelling on the past, especially concerning the King, urging her not to harbor any misunderstandings or expectations.
She disclosed that Ka Suo had married before Lan Shang fell into her coma, which was why he had hurriedly returned to the City of Bladed Snow. The Saint suggested that any perceived closeness Lan Shang felt with Ka Suo was likely due to him treating her as a friend or an ally, and cautioned her to maintain her proper status. Li Luo, who inadvertently overheard this conversation, felt a profound sense of dismay.
The Mermaid Saint, observing Lan Shang’s reaction, privately believed that a brief period of pain now was preferable to enduring lifelong suffering, determined not to let her repeat past mistakes. Back in Fire City, Yan Da reported that, following the Lie Tribe's alliance with the Ice Tribe, numerous other Divine Tribes from the Divine Snow Mountain had pledged allegiance to Ka Suo.
Phoenix concurred, stating it was to be expected, as the Lie Tribe, known for its deep distrust, aligning with the Ice Tribe would naturally sway others. Fire King expressed concern that this burgeoning support for the Ice Tribe would disadvantage them and urged them to swiftly form more alliances to bolster their own power. Li Tianjin, however, dismissed the idea of alliances with disdain, asserting that they were only for the weak who sought protection from invaders.
He argued that the most effective strategy was to eliminate the powerful figures whom others relied upon, causing their followers to scatter in disarray. Phoenix countered that killing Ka Suo would not be an easy task. Li Tianjin, however, declared Ka Suo’s demise to be his personal mission. He then suggested that instead of courting minor tribes from the Divine Snow Mountain, they should focus on capturing an influential Divine Tribe if they truly needed allies.
Yan Da immediately identified the Mermaid Tribe as highly influential, explaining their historical significance as a neutral force that secretly favored the Ice Tribe across the Endless Sea, making them a crucial strategic target. Li Tianjin concluded that by uncovering the Mermaid Tribe's weakness, and forcing Ka Suo’s most loyal ally into betrayal, they could inflict deep emotional pain upon the Ice King. He vowed to find that weakness as part of his revenge against Ka Suo.
Princess Lan Shang, bored with her secluded life, was enthusiastically practicing with twin guns, much to the excitement of her maids. However, the Mermaid Saint appeared and sternly rebuked her, deeming such mortal activities unsuitable for a goddess. The Saint questioned why Lan Shang, who once shunned magic lessons, now embraced these pursuits.
Lan Shang explained her boredom, expressing a desire for activities beyond mundane routines like facial masks, spas, singing, and dancing, wishing for something that would make her feel alive and invigorated. The Mermaid Saint attributed this new demeanor to her prolonged slumber and transformation into a warrior, expressing concern that such behavior might deter potential suitors. Lan Shang, however, calmly stated she had no desire for marriage.
Taking pity on her, the Saint permitted her to venture out for a walk. Delighted, Lan Shang eagerly inquired about enjoyable activities in the Three Realms. One of her maids mentioned a kite festival in the Mortal Realm, which instantly captivated Lan Shang, and she decided to attend. From a hidden vantage point, Li Tianjin observed her, declaring, "Mermaid Queen, your weak point is Princess Lan Shang."
In the Mortal Realm, Lan Shang moved with surprising agility, leaving her maids struggling to keep up, as she explained that mermaids, typically slow on land, needed to make the most of her single day of freedom. Li Tianjin, meanwhile, discreetly followed her. Coincidentally, Ka Suo also arrived in the Mortal Realm. Lan Shang spotted Snow Goose and, recognizing the unicorn, happily caressed it, believing it to be Ka Suo's companion.
Ka Suo, witnessing this, was momentarily lost in a flashback, recalling how he had affectionately renamed Li Luo's unicorn from "Turnip" to "Snow Goose," giving it a name that symbolized freedom and flight. He approached Lan Shang, surprised she knew Snow Goose's name. Lan Shang, in turn, asked if he hadn't told her, under the impression that it was his own unicorn. Ka Suo gently clarified that Snow Goose belonged to Li Luo, a revelation that visibly saddened Lan Shang.
He offered her a ride, but she chose to accompany him as he went to purchase a few items. As they walked, Ka Suo reminisced about an incident from his first visit to the Mortal Realm with Li Luo. He recalled an argument on a bridge where he had used ice handcuffs to bind her for six hours, preventing her from interfering with his mission to save Ying Kong Shi.
Lan Shang then recounted the details of the event, specifically mentioning the six-hour duration of the ice handcuffs. Ka Suo smiled, realizing that Li Luo must have recounted the story to her. At a market stall, a vendor attempted to sell "Ideal Wine" to Lan Shang, which sparked a memory in her of receiving such wine from the King. Ka Suo, however, denied ever giving her wine. Lan Shang, laughing, attributed her confusion to her memory loss.
Ka Suo then requested the best bottle of Ideal Wine, stating that Li Luo loved it, which once again brought a hint of sadness to Lan Shang. Meanwhile, Huang Tuo and Yue Shen were dining with Li Luo. Huang Tuo had prepared a dish of large prawns, mentioning that Qin Chu used to say they always cheered Li Luo up when she was upset.
Yet, Li Luo found the smell repulsive and refused to eat, remarking that she felt as though she had never tasted them before. Yue Shen then suggested they go horse riding, but Li Luo, bewildered, asked if she even knew how to ride. She couldn't recall her unicorn, Turnip, or its subsequent renaming to Snow Goose. Huang Tuo, seeing her distress, consoled her by admitting he too was often forgetful and reassuring her that what mattered was living well.
Ka Suo continued his shopping at the market, stopping to buy flowers. Lan Shang innocently asked if he was hungry, prompting Ka Suo to remark on her similarity to Li Luo, who also associated flowers with his hunger. Ka Suo then purchased all the flowers available. When Lan Shang playfully protested that he had bought them all, he picked one and presented it to her, which visibly brightened her mood.
This gesture made Ka Suo recall the times he had given flowers to Li Luo. Lan Shang, still troubled by Ka Suo's emotional distance since her awakening, directly asked him about Li Luo. Ka Suo affirmed that Li Luo was his wife and that, despite her memory loss—much like Lan Shang's—his feelings for her remained unwavering. A wave of sadness washed over Lan Shang as she asked if he had ever liked her.
Ka Suo apologized, clarifying that he cherished her as a friend. Lan Shang accepted his words with a faint smile, acknowledging her forgotten past and admitting that because the person he deeply loved constantly appeared in her thoughts, she had mistakenly believed herself to be that person. She promised not to make such a mistake again, then announced her decision to return to Mermaid Island, wishing Ka Suo and Li Luo eternal happiness.
Later, Li Luo, in a cheerful moment, applied makeup to Huang Tuo, then turned to Yue Shen for her opinion on how he looked. Huang Tuo, playing along, also asked Yue Shen if he appeared beautiful. Yue Shen, however, reacted with irritation, threatening to punch and poison Huang Tuo if he didn't immediately remove the makeup. Just then, Ka Suo returned, expressing surprise at Li Luo's makeup artistry.
Huang Tuo, seizing the opportunity, declared he was handing Li Luo over to Ka Suo and departed with Yue Shen for some shopping. Ka Suo then gently took Li Luo’s hand, telling her they were going somewhere special, a place she would discover upon arrival. Disheartened and preparing to return to Mermaid Island, Lan Shang suddenly hesitated.
She decided she needed one final glance at Li Luo, the woman Ka Suo truly loved, believing it would finally allow her to completely let go of her own feelings. Unbeknownst to her, Li Tianjin continued to follow her from a distance. Ka Suo and Li Luo found a peaceful spot to fly a kite, and Li Luo's face lit up with happiness. Ka Suo used the occasion to recount stories from their past, hoping to stir her memories.
He spoke of a time when she had bravely risked her life fighting the Fire Princess, and in his anger and concern, he had "punished" her by making her fly a kite as a prayer for her safety. He described their initial encounter, where she had ridden Snow Goose to him, declaring, "Your Highness, I am Li Luo. I have come for you."
He reminded her of the times in the Mortal Realm when she would give him flowers, believing he was hungry, and how he later learned that flowers were symbols of affection, not food. He recalled her joy when he first gave her a bouquet, telling her she was the first man to do so.
Ka Suo also spoke of her love for Ideal Wine, which, as she had explained, was a tradition where mortal parents prepared a flask for their daughters to present to their ideal man. He recounted how he had once conjured a wine flask, a gift from his father that could transform any liquid into fine wine, and presented it to her as her own Ideal Wine, meant for her future beloved.
He added, with a chuckle, that she had playfully called him "Father" back then, given his age. Li Luo found these tales amusing, but regretfully admitted she still couldn't recall any of them. Ka Suo confessed that, at the time, he had secretly hoped she would give that Ideal Wine to him. He continued, explaining that after their marriage, before they had a chance to drink that wine together, she was gravely wounded and fell into a coma.
He expressed his relief that she had now recovered. Li Luo, still without memory, felt it was unfair to Ka Suo that he continued to love her so deeply. Ka Suo gently reassured her, saying it didn't matter if she remembered; her being Li Luo, his wife, was all that he needed. He then tenderly leaned in and kissed her. Lan Shang, hidden nearby, witnessed this intimate moment, and her heart shattered.
The painful truth dawned on her: the Ka Suo she loved in her dreams truly loved Li Luo. She questioned why, in her dreams, his eyes had gazed at her with such love, causing her to believe she was the woman he cherished most. Wishing he would never appear in her dreams again if it was all a mere fantasy, she stumbled, then collapsed to the ground. Li Tianjin, who had been observing, caught her, noting how cold she was.
Back with Ka Suo, Li Luo, startled and overwhelmed by his kiss, gently pushed him away, mumbling apologies before fleeing the scene. Li Tianjin carried the unconscious Lan Shang across the Endless Sea to Mermaid Island. Along the way, he mused on the poignant irony of the situation: Lan Shang, the Mermaid Queen's precious jewel, loved Ka Suo, yet Ka Suo's heart belonged solely to Li Luo, ensuring Lan Shang would never achieve her desire—a scenario he found "very interesting."
Upon their arrival at the Mermaid Island, the Mermaid Saint, who had been distraught over Lan Shang's disappearance, confronted Li Tianjin, demanding his identity. He urged her to prioritize Lan Shang's recovery, and the Saint immediately ordered her attendants to take Lan Shang and summon a Magic Healer.
