Shuo Gang boasted about taking Princess Lan Shang's virginity and the Teardrop Charm, planning to take her as a concubine. Ying Kong Shi confronted Shuo Gang, demanding to know if he was the one who took Lan Shang's Teardrop Charm. Shuo Gang readily admitted it, adding that he was helping Ying Kong Shi achieve what he couldn't and that he hadn't revealed Ying Kong Shi's "weakness" to their father.
Enraged, Ying Kong Shi attempted to kill Shuo Gang, but Yan Da intervened. Ying Kong Shi, recalling their past connection, was unwilling to attack Yan Da, stating he sought revenge for Lan Shang's desecration by Shuo Gang's despicable means. Yan Da coldly retorted that he had no right to seek revenge for Lan Shang, accusing him of being equally despicable.
She stated that if Ying Kong Shi hadn't first tricked Lan Shang by pretending to be Ka Suo and discovering the secret of the Teardrop Charm, Shuo Gang wouldn't have been able to take advantage of her; Shuo Gang was merely completing Ying Kong Shi's original plan.
Yan Da criticized Ying Kong Shi for looking down on the Fire Tribe while embodying the same cold, ruthless, and unscrupulous traits he claims to despise, traits deeply ingrained in him, just like the Fire Tribe's ways. She concluded that he betrayed Lan Shang to protect himself and is the true culprit, a crime that cannot be fixed even by killing Shuo Gang.
Ying Kong Shi's emotions became increasingly complex, and his spiritual power surged uncontrolled, though he was unaware of the shocked expressions on Yan Da and Shuo Gang's faces. Suddenly, the Fire King arrived, and finding Ying Kong Shi already gone, he furiously declared he would kill Ying Kong Shi for his disobedience. Shuo Gang, however, accused Ying Kong Shi of ambushing him and Yan Da.
Yan Da, who had been unable to open her eyes due to Ying Kong Shi's golden light, immediately interceded for him, suggesting he was merely agitated and would ultimately be loyal to the Fire Tribe, requesting more time for him. The Fire King was skeptical about controlling Ying Kong Shi and expressed concern about keeping him alive. He then instructed Shuo Gang to quickly locate the entrance to the Divine Snow Mountain.
Haunted by Yan Da's words, Ying Kong Shi paced alone in a hall, performing a solitary dance amidst falling flower petals. Ka Suo, observing his distress and knowing he had been weary from continuous troubles since taking the throne, approached him and offered to talk. Ying Kong Shi, addressing Ka Suo as "Brother," confessed his deep fatigue and a growing belief that he was unfit to be King, admitting he had overestimated himself.
Ka Suo reminded him of their father's advice to nurture the Ice Nucleus, explaining that though small, it could grow into the Six-Leaf Ice Crystal and mend the Ice Veil, symbolizing the long journey of kingship. He urged Ying Kong Shi to trust his heart to guide him. Ka Suo's words reminded Ying Kong Shi of Lotus Fairy's actions, making him feel even more guilty and remorseful, preventing him from revealing the truth.
Ying Kong Shi expressed his uncertainty and exhaustion, hoping he wouldn't make a wrong choice, then changed the subject, asking Ka Suo why he sought him out. Ka Suo replied that he simply wished to play the flute with him. As Ka Suo played, Ying Kong Shi reflected internally, acknowledging his fear not of his true identity being exposed, but of the disappointment it might cause Ka Suo.
He resolved to accept full responsibility for his past actions and their consequences. In her chamber, Princess Lan Shang lay distraught on her bed, refusing food or water. The Mermaid Saint, assuming her sorrow was over Ka Suo and Li Luo's impending marriage, gently suggested they return to the Endless Sea.
Lan Shang, her bright eyes now filled with despair, expressed a desperate wish to erase all connections to Ka Suo and retreat to the deepest parts of the ocean, never to emerge, lamenting that it was now impossible. Alarmed, the Mermaid Saint pressed her to reveal what truly happened. A maid then announced that the Ice King, Ying Kong Shi, was outside, seeking to see her.
Lan Shang immediately hid under her covers, refusing to see him and demanding his departure. The Mermaid Saint, after comforting her, left to address Ying Kong Shi. In a vivid recollection or hallucination, Lan Shang saw Ying Kong Shi, appearing as Ka Suo, mockingly telling her that Ka Suo marrying Li Luo was inevitable, and that her attachment to him had allowed him to take her Teardrop Charm. Consumed by rage, she imagined attacking him with a spear.
Outside, the Mermaid Saint politely informed Ying Kong Shi that Lan Shang was unwell and could not see him. However, Lan Shang herself then emerged, smiling brightly. Ying Kong Shi, surprised, asked if she was truly alright. With a subtle hint of resentment in her voice, Lan Shang claimed she had merely been sad over an unfulfilled love but was now fine, having realized that life held more than just romance and other important things to pursue.
Ying Kong Shi praised her newfound resilience, noting how worried he had been. He then asked the Mermaid Saint to leave, stating he had private matters to discuss with Lan Shang. Alone, Ying Kong Shi candidly admitted to having done many unforgivable things to her. He promised to seek justice and her forgiveness when the time was right, asking for her patience until then, and that he would do whatever she asked.
Lan Shang's smile vanished, her eyes filled with unconcealed hatred as she simply replied, "I will wait for you," before turning and re-entering the chamber. Later that night, Lan Shang sat with the Mermaid Saint, gazing at the stars. She yearned to return to her childhood, a time free from worries and the City of Bladed Snow, when she could swim freely in the ocean. She asked if there was any way to reverse time.
The Mermaid Saint, reminiscing about her own youth, mentioned a legend of a rare Scarlet Lotus from the ancient Three Realms, said to possess the power to alter time, though she admitted it was likely just a myth and its location unknown. When the Mermaid Saint suggested returning to the Endless Sea, Lan Shang hesitated, citing Ka Suo's upcoming wedding and the potential for discontent among other tribes if they were absent.
Deeply moved by the Mermaid Saint's unwavering care for her happiness above all else, Lan Shang then asked to borrow her sea pearl. At the Lotus Fairy's palace, the Lotus Fairy, displeased that Li Luo did not appear after being summoned, instead sending Realm Guardians Lu Zhao and Yang Dan, expressed her dissatisfaction. The guardians reported that Li Luo was occupied and had sent them in her stead.
The Lotus Fairy demanded Li Luo's immediate presence, but the guardians explained that they hadn't seen Li Luo in a long time and that Qin Chu had mentioned Li Luo was practicing her spirituality in the Forest of Snow and Fog, with no set return date. Meanwhile, outside the Forest of Snow and Fog, Ka Suo was amusing himself by conjuring small animals with his spiritual power while waiting for Li Luo to finish her training.
Xing Jiu suddenly appeared, carrying the bodies of sparrow sprites. He explained that these sprites had been murdered for helping him investigate an Ice Tribe spy, and he intended to bury them respectfully in the forest. As Ka Suo and Xing Jiu pondered who committed such a heinous act, Li Luo found herself in dire peril deep within the forest. Hearing Li Luo's scream, Ka Suo immediately rushed into the forest.
He quickly subdued a masked assassin attempting to kill Li Luo. Just as Ka Suo was about to unmask the assailant, a black mist materialized, rescuing the assassin before they could be identified. Ka Suo then carried the unconscious Li Luo back to the City of Bladed Snow, where Liao Jian expressed surprise upon seeing her condition. In Li Luo's chamber, her friends, including Pian Feng, Huang Tuo, Yue Shen, Liao Jian, Chao Ya, and Xing Jiu, gathered around her.
Li Luo, ashamed of her transformed appearance, tried to avoid them. Yue Shen playfully challenged Li Luo, acknowledging her shapeshifting abilities. Ka Suo then asked Huang Tuo if he could cure Li Luo's affliction. Huang Tuo regretfully stated that Li Luo wasn't sick but cursed, and while he couldn't lift the curse, he could alleviate her animosity and pain. Li Luo thanked him.
Xing Jiu then inquired if Li Luo recognized her attacker from the previous day and why she was targeted. Li Luo replied that she didn't know. Xing Jiu observed that the magic used by the assassin was remarkably similar to the one that killed Xuan Ta and expressed his belief that the assassin would return.
Ying Kong Shi, who had been listening from outside the chamber, silently turned and departed, reflecting that since Li Luo had removed the Sword Spirits from his body, his spiritual power was recovering, and he would be able to protect her in the future. Ying Kong Shi then visited the Lotus Fairy, who appeared to be injured and lying on a couch. He confronted her, asserting that she was the one who had attempted to kill Li Luo.
The Lotus Fairy admitted her guilt, explaining that Li Luo had witnessed her meeting with Fire King and therefore had to be eliminated to prevent exposure. Ying Kong Shi argued that Li Luo, as Ka Suo's fiancée, was well-protected and impossible to kill. He urged the Lotus Fairy to flee for her safety. However, she refused, stating that her flight would disgrace him as the Ice King. Instead, she offered to die, taking all the blame, to secure his throne.
She then laid a cruel choice before him: the path of a king is ruthless, and to maintain his throne, he must sacrifice either his brother or his mother (the Lotus Fairy herself). Ying Kong Shi, deeply affected by her words, his eyes moist, remained silent for a moment before turning and leaving. Ka Suo found Ying Kong Shi gazing at the free birds in the sky, remarking that he felt his castle was more a prison.
Ka Suo, noticing Ying Kong Shi's increased thinness and his noble silver hair but tired yet gentle demeanor, asked if he could help. Ying Kong Shi responded by wishing Ka Suo to be free on his behalf, to travel with Li Luo and explore the beauty of the Mortal Realm.
When Ka Suo questioned his unusual request, Ying Kong Shi explained that he wanted Ka Suo to achieve what he himself could not, like soaring freely across every inch of the land. Ka Suo responded with a heavy sigh. Later, a nervous Li Luo, accompanied by Ka Suo, approached the Ice King and Ice Queen to seek permission for their marriage. Li Luo expressed her doubts that they would accept her.
The Ice Queen, however, greeted Li Luo warmly, thanking her for helping Ka Suo overcome his Sword Spirits. Ka Suo then formally declared his intention to marry Li Luo to his parents. The Ice King immediately objected, questioning who had approved such a union. Ka Suo stated it was Ying Kong Shi's order.
The Ice King reiterated his refusal, clarifying that his opposition wasn't due to Li Luo being a mere mortal, but because she was afflicted by the Fallen Oracle's curse. He expressed concern that Li Luo might lose control and accidentally harm Ka Suo, and questioned what their tribesmen would think of their king marrying a "monster." Recalling a previous conversation with the Ice King, Li Luo reluctantly told Ka Suo that he should give up on her.
Ka Suo vehemently refused, declaring that he didn't care about public opinion and would marry Li Luo before leaving with her to live privately in the Mortal Realm. The Ice King, furious at Ka Suo's defiance, threatened him with violence, but Ying Kong Shi suddenly appeared and intervened. Ying Kong Shi declared that he was the one who ordered Ka Suo and Li Luo's marriage.
He argued to the Ice King that Ka Suo was only happy with Li Luo, and this was the best choice for his brother. When the Ice King, enraged, commanded Ying Kong Shi to retract his order, Ying Kong Shi calmly reminded him that he had abdicated, and as the current King, he would not retract his decision. The Ice King, speechless with fury, turned and left. Ka Suo then knelt outside the chamber, appealing to his father for approval.
Ying Kong Shi urged Li Luo to take Ka Suo away, but Li Luo, believing their marriage needed the Ice King and Ice Queen's blessing to avoid Ka Suo's lifelong regret, knelt beside him. In the royal hall, Ying Kong Shi, wielding the God Devouring Sword, confronted a swirling black mist. The mist declared that the throne belonged neither to Ying Kong Shi nor itself.
Ying Kong Shi asked if the Fire King had sent the mist, but the mist dismissed the Fire King as insignificant. It then commanded Ying Kong Shi to destroy the Fire Tribe and retrieve the Teardrop Charm. Ying Kong Shi questioned why he should obey. The black mist asserted that helping it was helping himself, claiming to be the only god in the world from Ying Kong Shi's true tribe, leaving Ying Kong Shi to ponder his own identity.
Suddenly, a faint noise in the corner led Ying Kong Shi to wield his sword, only for Xing Jiu to appear. Xing Jiu explained that he was in the hall searching for his ancestral necklace, a precious heirloom of his dream tribe, and hadn't expected to encounter Ying Kong Shi. Ying Kong Shi questioned his presence, but Xing Jiu revealed that the necklace was currently under Ying Kong Shi's foot. Ying Kong Shi lowered his God Devouring Sword, picked up the necklace, examined it briefly, and then handed it back to Xing Jiu before silently departing the hall.
