Ka Suo brought the grievously injured Li Luo to Huang Tuo, who frantically tried to help but shook his head in despair. Huang Tuo explained that the wound inflicted by the God Devouring Sword was demonic and beyond the reach of his ordinary medicine.
When Ka Suo reminded him that he had once healed Ka Suo from a similar wound, Huang Tuo clarified that Ka Suo, as a god and the sword's sheath, was different from Li Luo, a mortal whose body was made of flesh. Ka Suo pleaded for a solution, reminding Huang Tuo of the many difficulties he and Li Luo had overcome to be together. Huang Tuo promised to think of a way.
As Ka Suo murmured about their past joys and shared dreams of living in the Mortal Realm, raising horses, and gazing at stars, Li Luo unexpectedly regained consciousness. She weakly called Ka Suo’s name and, with a sweet smile, told him she was truly happy to have been his wife, even if only for one day. Ka Suo refuted her, insisting they still had many days ahead, to raise children and grow old together.
Li Luo, however, tearfully expressed her regret that she might not live to see that day, urging him to live well in her absence and let her leave in peace. With that, she succumbed to her injuries. Ka Suo cried out in anguish. Huang Tuo, unable to save her, stated he could only use magic to seal her body's vital energy to preserve her in this state, hoping they could find a cure later.
However, he admitted that such a powerful feat was beyond his capabilities. At that moment, Ying Kong Shi arrived and offered to try, stating that Ka Suo’s spiritual powers had not yet recovered. Meanwhile, Lan Shang, who was frantically fleeing through the City of Bladed Snow, encountered the Mermaid Saint. Although the Saint was unsure of what Lan Shang had initially done, Lan Shang confessed that she had intended to kill Ying Kong Shi but had accidentally hurt Li Luo.
The Saint immediately urged her to leave the City of Bladed Snow and hide on Cherry Blossom Island. The Saint reassured her, promising to handle any trouble, and despite Lan Shang's reluctance to implicate her, the Saint insisted she go, assuring her that she would be safe. Lan Shang, distraught and overwhelmed, hurriedly departed for Cherry Blossom Island.
Ka Suo, Huang Tuo, and Yue Shen watched in astonishment as Ying Kong Shi performed an unfamiliar, powerful magic to seal Li Luo's body. Afterward, Ka Suo followed Ying Kong Shi out, noticing his brother’s exhausted and subdued demeanor, clearly having over-exerted himself. Ka Suo asked about the magic he had just used, but Ying Kong Shi evaded the question, simply stating that Li Luo's injury was a result of her trying to help him.
He added that he always brought misfortune to Ka Suo and did not want him to get hurt either, suggesting Ka Suo return to Li Luo's side. Ying Kong Shi then went alone to a lakeside, removing his blindfold to gaze at his reflection on the icy surface. The mysterious Black Mist suddenly appeared, revealing that the strange mark in his eye was the noble symbol of the Ice-Flame Tribe, congratulating him on becoming a god of their tribe.
Ying Kong Shi, disturbed, questioned what the Ice-Flame Tribe was and insisted he did not want to be part of it, nor was he from it. The Black Mist merely stated that only a god with Ice-Flame Tribe blood could wield their magic and told him to accept his fate before Ying Kong Shi attempted to capture it, but it swiftly vanished.
Back in the Royal Hall, the Ice King and others were examining the residual magical traces left behind from the battle. They confirmed the magic did not belong to any of the assembled Ice Tribe members, nor did it resemble Fire Tribe magic. The Old Ice King, his brow furrowed, voiced his suspicion that it was the long-lost magic of the Ice-Flame Tribe.
Starry Guardian explained that the Ice-Flame Tribe, though ancient and declining, possessed powers and magic superior to both the Ice and Fire Tribes. He recounted his prior visit to Lian Qiu Rock, where an Ice-Flame Tribe mad god was supposedly imprisoned, but the seal had been broken and the god was gone. The attendees grew even more puzzled, wondering why Ying Kong Shi, as the Ice King, could use the magic of another tribe.
Liao Jian then sensationally declared his doubt that Ying Kong Shi was of pure Ice Tribe blood. The Old Ice King, after a moment of silence, confirmed that he had long harbored suspicions about Ying Kong Shi's lineage. Liao Jian, with his fiery temperament, immediately suggested confronting Ying Kong Shi.
Starry Guardian intervened, cautioning against rash actions and revealing his long-held suspicion that a mole within the Ice Tribe, not a Fire Tribe assassin, was responsible for recent events—including the murder of five young men in the Forest of Snow and Fog, the fire at Illusion Sky, and the assassination attempt on Ka Suo. He further speculated that Xuan Ta was likely killed because he had discovered the truth.
Everyone realized Starry Guardian was implying Ying Kong Shi might be the mole. They found it incomprehensible that if this were true, Ying Kong Shi could still calmly occupy the throne. Coupled with Lan Shang's uncharacteristic attack on Ying Kong Shi and Li Luo, the situation became even more bewildering. Starry Guardian concluded that finding Lan Shang would be key to uncovering Ying Kong Shi's secret.
Back with the sealed Li Luo, Ka Suo refused Yue Shen's suggestion to ask Ying Kong Shi for more spiritual power, citing his brother's mental exhaustion.
Huang Tuo observed that the ice around Li Luo was melting much faster than expected and, realizing that a long-term solution required a perpetually freezing environment, suggested moving Li Luo to the bottom of the Endless Sea, a place even colder than the City of Bladed Snow, to preserve her seal with the spiritual powers of Heaven and Earth.
As the three prepared to lower Li Luo into the Endless Sea from a cliff, they were intercepted by realm guardians, with Qin Chu angrily demanding to know why they were abandoning Li Luo instead of trying to save her. Huang Tuo explained their intention was not to give up, but to preserve her body and vital energy until a cure could be found.
Ka Suo then eloquently convinced the guardians, reminding Qin Chu of Li Luo's unwavering courage and his own unwavering commitment to her, pledging to retrieve her once a solution was found. With their consent, they collectively lowered Li Luo into the icy depths. As the others departed, Ka Suo remained alone at the cliff's edge, gazing out at the sea, murmuring his promise to Li Luo.
Ying Kong Shi later approached Ka Suo at the cliff, apologizing for the turn of events, stating he had only wished for Ka Suo and Li Luo’s happiness. When Ka Suo expressed his confusion and disappointment regarding Lan Shang's actions, Ying Kong Shi's gaze softened, and he stated that Lan Shang was an innocent victim and everything was his fault.
Ka Suo, surprised, asked why he would say such a thing, but Ying Kong Shi remained silent for a moment before quietly walking away. Elsewhere in the City of Bladed Snow, Lian Ji, while out, overheard people gossiping about Ying Kong Shi—questioning his pure bloodline, suggesting he was a reincarnated demon responsible for the deaths of the Seven Saints, and accusing him of using unorthodox, non-Ice Tribe magic.
Enraged, she silenced the gossips and returned to the palace to see the Mermaid Saint. Upon arrival, she learned that the Old Ice King had ordered strict surveillance of the Saint, preventing her from leaving. Lian Ji scoffed at the guards, asserting her authority as Queen Mother and dismissing them. The Saint, for her part, sarcastically remarked that the Old Ice King’s "hospitality" was merely a pretense for imprisonment.
Lian Ji then approached the Saint, taunting her about Lan Shang’s predicament and the dire consequences she faced for attacking Ka Suo's beloved Li Luo. She suggested that even the Mermaid Tribe would turn her over to protect themselves. Despite the Saint's defiance, Lian Ji eventually offered a solution, revealing a secret passage at the bottom of the Hundred-Flower Fountain that led to a frozen lake outside the City of Bladed Snow.
She promised to meet the Saint and Lan Shang there to assist their escape. The Saint subtly blinked in understanding, and Lian Ji, after a few perfunctory remarks to the guards, departed. Later, Starry Guardian, Chao Ya, Pian Feng, and Liao Jian, who had been secretly observing, saw Lian Ji and the Mermaid Saint rendezvous. They watched as Lian Ji facilitated the Saint's escape on horseback, confirming their suspicions about Lian Ji's involvement.
From a hidden vantage point, Lian Ji smiled, a knowing glint in her eyes. Meanwhile, Ying Kong Shi used his magic and saw Shuo Gang arrive on Cherry Blossom Island, where a distraught Lan Shang sat amidst a sea of flowers, looking fragile and helpless. Shuo Gang, with a wicked smile, approached Lan Shang, informing her he suspected she was hiding there after killing Ka Suo’s bride and being wanted by the Ice Tribe.
When Lan Shang angrily questioned how he knew of their secret Mermaid Tribe location, Shuo Gang smugly revealed that he had been there before and had "played" with her for a long time. He then vividly recounted the night she was defiled, explaining that he had blindfolded her, making her believe he was Ka Suo, or later, Ying Kong Shi.
He described how she had asked about his sincerity, how he had placed her hand on his chest, how she had embraced him tightly, and how she had left behind her Teardrop Charm. Upon hearing the horrifying truth, Lan Shang was utterly devastated. Overcome with guilt and remorse, she cried, realizing her grave mistake in blaming Ying Kong Shi and, worse, causing Li Luo’s death.
Shuo Gang, seeing her vulnerability, moved to take advantage of her, but was suddenly forced back by a powerful blow. Ying Kong Shi appeared, his eyes blazing with killing intent, his normally gentle voice laced with cold fury as he vowed to shred Shuo Gang into a thousand pieces. Shuo Gang, visibly alarmed, grabbed Lan Shang and pulled her in front of him, using her as a shield to deter Ying Kong Shi.
Just as Ying Kong Shi knocked Shuo Gang to the ground and was about to deliver a fatal strike, the Mermaid Saint arrived and angrily demanded to know why Ying Kong Shi was there. Ying Kong Shi explained he had come to avenge Lan Shang, but then he realized Lan Shang was no longer present. Lost in despair, Lan Shang made her way to a cliff overlooking the sea.
She began to dance gracefully, her eyes hollow and vacant, as fragmented memories of her first encounter with Ka Suo and her long, unrequited devotion to him flashed through her mind. With a final, sorrowful farewell to her beloved King, she leaped into the endless depths. When the Mermaid Saint and Ying Kong Shi reached the cliff, they found Chao Ya, Starry Guardian, and Pian Feng there, with Pian Feng gazing out at the Endless Sea.
The Saint anxiously asked about Lan Shang, and Pian Feng regretfully replied that she had already fled into the sea. However, Pian Feng then noticed a Teardrop Charm on a nearby rock. The Saint, bewildered, questioned its presence. Ying Kong Shi instantly understood the tragic truth: a mermaid could not survive underwater without her Teardrop Charm. He realized Lan Shang had not escaped, but had chosen to end her life. Seizing the Teardrop Charm from Pian Feng, Ying Kong Shi immediately plunged into the sea.
